Mark Wilson I agree, it should be played. Violinists play multimillion dollar instruments all the time. Every performance. A great instrument should be played all the time.
@@diddymies Lucky you! Most of the range gets the timber shaved down to that. I just can't get on with it. Give me an SG with an entire tree trunk for a neck!
These are custom shop limited runs which are more expensive because they made just a few, I bet I you can get it into mass production you can shave 2 or 3 grands of the price.
Dear Gibson, please bring back the non-reverse Firebird III. And pretty please, make the neck profile a 60s slim taper, and not the D profile. Colour options: heritage cherry, transparent blonde, vintage sunburst and black. I'd take them ALL!
for this much you can buy an entire rig. What a ridiculously-overpriced axe! You can buy for example: a Variax guitar, Helix, stereo Speaker cab and still have enough money left over.
Brian Ray was a friend of mine until he neglected to pay me for the background vocals I sang for his album and then neglected our friendship overall. Shady.
All a bit Guildy I'd say. Guild Polara is the closest in style but I would buy a gumby shape Guild T-Bird; problem is the T-Bird with the vibrato bridge does not have P90s and the T-Bird with the P90s does not have a vibrato: oh, hang on, I could buy *both* Guild T-Birds for less than half the price of *one* of these. We have a plan.
So, since this proves Gibson can make a full sized scratchplate, why does the standard SG Jnr have a small one? Hoping to buy one as soon as the lefty version arrives in the UK, but will have to spend another £50 getting a proper plate from the USA.....
As far as I know Kramer's were made by ESP and assembled in the USA. There were a lot made overseas, but none truly made in the USA. The M-III is killer. Finding a 2013 model is really hard.
4200? What a bargain. I'll take a Greco, upgraded pickup and pots, and keep the extra 3400. They edited out all the re tuning he had to do. How do you tell if its a real Gibson? It does not stay in tune at all.
Wow! They'll make a signature model for ANYONE now!! Never heard of this guy, yet he suddenly has a signature model!!?? I'm still waiting for the Ted Nugent signature Byrdland. Yes, his politics are screwy... But he was still an amazing and extremely influencial artist from the 70s!
Daniel Cannon I've been asking myself the same question... I suppose Gibson still has leftover stocks from past years or perhaps they've made a deal with CITES which allows them to still use ebony and rosewood under certain conditions ?
Absolutely beautiful...but I wish it were $3000 cheaper. Gibson’s pricing are out of hand. Go buy a Precision Guitar kits Jr.; assemble, sand, finish, and set-up yourself for about $650.
Fender has a Jimmy Page signature, an Eric Clapton Signature, a David Gilmour Signature.... Gibson has Brian Ray, Dave Amato, Johnny A. Gibson, you do know you are supposed to be trying to sell guitars, right?
PFB1994 You know they already made Jimmy Page Les Pauls and EDS-1275, right? Not to mention Slash, Billy Gibbons, Billie Joe Armstrong, Chris Cornell, Clapton’s Lucy LP and Firebird, Dave Grohl, Ace Frehley, Tony Iommi, Joan Jett, Angus Young, Bonamassa, Joe Perry, Zakk Wylde... Sure seems like a lotta people like Gibson enough to have a signature guitar by tyem
One of the most beautiful SGs I've ever seen.
Absolutely beautiful version! Right on Brian Ray!
This SG looks like a winner.
My dream guitar was the BR SG, now it's the BR SG Jr. Brian helped Gibson make two of their best guitars EVER. Thanks Brian!!
Great player! Saw him with Paul McCartney a while back. Great guitar Gibson!
Love My 62' Original, its been my main gigging axe since I got it.
Most excited about this guitar of any gibson has done lately. What a piece of wood
one of the coolest guitars I've seen in a while
Hey 👋
Are you also one of my music fans out there?
Absolutely stunning.
Huge Paul Mcartney fan, love your guitar playing. Super nice guitar!
'Tears Of A Clown'. That's awesome. I love this guitar.
Coolest thing Gibson has done since the original designs!
What a cool guitar, what a cool tone, what a cool guy.
The "dummy" coil is fantastic. Such a simple solution. It's should have been an option years ago. I'm sure I can't afford it. But you can dream right
Beautiful guitar, sounds fantastic too
perfect guitar. hope to grab one of these.
I have a 65. Identical to this if you are interested.
Love the guitar . What a life you’ve had. Stay well amigo
great video, great guy and a great guitar by the looks and sounds!
Top of my wish list now !
Sweet! Nice vintage Marantz receiver & turntable in the background towards the end as well.
Already placed my order!
When i see him with An SG all i think is PLAY GET BACK!
I like the amp
The most beautiful guitar!!! #BR62sgjr
Nice guitar, I'm also digging the Watkins dominator
That white fox finish would look tremendous on a SG with humbuckers !
Juniors are my favorite.
Mark Wilson He has a 58 LP Junior. I wonder if he tours with it? Probably not. Why risk it?
Mark Wilson I agree, it should be played. Violinists play multimillion dollar instruments all the time. Every performance. A great instrument should be played all the time.
Sweet guitar, great job!
The 🎸 guitar sounds great and looks good!
I think it’s a Winner in White! Usually they are Red.
I like it!
do a video about original standard 50's vs 60's
Brian is the coolest!!!!
best SG ever.
No mention of McCartney? I think this would have given the guitar a little bit more weight for people who have no idea who Brian is?
@Jipke My point exactly J.
Name dropping isn’t cool
What is an induction coil? and they made the body an 1/8 inch thicker?
This guitar reminds me of yamaha revstar for some reasons. Both awsome guitar! When will they be available??????
First comment from a real live Gibson fanboy!!!🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
John Smith
YOU IS INE SICK PUPPY JOHN
CARLOS GUITARLOS 90042
He is quite skilled
Website specs say "Custom 1962 Slim Taper" neck...
Does that mean chunky like he says? Coz normally Slim Taper is disgustingly thin to me...
Modern slim taper is perfection :>
@@diddymies Lucky you! Most of the range gets the timber shaved down to that. I just can't get on with it.
Give me an SG with an entire tree trunk for a neck!
the "custom" part may mean the neck is within the 60's realm but still a little thicker than average.
@@iagobroxado Hope so! :)
You will be mine. Oh, yes, you will be mine... I hope.
$4200. I'm thinking more like $1600.
@Cam Walker 999 brand new. Shut it shill
@@oldtimetinfoilhatwearer easy gabey, you'll be alright
I'm thinking my Epi SG is better and only a couple hundred dollars.
@Cam Walker Unique features that are found on thousands of under $1K guitars.

$4200 is too much. It's okay They'll destroy it if it doesn't sell
Yep
yep
Maybe you should get a better job! They won’t destroy these. This one doesn’t catch on fire.
for this much you can buy an entire rig. What a ridiculously-overpriced axe! You can buy for example: a Variax guitar, Helix, stereo Speaker cab and still have enough money left over.
There’s a few guitars out there for $4,199?
Brian Ray was a friend of mine until he neglected to pay me for the background vocals I sang for his album and then neglected our friendship overall. Shady.
Did a signature guitar ever reflect it’s namesake better than this one? I think probably not. Awesome. Want.
Chelsea Handler got a signature SG?
Yeaaaah play that crushed Firebird X
Does the added 1/8 inch body thickness do much to combat the neck dive?
All a bit Guildy I'd say. Don’t know where Gibson get their prices from. There’s plenty of guitars out there with a much lesser price and are brilliant
But there's only one guitar like this.
A sexy machine if ever I seen one
So, since this proves Gibson can make a full sized scratchplate, why does the standard SG Jnr have a small one? Hoping to buy one as soon as the lefty version arrives in the UK, but will have to spend another £50 getting a proper plate from the USA.....
what amp is that?
Ivan Ivnov Watkins Dominator
He looks like Chelsea Handler when she's 70.
JohnnyReiTV You’re one to talk.
BenS123 i dont think he meant any ill will in this comment lmao
Who is Brian Ray ?
Paul McCartneys guitarrist, i believe
Brian May’s brother from another Father

Chill mate, he might be just cracking a joke 😂

That rosewood block would be cooler as an inlay. Too blocky looking for me.

I thought all of the ebony species were listed by CITES as endangered?

They still wonder why they're losing money
Is this Michael Jackson?
These music companies are making millions off of musicians, because they will pay outrages prices for gear.
Really cool guitar, though seriously overpriced. Now I don’t mean to be negative, because I dig his taste, but who the heck is this guy?
you are a thief, because that is my guitar ,it is a Gibson,sg Jr,white and ,and, yes is my guitar ,no more words!
Just get the Jr, definitely would stay in tune better than that terrible wiggle stick
but I want wiggle tones
