  • I completely restore, and sharpen some old tin snips that I got at the local boot sale market. They really do cut well after a bit of tlc , definitely worth doing as they are so much better than the cheap junkie ones that are on offer at the local hardware store

Surely they're Gilbow - as good as tin snips get.

Some tin snips do not have bolts holding the two halves together- they are rivited together , but many do. The bolt that holds the two halves together that broke in this video is not a normal bolt. to check , If you operate the shears you will notice that the one handle turns around the bolt and the other doesn't. That is because the bolt is shaped so it doesn't turn in one half but does in the other( the side that has the nut on turns ,the side with the dome on doesn't. The nut is peened over to stop it coming undone , and as a result you cannot undo it without it shearing the bolt off .I would suggest you split the nut ( carefully ) to save the bolt as you can get another nut more easily and cheaper than you can the special bolt. You will need to clean up the threads on the bolt before using a new nut.

my E300 does not work, and I do not know anyone who fixes, but I have some knowledge, how to find out where the problem is? Can you make a video by checking all the components? Thanks

Hi the first thing I would do is check to see if you have any battery power disconnect the battery connector and put an amp meter probe in the two terminals red is positive, black is neutral, if you have no power, most likely the batteries are dead

I think you should be sharpening the outer bevelled edges rather than the inside flats. Same as scissors.

You are possibly right, but any work done will improve them hey, cheers
