This is still one of my favorite albums of the entire 2020s so far. I love how heavy it is, but atmospheric and melancholic too, you can hear the clear heavy emotions in some of the songs even without the lyrics present like in Mother and Cosmic Limbs. I fucking love it!
Digging the sound design & composition on this record. It's got a nuanced approach to the wholeness of an LP which stands out because I think that approach carries a complex emotional weight not often displayed by a fair majority of releases within the genre. Tech is generally a head-rush which this release does well to a degree but what it also does is evocative in a way one can feel in their chest.
My GOD. This is a tour de force, incredible stuff! I really want this to be a 2021 release so I can say, no, Archspire is shit, this is better. Because it clearly is. But so is Stortregn's so I'm going with that for AOTY.
