So glad this is on TH-cam! Patience is my favorite Savoy Opera!

Thank you for posting this English National Opera's version of Patience. Sarah Dugdale will always be Patience to me, and Derek Hammond-Stroud's performance as Bunthorne was perfect.
Patience has always been my favourite of all the Savoy Opera's.

How incredible to find this! I grew up on this version and Sandra Dugdale remains the "one and only" Patience, IMO. Thank you for uploading!

Derek Hammond-Stroud came and sang at my secondary school many years ago, and I have never forgotten it. I am now 73 and I still love G&S

Played the part of Colonel Calvery at Strathbungo Secondary, Glasgow in 1965. Have loved G and S ever since.

This is one of the best of the Brent Walker survey of the Savoy operas. It is essentially the English National Opera 1969 production (also used by Opera Australia in 1995), slightly modified for the camera.

When I was at William & Mary, the school's light opera company, Sinfonicron, did a production of Patience that replaced the Aestheticism with Existentialism. Seeing beatniks sing G&S is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Unfortunately, this was before they started recording their shows.

    Kia ora from Aotearoa!
Thank you so much for uploading these videos, they make so much of my childhood!
I don't want to ask too much of you, but if you could at some point upload The Sorcerer, Iolanthe and Ruddigore, I would be eternally grateful to you.

Thank you so much for this! REAL SUBTITLES! (and not those idiotic auto-generated ones). They make a HUGE difference. I have the complete George Walker DVD set of Savoy operas, and none have subtitles. Are these the result of some industrious person putting them on especially for this upload?
One of the interesting details shown in Topsy Turvy was that the audience were given booklets containing the libretto. The words in G&S are so important and witty, that having subtitles adds tremendously to ones enjoyment.
Any chance of Princess Ida, WITH SUBTITLES?

I have the entire Brent Walker series, but some cannot be uploaded due to copyright reasons and some of them The sound is simply not up to basic professional standards。
