I was in the limited studio audience for this gig! I think there was like only 20 people there. I'm the one who's whistling. Nate signed my ticket stub from the gig the night before and I scored Taylor's ear plugs - yep I know, a little weird... but hey!...
@danieljliversLXXXIX also notice how still Dave is behind the mic while he sings here. He started bouncing around a lot more as the Foo's progressed over the years, which pumps up the energy on stage but makes it harder for him to sing.
@@1mlb704 I think that's the crux of it. His aging combined with a MUCH more movement-based live performance really does tend to leave him with very little vocally. He could definitely use some considerable breath support training, but it's not that the instrument itself is actually any worse.
Yes these are ancient comments. But try singing with that form of power for 20 years straight almost every waking day of your life, then you might understand why these longings for perfection are fruitless and pointless. Entropy. It happens. Especially now looking back in this era when Taylor is now no longer with us. RIP.
You make me dizzy, running circles in my head One of these days I'll chase you down Well, look who's going crazy now We're face to face, my friend Better get out, better get out You know you make me breakout Make me breakout I don't wanna look like that I don't wanna look like that Know you make me breakout Make me breakout I don't wanna look like that I don't wanna look like that Know you make me breakout You can see this on my face., it's all for you The more and more I take, I break right through And therapy still scares me, put me on my back again I may be crazy, little frayed around the ends One of these days I'll phase you out Burn it in the blast off, burn it in the blast off Watchin' me crawl away Try to get out, try to get out You know you make me breakout Make me breakout I don't wanna look like that I don't wanna look like that Know you make me breakout Make me breakout I don't wanna look like that I don't wanna look like that, yeah-yeah I don't wanna look like that Breakout Breakout Breakout Breakout Go, go, go You know you make me breakout Make me breakout I don't wanna look like that I don't wanna look like that You know you make me breakout Make me breakout I don't wanna look like that I don't wanna look like that, yeah I don't wanna look like that I don't wanna look like that You know you make me breakout Make me breakout Make me breakout, yeah
Actually they both played on that album. They never revealed who played on which songs, but you can kind of decipher who played on which song if you study their styles (Stacked Actors was Hawkins, Learn to Fly was Dave, Next Year was Taylor AND Dave, etc.)

Taylor Hawkins is pretty good at drums... I actually thought Dave was playing on the Nothing Left to Lose album until I found out it was Hawkins.

They also played Learn To Fly on this show, though I can't find it on TH-cam anymore. Do you happen to have that portion of the show? Thanks..
