Big pats fan - so far in camp it’s actually been Tyquan running as the x with the ones (basically just running wind sprint clearouts), and Polk has been spending a lot of time as a backup slot and sometimes Z (don’t know why they aren’t trying to get him more outside reps with the starters). Baker hasn’t been close to meaningful reps, pretty much only running with the 3’s and 4’s, and never really as an X, although he’s still the only one outside of Pop to get any real separation(size, getting moved off his spot, and inconsistencies downfield have been his issues) And Pop has been the clear cut favorite target for any of the qbs he’s played with, a little limited in role because he doesn’t really leave the slot, but he consistently wins reps against a defensive unit that’s the strength of the team. Should get a lot of targets, and be by far the best fantasy asset, until/unless one of the rookies develops. Osborn has shown some early chemistry with Maye, and will probably be the other starter outside. Sorry for the text wall lol
I see everyone overreacting to Baker dropping 2 highlight reel worthy grabs… His drop rate was high but realistically the kid was a target hog from Maye, showed some rookie moments but was winning on routes outside consistently. The catches will come, the kids got hands. Better Baker gets this experience now rather than week 5
His hands were one of the main concerns with him as a prospect so I wouldn’t say he has good hands but that doesn’t mean he can’t be productive. People massively overhype drops and how impactful they are on a players production

Great take. I completely agree
Or he just ends up being another MVS or Juedy
