This is a re-upload of the original video that had video sync issues, we apologise for the previous version we decided to take it down soon after it went live as we weren't happy with that quality for you all, we hope you enjoy this video more and all comments would help push this out into the algorithm😅❤
Hisokas talking about how the opposing personalities attract between transmuters and enhancers it’s easy to get stuck on the creepy implication that hisoka is hitting on Gon (which he is) but remember that Killua is also a transmuter. It also goes to explain the chemistry between the two friends.
The referee is actually really good when you think about it he's taking everything into consideration a real pro 👍👍 Hisoka's VA makes his creepiness 100 times 'better' 😆but also I have to say some of his lines are not so ambiguous in Japanese but the double meaning is still there and makes him the perfect borderline character : if Gon(/Killua) was a powerless kid Hisoka wouldn't give him any attention, powerful and smart opponents are his thing and Gon and Killua are probably the first children he encounters that turns him on so Hisoka is going through new feelings as well..how exciting 😅😅 Even irl I think people can have weird and disturbing thoughts and desires but I can take it as long as they don't act upon those urges, there is a line you shouldn't cross, and I think Hisoka would definitely kill Gon but won't actually SA him The way he feels about them is already disturbing enough so yes he's totally a villain, even when he's helping or protecting them (for his own benefit ofc) so Togashi definitely wrote one of the most unique villains, the fact that most people still like him makes his subtle writing the strongest point of his work imo...the story takes a lot from real life and real life weirdos do exist and should(?) be represented in fiction as well, in fact Togashi shows a lot of our world's dark side in HxH and I truly appreciate that choice
@4:29 he doesn't really have that rep actually, and the japanese he used was 仲良し, which is closer to "good friends", rather than "intimate". Think you've not quite grasped the characters in HxH
I just saw your comment after I posted mine😅 I didn't explain the meaning of that line in JP but that was what I was talking about : 'nakayoshi' is very neutral but I think Hisoka's tone is what makes it so creepy and ambiguous, I guess the ENG translation adds that interpretation even though they shouldn't (translation work is really tricky)...there's no way you'd know if you don't understand Japanese though so I don't blame him or any viewers in that matter
Let’s just say until this point, hisoka is just battle maniac. Gon develop so much for short time so that hisoka really like to fight gon. But for a few episode later, i can’t defend hisoka weirdness anymore. His bungee gum weakness is he can’t pull something that he can’t lift, but still his ability need high battle sense to really work
Never understood why people are so adamant on defending Hisoka. He is intentionally written as a weirdo and that's what makes him such a menacing, interesting character. Liking a villain doesn't make you a bad person. There are people who will dismiss the value of his character because of his vile nature, and that's a shame because he is a really cool character, but trying to justify his actions undermines his impact in the story. Togashi didn't make him a weirdo for no reason.
@@maxdrags3115 You can't deny he is written to be creepy around kids. Yeah, he likes to fight, but that desire to fight has a lot of sexual allusions, and he refuses to exclude children from his arousal. He gets turned on, he moans, he stares at people's asses, thirsting for a fight. He may not be into kids in the same way most creeps in the real world are, but his borderline sexual desires don't exclude them, and when this dude quite literally gets hard by the thought of a good fight, that's a problem. That doesn't mean he's a bad character, I think him being a weirdo makes for a bunch of intriguing moments, but he isn't someone to look up to, nor to be defended to such a high degree.

Hisoka is a creep through and through, that's what makes him so effective as a villain. Never understood the argument against him being a pedo because there was a clear attempt to paint him as a vile human being.
@@maxdrags3115 ...... He was explicitly looking at gon and killua's ass in greed island. Also in election arc, he tried to agitate illumi by talking about violating killua (a lot of subtitles use the word 'kill' but hisoka specifically used the word 'do' and made a hand gesture that is used for fck in many asian countries)
I don't know why many people so adamant to say Hisoka is pedophile, as other comment said it before, it's not 'intimate' like the Eng translation but it's more like a 'close friend'. And Hisoka is a murderer who's like killing, but even more he always believe himself to be the strongest, that's why he wanna fight with strong or worthy opponents.
