As a Bahamian living abroad, I love seeing this. Goombay dance is similar to Caribbean dances like bachata and salsa. We do not need to copy anyone, as the basic moves and ideas come from West Africa via the slaves/ their polyrhythms blended with European melodies, expressed through a mating dance/ social interaction. Every country has their own version. The same thing with ring play and other elements of island dance and music.
