I have an questions about beech wood pellet block. Why has my mushroom block have a dry core during incubation? Why do black patches appear on blocks? and its not mold Thank you very much
1. do you sterilize these pellets in a pressure cooker? or do you do something else? 2. do you cool the blocks during incubation? if so, how exactly? 3. are the black spots wetter than other areas of the substrate? 4. black spots only between the film and the substrate or inside the block as well? 5. Do they have any distinct smell?
I pasteuralize at 75 celsus. The block were exposed to low temperature during colonization 15C for one week. The black color is on the surrface not in substrate, and it has the same moist level It has earthy smell
1. in what sense "exposed to low temperature"? did you cool them on purpose or could you not raise the temperature to 21 degrees? 2. how many hours did you pasteurize the substrate? 3. Is your pasteurization container insulated?
