This new Absolute storyline exactly what is needed today. In this world, our Heroes are young, angry, and poor. Yet, they are also virtuous and kind, despite being rough around the edges. This is what modern DC needed to resonate with our culture once again.

Well, we've seen Croc. I'm guessing they'll do a version of the most recent movie version of Catwoman. I'm interested in their interpretation of Harley, Scarecrow, and Thomas Elliott.
It somehow works though, at least for me, it was pretty good, first comic I’ve ever actually wanted to read instead of just getting it from comic summary videos. For some reason it just resonates with me, this Batman. And its not the original is gone, but people are complaining in some of this review videos. And 90% of them haven’t even read the comic, either.
I love how this worlds Bruce grew up as a very close child hood friend with not only Harvey Dent (two face) but also Ozzy (Penguin), Eddie (Riddler), Waylan (Killer Croc) and of course Selina (Catwoman)….how that will develop in the future will be very interesting to watch
I really enjoyed this take on Batman. I’m not interested in DC at all that much. But this makes me actually want to pick up a copy and read it. Really good from jump in my opinion.

Going through the 1st issue of Absolute Batman, a lot of things jumped out at me which I feel boil down to poor writing and a desire to break convention for shock value: 1. I could forgive the choice of the writer and artist to go with the Huge Bulky frame for batman, being built more like a body builder and not an athlete or a martial artist like the OG was. However, it would be much harder for this Bruce to move quickly or dodge bullets or projectiles. Not to mention the wider target area. 2. Lost himself for time after his dad was murdered, Got Scholarship, and then Dropped out; the travelled outside Gotham learning everything from applied mechanics, chemistry, criminal psychology, military theory.. Even if we ignore the fact that the time gap is too small for all of this, How did a this Bruce Wayne pay for all this? With what money? Money provides freedom. When the OG Bruce travelled the world and learnt all his skills over the years, atleast it was believable because it was done on the Wayne Money. Even if he got scholarships to study all these, it would not line up with the time line of him dropping out! 3. Also, works Construction during Day, rebuilding the city? Like they couldn't have chosen a less busy work where his absence would not be noticed from time to time? 4. Who came up with the idea of knives in the bat shape Protrusions on his cowl? Impractical at the worst and secret weapon at the best, If anything they should be used as last resort, a secret last weapon in case he loses his utility belt or such. Even OG Batman had a Batarang hidden up his sleeve always. Yet this one seems totally willing to pull them out a normal mob beat down for shock value. 5. Gets the drop on a veteran mercenary like Alfred Pennyworth, NOT ONCE, but Twice? Nah... Not a Kid who's barely entered the field. They did Pennyworth wrong here. 6. Uses Tops floors of abandoned buildings as pseudo Batcave? With Millions of dollars' worth of Screens and Computers setup around him.But just leaves it all behind to jump out of a window once discovered? Once again, is he secretly a Billionaire to afford such damage? Absolute Batman is no masterpiece. Honestly, the Earth One Batman was a fresher take than this, holding up even today. Will catch up on this series just the same, as this one is so bad that it borders on good.
In the black mirror with dick grayson as batman, Dick headbutts a guy so hard he impales his forehead with the bat ears, that was scott snyders early batman work, haven't seen it used since.

2:23 outside of how the stories are told, and people get abused by the movies in their character, casting, Steve, Rogers Captain America in the comics is a few inches shorter, and just as bulky. Because, in truth, the things that those characters are doing in a comic books could only be done by those super large yet super athletic people who are super trained in combat. The comic books have taken a page out of Hollywood to draw and portray characters in a way that feels relatable to the average reader who is nowhere near looking impressive. And most people aren’t like Bruce Lee and having strength and speed is likely the most determinant factor in a fight. That is the thing that makes this Batman and the portrayer of Bruce Wayne slightly refreshing. But, like the presentation says, is it enough to attract casual readers and make them read more without pissing off the hard-core fan?
Okay 4:09 Gives the phrase “Let me get this off my chest” a whole new meaning. The one positive thing I have to say about Absolute Bat Man is this is Nick Dragotta in Beast mode. (Nick Dragotta is an amazing artist, pick up the East of West TPBs or Vengeance from Marvel (the series that introduces Ms.America Chavez)
At 6’6 250 he is 2 inches taller than Batfleck with about 30 pounds on him. Side note didn’t he have red hair in some original concept art? Am I buggin?

Only part I didn't like was the introduction of Joker. I thought they could have built out this universe for a year or two &give other villains a time to shine but now Joker is gonna be hovering over this whole thing. The Joker just being Batman isn't interesting to me either &you know they're gonna try to make him sympathetic. I really think showing Joker was a massive mistake comic would've been damn near perfect w/o that. And did Jim Gordon get some brown sugar or just adopt &Catwoman looked like she was mixed but maybe it's just me but the ending left me with a bad taste but I'm loving everything before the epilogue
