TAMIYA M41 Tank build. Great kit and had a ton of fun with it. Only my second armor build to date. You can find more photos of the build along with stories over on my Patreon page.

The first time I learned about Tamiya was with a RC ‘toy’ of the M-41 Walker Bullfog of my cousin, I think 1973? Not as detailed as the one you have here. My cousin outgrew modelling. I still have the Tamiya RC M-41. The gear parts have rusted. It is still unpainted. It sits next to the Panther on the shelf. I have the later Tamiya M-41 still in the box.

The M-41 has a special place in my childhood memory. On my way to High School riding a Jeepney (converted US Army jeeps turned into mini-buses), a convoy of M-41 of the Philippine Army drove by to enforce Martial Law, set up checkpoints and suppress any acts of defiance. Everyone was scared. I just wanted to get close to them. Memory stayed with me for years. Until…. On my way to my first college in Canada, I went over a bridge overlooking a railroad yard. A train was pulling car after car loaded with old Chieftain tanks of the Canadian Army! The Tamiya Chieftain was the last kit I built before moving to Canada. I still have it and it sits on the shelf with the unpainted M-41 and the Panther.
