I had some hotter takes about the story in this one so I hope this doesn't come off too harsh, ultimately I find it fun to talk about because I do think the world of Hazbin is very interested and gets the imagination going which is just the best!

Yess, even though in her version he's slightly evil that detail alone made him very pitiful and showed that he isn't a cold monster, just a hurt person lashing out, unable to move on from what they've lost.

I like to think that in this AU maybe the reason he's so neglectful of his daughter is because he's still in some kind of denial, and he's constantly trying to appeal back to his angelic form, and sees Charlie as lower than him bc she's a hellborn- and he's not, he'll never be- maybe he's disappointed she doesn't look like an angel- and in his eyes he's still an angel she should look like an angel too- since she came from him- but he cannot see that she's an angel in her heart or some cheesy crap like that- idk I just thought about it LOL thx for coming to my TED talk-

Lavender forgot the most vital part about the Belgian Lucifer statue. They commissioned another sculptor to replace the existing statue and the 2nd one came out more attractive than the first 😭
I loved learning that SOO MUCH. So funny! What an absolute middle finger to that church!

@greenapple9477 Yep! The first statue, L'ange du mal, was made by Joseph Geefs. This was the one removed with the baller quote "This devil is too sublime."
The second one, the one Lavender showed a picture of, is Le genie du mal, was made by Joseph's brother, Guillaume Geefs. (Ironically, it seems the brothers used the same human model.)

I agree. I've even seen other artists on their first redesigns for this show having disclaimers at the beginning, just in case. I feel like if an artist feels the need to clarify to you that their art isn't meant to hate on the show or something like that, there's most likely some issue there. Artists feeling pressured to agree with every aspect of a character design just because it's the official design can very easily limit their creativity or their art itself if it's taken too far.
Which is not to say that everyone in the fandom has been pressuring artists or making them feel obligated to clarify things, but some people are. And this is also not to say that every artist feels pressured or afraid of the fandom or something, but some feel the need to be extra cautious just in case.

I like the idea that maybe Lute in this AU still doesn't think she can be harmed after harming vaggie, purely because she believes Vaggie to be "sinful" and therefore no longer protected by God, and so she believes her being ABLE to harm Vaggie means she deserves it in her eyes.
Really pushes home the "What I am doing is justified" world view she sort of has in this AU
and it'd explain why she didn't immediately twig that angelic weapons can hurt angels and tell the exorcists to stop leaving their weapons everywhere- she doesn't see Vaggie as an angel, so her weapons didn't hurt an angel in her eyes

While in the Bible that is up for debate, I personally think the forbidden fruit doesn’t exist on Earth, in Hazbin hotel the fruit is specifically a apple. Lucifer and Charlie has used it as their symbol. And because Hazbin is going to do some creative liberties I don’t think it matters much.
I believe this stems from the word apple and it used to mean fruit in general!
@@moondivine2288 I believe before it became popular to interpret the Fruit of Knowledge as an apple, it was commonly interpreted to be a fig instead. Which makes sense, since figs are much more common in the part of the world where the abrahamic religions got started
I remember, when in school people were getting bad grades because they were saying that the forbidden fruit is an apple, because the apple was just used to make the story cleaner for kids (it's the explanation I always get from teachers and well everyone)
Pretty sure she drew a fig but I can't help seeing it as a pomegranate, which is kind of the "forbidden fruit" of Greek mythology in a way.
Something about an angel that looks so beautiful and innocent committing violent, unspeakable acts feels so terrifying and uncanny to me, something so pure creating genocide and destruction. Honestly it's one of my favorite designs and I think it would make an interesting dynamic in the show, how appearances and angelic beauty can hide evil

i love this idea as well, and i think it would look particularly cool if hell had more cool icy blue tones or maybe indigo, so when the angels arrive everything gets coated in bright red blood that stands out against the background. It would add some nice variation to the colour palette, and these gorgeous innocent looking angels would leave a trail of scarlet wherever they go
Btw alot of the stuff in the hazbin wiki just isn't true 😭 Nowhere has it been said Niffty has ocd. The hazbin fandom is the WORST for mass misinfo

Its not really the wiki's fault. They make a big effort to keep out mis-information and include detailed bibliographies in all the articles, so that people know where they get their information from. As long as you do your research, no misinformation should be spread.

Also I kinda find it funny how you say it’s easy to avoid misinformation, but this is literally LavenderTowne’s third attempt to redesign this series and despite all of her in-depth research she still managed to be misinformed because of the lack of cohesion and verified sources for Hazbin’s canonical lore.
I swear this fanbase can’t keep the lore & characters straight. Comic book superheroes are more stable than this like with people like Alex Lennen and comic drake can explain nearly 100 years of comic book lore and its real life history. Than a franchise that just came out a few months ago.

(I haven’t watched the show yet, I’m just going off of multiple sources from the Internet, like tweets and wikis and shit, so please be nice haha) Nifty was never confirmed to be Japanese, it was just that before the actual show came out Vivzie confirmed that Nifty speaks Japanese, a character trait based on the fact her original pilot va was Japanese-American and spoke Japanese, which now that she’s no longer voicing her it’s entirely possible Nifty doesn’t even speak Japanese anymore, and regardless she was never specifically confirmed to be Japanese

2:21 As a spider enthusiast, I'd like to note that those are called chelicerae. It's also worth noting that they are NOT mandibles (pronounced, like, shell-uh-see-ray) Mandibles are used for chewing, while chelicerae are used for sucking (more context in replies)

Specifically, spiders eat by using their venom to liquify the innards of their prey and use their chelicerae to suck up that organ goo.

I mean, I get why TH-cam would have that as a feature (prevents commenters from editing comments to make creators look bad,) but it's kinda a bummer for stuff like fixing grammar or spelling mistakes.

THE EXORCIST DESIGN IS ACTUALLY SO GENIUS!!
I love Lavender'sa exorcist design but the sad part is that is not anything revolutionary. Hazbin tried to be different but in doing so and avoiding the classic angle design they made it worse. I do think that using Crusaders as inspiration was pretty clever though
21:41 Minor correction here- Vaggie knew she could be harmed *by another exorcist,* because it was Lute who pulled her wings off. She still didn't know a denizen of Hell could harm anyone from Heaven. And even then, she didn't know Angelic steel was the secret weapon against angels/Exorcists because Lute ripped Vaggie's wings off with her bare hands and without any weapons. As for Lute slashing out Vaggie's eye with an Angelic spear, I can chalk up Vaggie missing this due to being blinded by pain and by the loss of said eye. If I were Vaggie and suffered the same wounds she did, I probably wouldn't remember what weapons hurt me, especially if I were ambushed/attacked from behind like she was by Lute.

I think most of the confusion comes from the dialogue and how it was interpreted by the audience. What Carmilla says in the show is "did you know angels could be harmed?" Most people (myself included) interrupted this as her asking "did you know angels could be harmed by anyone or anything?" If Carmilla had said "harmed by demons" there likely wouldn't have been this confusion

I love your change for the angels! I agree that the dichotomy between them looking docile and holy and committing horrible acts would make for more interesting imagery than a visibly evil character doing bad things

I love that they all follow a similar red and black color scheme and that Lute stands out easily as not being one of them. i like the detail that Lucifer, Lute and Charlie have blonde hair, also setting them apart from the rest of hell which makes sense! Angel was done so dirty in the show too, he's so pretty and unsettling here and definitely reads spider more here (i didnt even know he was supposed to be a spider for so long). love the redesigns!

seeing Angel in animation and pictures for the first time long ago, I had thought he was a Stick Bug or something like that

I knew he was a spider for a long time and yet I didn't find out the freckles under his eyes were actually an extra set of eyes until I saw it in the show. I feel like he just should have had an extra set of eyes 24/7 just like Stolas does.

I think a simple solution to the 8 limb thing with Angel would be to give him 4 legs, but have two legs in each boot, so he still walks bipedally. I think having him holding 6 things is a fun sight gag, but it doesn't seem worth drawing 6 whole arms all the time. That way, there's still the fun of having multiple simultaneous expressions through his different arms, but it's more of an allusion to him being a spider, and the design doesn't even need to change that much.

I love the lineup at the end! One thing about hazbin hotel characters is that the silhouette works but the lineup kind of feels like a bit of a boring train track due to how many characters have the same kinda tall height and nifty is just the tracks only diverse track. The lineup of height variation is a HUGE improvement!
Also i would love to see a redesign of high guardian spice character designs especially since you have experience with writing stories about witches

Honestly, I LOVE your Lute design, the idea of her being super cute and nice but probably killing demons violently with a happy smile because she thinks what she’s doing is correct is SUCH a smart idea and I love it! And yeah I found her design a lot less “heavenly” than the other angels, so I’m glad how your design turned out 💜
As a Hazbin fan, I genuinely really enjoy not only hearing genuine constructive criticism of the show but also hearing solutions that would make a lot more sense. Hearing other perspectives that aren’t completely blindly supportive of the show is quite refreshing, and it is such a shame that such a warning is needed on such a politely made video ♥️

I’m glad that she was able to listen to the genuine criticism (bc i could understand why she wouldn’t with all the jerks) and make an improved video cuz her new redesigns are so cool and well thought out!! and i enjoyed learning stuff about history and religion too. i think this vid is one of her best videos imo

Yes, the OG video was full of misinformation, but lavendertowne mentioned herself that she was in a tough situation at the time that she made it, which is partially as to why that video had a lack of quality. I just noticed that some people where hating Haley in the replies, which I feel is a bit unnecessary knowing the context to why the OG video lacked in quality
Yeah. The original video wasn’t good, which even I as someone who hasn’t watched the show could tell, but not every video can be a masterpiece. Sometimes you just need to put something out to keep a deadline, for instance. But some fans treated the video like Haley personally murdered their whole family, or something.

The Hasbin fandom had to wait a long time to have the show so I guess the old fans became sorta obsessive over it? It makes their reactions over the top at times.
It is so ominous to think of Angels floating down from the light and killing hoards of screaming people with serene smiles, moving so lightly, in a way that almost resembles a dance
I think Charlie’s issues with Lucifer might actually be more down to Lilith. In the flashback, it looked like she was taking Charlie away from Lucifer, so he might not have been seen as neglectful by Charlie because he’s just that kind of person, but rather because of outside forces. He also has depression which can make you want to hide away and cut people off, even when you love them.
I feel that in your angel redesign it would've made sense to do more 70s themed drag to show that his sex work and drag is something Valentino more forces onto him than his own personal choices and expression
not that I take word of god as canon but Viv has said that he enjoys sex work and drag, just not the control val has over him

Ooooooo the concept for Angel's extra 2 limbs is so good. The more I think about it, maybe they cound function like his chest puffs. Like the puffs looks like boobs and his arms accentuates the illusion of curved hips, making his design even more hourglass for when his in drag.
kinda wish his other arms are bigger/humanlike instead of fluff stubs now

I also have an issue with his arms seemingly coming out of his legs when they wrap around them but then shift up on the drag outfit.

Another fun tidbit I remember hearing somewhere about the devil statue was that that after the first statue was removed for being too beautiful, the church commissioned the original artist’s brother to create the statue of the devil. Unfortunately, his statue was even more beautiful than the one before…

I think the fandom kinda misrepresents niffy a lot where she is evil but personally I think she has just got a lot of trauma and would love to see her backstory
They don’t misrepresent Nifty the show does 💀 she’s an obsessive blood-lustful woman-child in the show, it’s the wiki and outside sources that expand on her character. Not really the average watchers fault that they see her and take her at face value. I get what you mean though, she could be super interesting!
Honestly while Niffty is pretty off the wall compared to the rest of the characters (plus she seems to be accquainted with Alastor) I don't really see anyone in the fandom saying she's "evil."
Not evil, and I do think it could be worth to get a glimpse of her backstory.
I don't think she's OCD just because she likes to clean, but the interaction with Angel at the club does point to her obsession with cleaning having deeper roots.
I personally just think she's a chaotic clean freak who is short, obsessive, and friendly. I also find her to always be doing her own thing with a love for bloodlust. The only time she needed someone was while drunk

i adore how stark the contrast is between lute and the rest of the cast, in the show she blends in sort of to both worlss
I like how lavender isnt trying to 'fix' the characters like a lot of other redesigns. She isn't condescending to the original media either, which is refreshing. Most creators i find either like it, love it, or hate it to their dying breath and spend a lot of time just trashing it. As a fan of hazbin, it's cool to finally see creator i like making criticisms without being hateful. Cool au by the way, and good video as usual :)

She did kind of mention that Lute's redesign could have been a whole new character to fully REPLACE Lute.... that.. doesn't fully sound like a redesign but a "fix" to me

Personally I really like Angel's design I personally would have given him a bit more spider elements maybe give him 4 legs to give more of that siloute but dunno if that would be too hard to animate. Also I am a massive fan of the series and I never relised his dots where supposted to be eyes since they look exactly like freckles in visis's style
ANGLE?
I like the addition of more clearly spider-like elements to Lav's version of Angel Dust; However male spider creatures in her universe have 2 legs and 6 arms, while females have 4 legs and 4 arms. His twin sister Molly is designed that way in early concept art and in the show (she's in Heaven.) One set of her arms is retractable like Angel's lower arms. I'm also wondering why Angel doesn't have a spider's abdomen/lower body? In "Poison" he's briefly shown wearing a fluffy white "tail" attachment that I think looks really cute and I'm not sure why he doesn't have one. Molly doesn't have one either, and you'd think that since female jumping spiders have bigger abdomens than males, she'd have something that would look adorable as a fluffy skirt.
I'd also LOVE for them to have something on their body that resembles pedipalps, which are a small fuzzy set of appendages real spooders have near their mouth. Molly's bangs look like those pedipalps, so I think Angel could have a fuzzy "shirt-collar" or "choker" around his neck for his pedipalps. (Val has white fur on him that's part of his body bc it's on his wings, but looks like it's clothing because his wings look like a coat/cape when they're retracted.)
The way your Lucifer redesign had me BREATHING HEAVILY. You made him so gorgeous and when you look at him you can just TELL that he's the king of hell. If not, then you can tell he's a very important demon who's separate from the hotel. Lucifer is my favourite character from the show, but I'm willing to admit that his design didn't really give off the vibe that he's the king of hell. You gave him just what he needed!

I think Hazbin characters feel more like OCs than official characters. Like, they feel more like doodles in a notebook come to life and I suppose they are, especially Alastor who was made when Viv was fourteen.
And I suppose that has its own charm and appeal because this series was built on fans who love the art and design of the series. I guess it's just two different approaches to the visuals and different priorities.

The “that bad” thing about Lucifer, is that he was COMPLETELY absent for years of her life. His desperation to be involved now is largely guilt related. He’s also kinda trying to pretend everything is totally normal? He strides in like he owns the place, is initially super dismissive, and IMMEDIATELY picks a fight with one of Charlie’s friends. We know that Alastor deserves it, but he doesn’t, and neither does Charlie really. He’s great if you forget the context of him showing up out of nowhere after years of neglect and expecting to be viewed the same as before he left.
As an audience member, I feel like we’re only ever told about Lucifer’s neglect, instead of shown it. IIRC, we only see Charlie reach out and get ignored by her mom, which makes it seem like Charlie just doesn’t want to have a relationship with her dad. We’re also not shown why he neglected her (presumably due to him feeling inadequate?), which could make him seem a lot worse

I’m talking about effective storytelling. It’s basic “show, don’t tell.” Don’t tell the audience that Lucifer did something bad. Show him doing something bad and its negative effects. Imho, we’re only ever told he neglected Charlie, and we’re mostly shown him giving her his love and attention.
I have a theory that Lilith took Charlie and somehow stopped Lucifer from finding them (I know, like every deadbeat dad claims, but hear me out)- when they're singing together we get a snippet of young Charlie sitting on his lap and them both being happy and loving and then Lilith pulls her away as they both look sad. That makes more sense to me than him acting solely out of guilt (though the guilt probably still factors in heavily as well).
Lucifer’s redesign is definitely my favourite (I love the dragon aspects so much - I don’t see that in a lot of modern lucifer art!! And the string-halo is heartbreaking) , but I disagree with his character notes the most. I think him being a distant father that doesn’t know how to parent, while still genuinely loving his kid, is a pretty good depiction of how children can still end up traumatised even if their parents didn’t outright abuse them.
Though I do agree that the redemption premise would be more interesting if the cast had a few more blatantly “bad” characters. Hopefully we see that with Alastor next season!
Adam comes to mind when she talked about blatantly “bad” characters. His whole personality is Lilith’s toxic ex but, he has the material to be more complex. Eve was tricked into eating the forbidden fruit and he probably ate it too. They saw evil get into the world and kicked out of Eden. I don’t care if Valentino doesn’t get redeemed because there are some people that will never change and that topic is valid.

2 things (preface: i greatly enjoy your work and think these redesigns are excellent)
1. Angel does have a couple scenes where, when he gets really mad or aggressive or whatever, his six freckley eyes open so you can see that they are in fact eyes
2. there's a pretty popular theory that the reason Lucifer is set up to be this awful deadbeat dad but doesn't act like it is because Lilith, Charlie's mom, forced him for some reason to not be able to see her while she was growing up.
Anyways, great work as always!
for the first one tbh it's like.... barely noticeable. i think it would be more interesting to make those eyes more visible at all times rather than the once or twice he gets really mad

i know this is a really minor detail but;; i love that you gave charlie and lucifer three horns or more and all the others have two. it js makes them feel more special as they have something in common that the other character's dont. which makes sense, as they are the king/princess of hell and they have more power than the other characters.
love the colour palette as well,, it still has the red/white theme of the original hazbin hotel show but it's way easier on the eyes and has a lot of other shades instead of the bright, highly saturated red.

As a fan of the show I wish the fandom wasn’t so salty about redesigns. While I personally enjoy the tumblr sparkle dog energy of the original, I understand that the designs are very flawed and I enjoy seeing other artists takes. I’m also able to acknowledge how flawed the show is and I enjoy hearing other people’s takes.
Ignore the side of the fandom who harass you for this, they’re just… the loud minority of the fandom. I can guarantee we aren’t all like this 😭 you’re my favorite artist honestly and I adore your takes!
Oooh the Lute/angels change is so much more interesting now! Like Lute in the show knows what she is doing is bad and looks antagonistic. But this redesign now is so much more intimidating. Like imagine these celestial beings killing you, with no emotions cause they truly believe they are doing good.
That is more intimidating to me than an antagonist character.

Angel blew me away especially. Emphasizing Angel's smaller eyes made me extremely happy because it's one of my favorite traits about his original design.
The research that went behind the details for Lucifer was just--- *chefs kiss* the golden thread on the horns was by far my favorite touch, on top of the pomegranate for the fruit.

About Lucifer being a contradiction, you CAN have parents that are very overprotective and still grossly negligent. My parents where like that. My parents were like that. Incredibly overprotective to the point that I was sheltered and very socially unaware but incredibly emotionally and physically negligent to the point I had to live with a very treatable infection for years and almost passed because of it.

I really like it when people explain their character design process. It's always really fun to hear how someone else does things
The show's take on morality was very disappointing to me. The question of "can a demon truly become good?" is interesting, but the only answer the show is comfortable with is "yes... only if they were always good to begin with!" Most of the characters the shows considered redeemable aren't even that horrible to begin with, and the characters were thought were truly horrible turn out to have always been good deep down inside. It's a very... binary look at morality. It doesn't feel like the characters change and grow, it feels like we're just told they were always like this but are now showing it.
The show isn't even that edgy tbh. It's 'safe' edgy, like the sort of humor where teens online joke about committing tax fraud or arsen.
I enjoyed this show a lot, much more than I was expecting since I went into it expecting it to be bad as I hate helluva boss. but I think it very much shows this story and it's characters have been in her head for so long that she won't cut characters/ideas even if the show would benefit. Like maybe this is controversial but showing a character like Valentino is not a good idea when another main idea your story is trying to push is 'everyone deserve a chance at redemption!!' while directly showing us someone who would never be welcome in the hotel where 'everyone' is welcome to try redemption. but she'd never cut valentino/angel or dumb down their story because it's her OC from when she was a teenager lol. it also could have been interesting if his character was used to show Charlie yeah, some people suck and don't deserve a chance + teaching her to be more assertive since she is literally princess of hell and that seems barely relevant ever? which is totally the direction I thought that episode was going in but instead it was Charlie learning to not overstep boundaries :/

I have my own personal headcanon about Lucifer’s contradictory behavior. Mainly that 1: he has some sort of social anxiety/autism on top of his depression (there is no way in the world he is neurotypical) and 2: he’s the kind of neurodivergent who requires prompting and direct instructions in day to day life.
He does care about his daughter, he just has no idea how or when to interact, on top of his lack of motivation to do anything non rubber ducky related due to the aforementioned depression.
I think it's absolutely fine if we're harsh on a product, especially if it's a product we love, because it means we care all the more. What's not ok it's going against each other and insulting each other on our own opinions! I like Hazbin hotel enough and I'm fine with most of the designs, but there are a couple I absolutely despise and I don't agree with some of the common outfit choices Viv makes with her characters! I don't like how the characters don't represent clearly how they died and the time period they're in (you showed quite clearly this even in characters I didn't know about), I don't like how half the cast has a padded formal jacket/tailcoat, a bowtie and/or a tophat, on characters that would make no sense! Like, half the cast shops from one singular shop in all of hell, they dress the same! And this necessarily implies that the silhuettes are all similar to each other! Anyway apart from this I like the show, we can hate some things and love other things, no?
(edit) Oh btw I loved your designs to bits!!! You reimagined the characters fixing all the problems I had with them but they are still recognizable! You fixed wonderfully especially Lucifer, which is the ONLY character design I absolutely hate in its entirety, it's giving water, air, nothing, and you made him so compelling, filled with beautiful imagery!!!

just a little thing about the "Vaggie knows that angels can ne harmed" thing. Its 100% the show's fault for not explaining things clearly, but the angels know they can be harmed by other angels, what they didn't know was that ANYONE with an angelic weapon can harm them. Thats why Vaggie was suprised to learn that the residents of hell could fight back against angels, despite having been hurt herself. But honestly i feel like things like this are things the creators wouldve wanted to be in the show but couldn't because of their time requirements, which is why the moment is so confusing in the show. This is also why a popular critique of season 1 is that it feels rushed, they didnt have the time to fully develop what they wanted to do i think
If they knew that angels could harm them with angelic weapons… why on earth would they ever think they WOULDN’T be harmed by those exact same weapons if anyone else was wielding them?

For the longest time, everyone think angels couldn't be killed, so if one was harmed (like Vaggie), it's much more reasonable to think it's because the person who harmed them were supreme in power instead of thinking angel as a species can be harmed.

As someone who’s enjoys the show alot but doesn’t partake in the streams and extra stuff, I agree with the idea that too many things in the show are directly explained in outside of the show. I see it as lazy storytelling. Show, don’t tell, Viv! No hate to the show, I enjoy it a lot, but I do think that if any other show went about things the way HH did, it would be laughed at/criticized. I’m mostly talking about details about the character’s pasts. Like we do learn a thing or two in the show, but rather than actually showing us the character backstory through the show, we learned practically everything about characters like Nifty and Alistor from streams. It just doesn’t sit right with me.

Especially for Nifty, she was never confirmed to be ocd, or fall in love with every boy she meets. She tends to only like guys if they're "bad boys" in her eyes. I'm not sure about the japanese thing, but I've never heard of it before. Not trying to be rude, just pointing some things out! ^^
As a big Hazbin fan, I’m insanely embarrassed that you have to have constant disclaimers to avoid the fandom throwing a hissy fit over someone having a different opinion. I personally also have a lot of criticisms about the show, but as someone who loves over the top designs and has had issues with religion in the past, there’s still parts that really speak to me. But it is DEFINITELY not perfect and the fans need to realize that it’s okay to acknowledge that. Absolutely LOVE the designs by the way! I never really had much of an issue with Angel’s design before, but your vision is so fun and I frigging love it! And the Lucifer design with the fake wings and halo is genius! 😭. And Lute might give me nightmares 😳👏🏻.

I would stop adding all these apologies and disclaimers, because it's clear that no matter how much you try to tell the fandom that you're just doing this for fun and by no means want to imply that the OG designs are bad in any way, shape, or form, it will never EVER be enough. It sets a very unconfident and almost pitiful tone throughout the whole vid, which is sad because I really like these designs for the most part :(

I always thought that there were rankings of hurt? The average sinner can't hurt an angel with their bare hands. Angels are above them. That's why strong demons like Ars Goetia and Overlords have to be taken out with silver bullets. They can't be hurt unless by angelic steel.
Vaggie was harmed by another Angel, but had no idea sinners could harm her. At least, it's implied ("But...I didn't even know that was possible" E7)
I dunno. Awesome redesigns tho. Nifty still has the potential to be a psychopath and I love that.
I think its stems from the idea that they are all powerful and superior so lowly sinners wouldn’t be able to lay a scratch on them

I wanted to wait till both parts were out before commenting on the designs, to really see the full vision. And I gotta say, I really like the final lineup. I like the diversity and I love how you pushed the more animalistic/insect features of some of the characters. I didn’t even know Nifty was supposed to have bug elements in her design My main gripe is with Husk though. I was kind of disappointed when you changed him from a cat to a wolf, because making him a "fat cat" would of been absolutely perfect for his whole gambling backstory. For those who don't know, "fat cat" is an idiom/slang term that refers to someone with extreme wealth, usually in high positions of power. This is perfect for Husk during his peak as an overlord, as he was wealthy and had loads of power. Feels like such a wasted opportunity lmao. Overall really like the designs! Alastor and Angel are probably my favorites
