Really interesting to see Chase shift around your CL's to make room for the new IHG Premier Biz without needing to speak to their Reconsideration Department/having an upfront denial. Interesting datapoints here- and the strategies you discussed for building up a stronger relationship w/ Chase via other accounts & decreasing existing CL's make sense. Great video Stan!
Thanks Matt! Yeah, I've always been a big fan of high credit limits, but with Chase, I think I need to take a different approach. I need to start building up that relationship so more credit could hopefully be available in the future!
Congrats on getting this powerful card and appreciate the credit limit discussion! I think I'm close to an aggregate credit limit that Chase might have issues with. Thankfully that shouldn't be a show stopper as you pointed out.
Thanks Monty! Yeah, it could go either way if you wanted to do a CL decrease or not, but if not, it just takes a little more work after the application is put in pending review or declined status. Knowing the game is the most important!
The card looks pretty nice in the light Stan. Thanks for taking the time to explain exactly what Chase did to approve you and your strategy moving forward. I wonder how Chase would treat me if I got to my limit 🤔
Appreciate you sharing the credit cap info! IHG Premier and Business are some of my favorite drawer dwelling cards....no spend needed and yield positive value!
Of course Andrew! Yes, looking forward to keeping this card around for the IHG benefits and the free night award. Definitely good choices for net positive value!
It'll be exciting to see how you use your IHG points when that time comes. Requesting a credit limit decrease is something I've though about doing for a while because some of my personal cards have higher limits, but Chase keeps approving my applications so I haven't had to worry about it yet
That's awesome Jacob! Yeah, I would just keep on applying until you hit the dreaded In Review or Declined situation, and then you'll know that it's time to implement those CL decreases. I've already used those points to book a hotel for my honeymoon - 4th night free!
love the "high tech" blocking of you personal information. Kidding aside, what you did is much smarter than the folks who use electronic highlighters/markers to cover up personal details since all that can be removed by someone that fairly sharp w/ various systems. Thanks for the info on the IHG biz. I keep thinking about getting one but their limits on SUB's are difficult since I already have a personal IHG card.
Haha, thanks! Yeah, if you already have the personal version, no need to get the business version unless you want another welcome offer or another anniversary 40k free night!
Some valuable info! That’s exactly why I don’t request a CLI for any cards. I’d rather earn SUBs which means I need smaller limits, hopefully I don’t have to request a decrease but we’ll see
Yeah, I used to ask for CLIs with Chase, but now that's backfired a little bit. It can happen to anyone - it's just part of the game, but keeping those limits as small as possible on Chase cards makes it a whole lot easier when it comes to applying for new Chase cards!
You should go for a credit limit increase on the oldest of the 2 biz cards you already have. As long as you have not requested one in less than 6 months ago, they will probably double it... then you could transfer the new limit as necessary
I think the issue is that CLIs won't work because I've reached my max limit with Chase. At this point, I need to decrease my limits to make room for more cards!
Thanks! Yes, it sounds like a great offer - I think it's 5 nights worth up to 60k each (300k total value, if you maximize!). I'm not in the position to get that card right now, but hopefully I'll be able to eventually, probably next year.
Stan I have 9 active Chase Cards with less total credit than you Around 75k The reduction of current limits works perfectly for someone using other credit card set ups as well
Nice looking card💪 Interesting outcome, thanks for the data points and for sharing your future strategy with Chase. Keep up the great work mi hermano!🫵

Thanks CJ! Not entirely sure how Chase would handle your limits, but only one way to find out!
Recently acquired the chase sapphire reserve and still got the white envelope. Don’t expect any luxury packaging from chase in the future
That's unfortunate. I remember getting the Ritz Carlton card in a nice package, but maybe that's gone the way of the dinosaur as well.
LOL 3.5 trillion in assets and this is the luxury treatment from Chase. 🙄🤣🤣🤣🤣

Nice pickup! Thanks for the info + video!
Thanks and you're welcome Jimmy James!

11:44 were you able to figure it out ?
I just applied for this card and was untested in the united bank credit
Yeah, the names on my Chase account and United account had to match up exactly. Then, I was able to sign up for the $25 United TravelBank credit!
@ sweet that’s great to know,
I’m currently in the process of changing my name on united! I emailed them today about it

Does the IHG Premier personal ever offer a point SUB instead of FNCs?
Yes, the one I got was 175k points for $7k in total spend.
@@TheCreditFrog Nice! I think I'd rather have that than the FNCs.
The card looks fancy and metal in the thumbnail 😂
It sure does! I wish it looked better in person tbh though haha!

First!
Congrats CJ! You are FIRST! 🥇🏆
Gratz on the IHG card! I hear there is a new bonus of 200k, are you going to try to get it?
Thanks! Yes, it sounds like a great offer - I think it's 5 nights worth up to 60k each (300k total value, if you maximize!). I'm not in the position to get that card right now, but hopefully I'll be able to eventually, probably next year.
Oh sorry, I just saw this offer that was posted on July 15th. No probably not, because I already have this card, hah!

Yeah, I need to reduce my limits because there are more Chase cards I want to get!
DOC just reported 200k sign up bonus. Personal card also has a 5 night high offer now.
Welcome offers keep getting higher! Personal card has a good offer right now too, but will probably need to wait until the next go around.
Since this is a cobranded card, what do you think My chances are of approval at 6:24?
Your guess is as good as mine! If over 5/24 could go either way.
sucks they automatically picked a card to lower as the Unlimited is probably the best one to have the higher limit on with 1.5x catch all.
I got to pick the card, but for me the CIU isn’t a card I needed a high limit on. But in general, yes! The catch-all card should have a higher limit!
Nice looking card💪 Interesting outcome, thanks for the data points and for sharing your future strategy with Chase. Keep up the great work mi hermano!🫵
Appreciate it hermano César!! Yes, of course! Gotta keep working on that strategy!
