Totally agree, barbs for us are our number one type of fish! So Hardy and beautiful! Happy to hear you hadn’t heard of all the types! Them Jae barbs are something special if your into the nano barb but super delicate! We were lucky to own them for around a year, sadly we lost them though… but never forgotten 👍👍👍

@Audra Meyer tbh your probably know way way more about Killifish than we do! I still don't understand why they aren't the most popular fish out there because their colours are to die for! This is probably the biggest mystery of fishkeeping going, and I even asked Mrs Aquadiction the other day why don't we keep more killifish.... no one has an answer; conspiracy theory away it's like you just forget about killifish for some reason, very very strange!!! I want more killifish, but 2morrow I will forget about killifish ....... very oddd
@@Aquadiction For me, I had to come to grips with a lid being 100% required. I like open tanks with plants and wood and all that jazz coming out of the top. No matter how low I would drop the waterline, they would jump out and typically die. I stopped keeping them for a bit and realized I missed them bunches. They are just so quirky and stunningly beautiful 😍

I’ve recently discovered “Melon Barbs”. I managed to get 6 of them but I would like more. They are not easy to find where I live 🇨🇦

We currently have 12 species of barbs in the fish room, starting breeding projects all all of them over the next few months and will post videos of fry development in macro so could be interesting! Did one of these videos for red panda barbs a couple weeks back and really enjoyed making that video and watching the fry develop 👍
@@Aquadiction I have Aurulius, Odessa, Rosy, checkered, black ruby, gold , cherry and tiger barbs. Always looking for another. I currently breed Odessa and Rosy barbs
Aurelius is on our life of wanted, have you heard of Narayan barbs or pethia stoliczkana? Both great hardy and rarely seen barbs

As for the Narayan have seen them in literature but never for sale.

i wonder what draws the line between a barb and a carp. some barbs get several feet long like the catlocarpio or giant barb

Panda barb also called Melon barb is gorgeous and needs to be on here!
I can’t believe we forgot to add them, we have 200 panda barbs growing out right now in the fish room and have had them for absolute years….. and have done a red panda barb breeding and fry growth day in macro day 0-20 video ….I don’t know why we forgot them 😞! Thanks for pointing it out bud

We will update this video at some point with at least 10 other barbs we will be adding to our website soon, probably rushed this video TBH but appreciate your comment bud!!! Keep an eye on our website as its under complete redevelopment then we have at least 10 new barbs to add we have not seen mentioned anywhere on youtube but are STUNNING!! (not giants, mid sized to small barbs)
So many beautiful barbs I’ve not kept, in fact the only barb I’ve kept is tiger barbs I liked them, I’m thinking of getting a group of cherry barbs to breed out🙂 thank you very much for the eye candy mates!🙂👍🏻💯⭐️

I'm trying to get me some checkered barbs, with some red cherry barbs, in a sweet setup I also love gold barbs I had some tri color gold barbs a few years ago, but funny thing about me is I'm really picky on my fish, I'm a barb guy, not a tetra guy, barbs are just perfect to me, right now I have 5 big T barbs in diffrent tanks, but if I had the money I'd do a giant red panda tank, or mascara or filament idk I love them all..
@Nanoscape30 thanks for sharing your thoughts, dude, I have to admit I am a Barb guy myself, we have kept so many barbs over the years, and they are, in general, so much hardier and more fun than Tetras, so I completely agree! Mascara are amazing. Sadly we lost our group after redoing the main aquarium in a previous video! The red Pandas we also have, sadly, the females aren't so great. Ironically I actually forgot to add them to this video, and the strangest thing is we currently have them in the fish room and have even bred them, so not sure why I forgot to add them.... Currently, after some Arulius barbs after seeing some in a display tank at a local fish shop, working on that video now, they are actually stunning fish, and most photos online don't do them justice!
@@Aquadiction awsome man, arulius barbs are great, i like fins and the orange coloration on them, the most issues I've had with barbs are with the red panda males, they were so agressive 24/7 they would bite each other and one dominant male wanted the other 3 dead! I had to rehome them sadly but kept a small group only for about a year or so it was a big mess, I hope I can get some checkered barbs soon like 20 of them so I can put some red cherry barbs with them I think that would be a great look, but focusing on small barb species bc I live in a 3rd story old house attic, renovated so I can't keep a 75, or I may fall throught the floor but I really glad to see that you love barbs, it's good taste in my opinion, there shape, attitude and appeal are just something I think is perfect, they just fit me, im a puffer guy aswell, trying to get a group of red eye red tails 🙏 that's my dream, love you channel you have great content 😊
@Nanoscape30 That's a shame about your red Pandas, ours aren't to bad but it could be because we keep them with other similar barbs (Narayan) and that could dilute the aggression, maybe. One day I'd love to have a tank of 50+ Denison barbs as a species only but I also would love to have a lot of other barbs as single species only. JUST TO MANY FISH, NOT ENOUGH SPACE lol! @@Aquadiction I think this is personal, but fish keeping being a calm pass time, I would avoid electronic repetitive music. This kind of music just does nto fit the peace and tranquility of fish keeping. Other than that you put what you want.
