Good evening Eric and Christopher! Wifey and I were in Boston all day and as soon as I got home, changed, checked out my gardens, I jumped on to your channel, sat back with a big mug of lemon ice water and watched this video. Your wall of Limelights along your fence is my inspiration. I’m trying for this for the front of our house to block out a huge area of natural woodland in a kettle hole. They need pruning but they’re getting there. Thank you for taking your time to film these videos - they inspire, educate and entertain those of us who love to garden. Hoping to see you at the Hydrangea Festival at Hyannis Country Garden. I’ll be there (wifey has a family thing she can’t miss but has given me her blessing to miss it so “go see your TH-cam guys”) LOL!

Hi Christopher and Eric. Your property is gorgeous!! I love that you are in zone 5b-6a. I live in Nova Scotia, and in the same gardening zone. I have been gardening since we built our house in 2000. I wish I knew then what I know now!!! I’ve made so many mistakes and wish I had discovered hydrangeas back then but did become obsessed with hydrangeas about 7 years ago… I have at least 350 hydrangeas in my gardens now, my big leafs being my favourite. We have approximately 1 acre of our 2 acre property fully landscaped. You mentioned in your June tour that you put your big leafs in full sun. Mine in full sun will burn. I also have to wrap the big leafs during winter in order to get blooms. I get so much enjoyment from your videos!!! I so look forward to your videos. You are so knowledgeable especially since you just started in 2018. On my bucket list is to visit the hydrangea festivals in cape Cod!! I follow a few gardening TH-camrs but you guys are my absolute favourites!!! My blooms are behind yours for sure but I’d love to send you some pics of my gardens when everything is in bloom to get your honest opinions/suggestions???

@@growformegardening I purchased frost protection tree/shrub blankets from Amazon. They are a thick breathable bag that you pull over the shrubs. Lots of different sizes. The larger shrub bags come with full length zippers for easy pull on. All sizes come with draw strings. Very reasonably priced. The last 2 years I experimented by growing some in containers and overwintering in our garage. The first year I did that they flushed back beautiful with lots of blooms. This year I ended up with lots of blooms but the foliage is very spindly so they will be going back in the ground. The ones I overwintered in the ground with the protection bags came back with tons of lush foliage and now have lots of buds. Weight of the frost protection bags are 1.77 oz, I wouldn’t go any lighter. I tie the branches in a bit with yarn which makes it easy to pull the bags on. Are there certain big leafs you have that do better than others in full sun and vice versa in shade? Sorry for the long comment but I didn’t see your email on your home page

    • @sharonoulton5359

Love the tour! Will you do a video on all your evergreens? Just like the video you did on your deciduous trees? I need to add more evergreens.

Wow!! I just stumbled onto your channel and I'm so glad I did. Your garden design is perfection with the combo of colors, textures, heights. Love it!! About your banana cream daisies... did you divide them and just separate them a little to put back in the ground in the same area? I got some this year and I don't love the round glob appearance. Yours looked beautiful! Also, drunk pruning made lol.

Welcome!! We are happy you are here. Yes Eric divided the clumps and spaced them out in the same area

Wonderful garden tour as always🌸, absolutely love everything. Also love how you did the square flower beds around the trees, I have never seen that before, everyone always seems to do round beds. Great job!

Eric saw a clip about how King Charles does the square around his fruit trees!

I saw that you are going to Cape Cod next week. We just returned this morning after a 3 day getaway. The hydrangeas are the most stunning color blue and they are everywhere. Enjoy! PS if possible, get in there very early, the traffic can be challenging.

Also, I cover the deers fav plants wlight frost cloth every night & remove it after they have past through my yard. It has been 100% effective. It did blow off some hostas last night so I lost a big sum & substance. I’ll be sure to tack it down better tonight. (Light weight would be .55 oz). Not sure about the meaning other than .something is lighter than 1. Something.

I have to admit out of all of the gardens that I watch on TH-cam. You guys do have the best colors & layering in your beds. I must say I like it better than GA gardens.

You GUYS❣️ Wowzer on all your garden beds 😍! Just left New England after visiting for work with a visit to Gardener’s Supply & Pleasant View in New Hampshire. While there I found and left with a ‘Gabrielle Oaks’ DA rose & the hard to find ‘Haas Halo’ hydrangeas. Thanks for the inspiration!

Looking gorgeous! You two have done A LOT of hard work.
You may want to do some selective pruning around your Empress Wu base. It will help with the air flow between your oak leaf and Empress Wu to keep the pest control down. Also, keep an eye on that anemone. Usually around the 3rd season it will take off and take over. It is such a pretty plant, but it turns into a bit of a thug as it matures.

The Empress Wu are just over the top this season...there will be some work done. I would love the anemone to spread a little...it disappeared for a few years
