He had such talent, he could find things inside a song and vigorously develop them. He found things that other people wouldn't think of finding in there. He probably improved upon it by the spaces he was using. I took license with the song from his version, actually, and continue to do it to this day."[63] In the booklet accompanying his 1985 Biograph album, Dylan said: "I liked Jimi Hendrix's record of this and ever since he died I've been doing it that way ... Strange how when I sing it, I always feel it's a tribute to him in some kind of way."[64] In 1974, Dylan, with the Band, embarked on his first concert tour since his 1966 world tour. From the first show of the Bob Dylan and the Band 1974 Tour on January 3, 1974, in Chicago, the shows featured what Heylin described as a "Hendrixized" version of "All Along the Watchtower".[65][11] From the first live performance, Dylan has consistently performed the song closer to Hendrix's version than to his own original recording.

Still have my original press LP vinyl
When I found your notification I'm like heck yeah I knew that you guys would love this. Jimi Henrix is the bomb. BTW. Amber your hair is giving girl ❤
"Machine gun" (band of gypsies) live at the Filmore east concert. Video must watch - one of the best solos you will ever hear
If you can, watch the Live at Berkley concert video. Especially when Hendrix plays Voodoo Chile, (slight return) Hendrix was incredible.
I will never forget when I was 15 in the 60s and heard Electric Ladyland all the way through the 1st time . By the time it got to All Along the Watchtower, then Voodoo Chile (slight return) came on, it was something that you never ever had heard before and it has only gotten better. And I had already played Are you Experienced and Axis Bold as Love albums over and over , then Electric Ladyland came out. Then we !saw Hendrix in May , 1969 at the Baltimore Civic Center . From there Hendrix then played Madison Square Garden.
a great cover of a Dylan song
Great reaction, guys. One of the coolest songs across all rock sub-genres ever. There are literally 'three' guitar solos. The flamenco guitar, the wah-wah guitar, and the straight-up, no-frills electric guitar. Love the reverb behind the drums, too. Awesome song. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Top notch. Tippy top notch.
Omg, Luca is soooooo cute!!! Love his cheeky little smile & tongue sticking out at the end. He's getting so big now. Love you guys!
Never pause in the middle of a guitar solo!
One million comments says everything. When you listen to the Pinnacle and the one that influenced countless musicians. This was an anthem for an entire generation. All I can say is thank you for all you do. You are preserving such important music for future generations and allowing so many of us who experienced this life changing music to time travel to memories...
Jimi playing "The Star-Spangled Banner".
Now there's an Experience.
Makes you so proud to be an American.
Jimi playing Star Spangled Banner make me proud to be British because the tune is British 😊
This song is typically in every Vietnam movie out there
I'm inspired.
Please spill some sugar about the bi-weekly stuff you mentioned.
I raised 75k and Christina Ann Tucker is to be thanked. I got my self my dream car 🚗 just last weekend, My journey with her started after my best friend came back from New York and saw me suffering in dept then told me about her and how to change my life through her. Christina A. Tucker is the kind of person one needs in his or her life! I got a home, a good wife, and a beautiful daughter. Note: this is not a promotion but me trying to make a point that no matter what happens, always have faith and keep living!!!
Wow 😱 I know her too
Miss Christina Ann Tucker is a remarkable individual who has brought immense positivity and inspiration into my life.
I started with a miserly $1500. The results have been mind blowing I must say TBH
How can someone get connection to that woman y'all speaking bout !!?
This is in my top five songs of all time. The vibe just rips you to threads!!! Took Bob's great song and just blew it up!!!!! Fantastic!
Amber would have been a great 1960s, 1970s. HIPPIE CHICK
😍 🤗 😍
O.M.G.! That was awesome! I can't IMAGINE it being the first time I ever heard this song! One of my absolute favorites! Thanks!
0:04 as a follow up to this, should do the U2 version from Rattle & Hum. A nice classic tribute to Jimi and Dylan.
Oh this was and still is a huge hit. Jimmy does it great. You also must hear Dave Mason do it.
Written by Dylan, perfected by Jimi! Probably the greatest cover, with my favorite guitar playing of any song. Hearing this soon after it came out as a child blew my mind. As it did virtually every contemporary musician at the time. He completely re-imagined the guitar for everyone
I 'm not really one for "the greatest" comparisons, but it is one of the best, along with Janis' rendition of "Me and Bobby McGee.
It's amazing how many artists have covered Bob Dylan's songs. Jimi Hendrix made this one his own.
Trivia: Jimi's playing bass on this song.
Suggestion: "House Burning Down." Since it's release in 1968 nobody, not even Stevie Ray Vaughn or Eddie Van Halen, has equaled what
Jimi does on this song. 🎸🔥I'd love to see your reactions.
P.S. Your son is adorable. 💖
