I got the guitar version. Definitely now want the bass version. They work pretty well as a Preamp for home recording..just wish they had a 1/4 inch out, instead of the 1/8 headphone jack.

I'm hearing distortion on the clean. Is that the audio overloading or out of the amp?

This is very accurate it sounds like a very distorted guitar amp there are no options for a regular bass type tone or any bottom end...I just purchased it today and will have the extension speaker arriving tomorrow .Also you will have to buy a special 6.5 dc adapter it does not work with regular 9v adapters.That you have for pedals etc..........If you are in a situation where you cannot have a regular bass amp this might the right purchase for you. I found that using headphones can take away some of that speaker distortion
tu utilise le fly 3 et fly 103 ou juste le fly 3?
Can you use an electric guitar through the bass amp and have it still sound good? I know about the normal guitar amp version of the Fly but was hoping that the bass amp would do for both bass and guitar since I play both.
Hi it will work but it is biased to the bass frequencies.
Would be awesome if they introduced a 10-15w version of these!
check out the blackstar Beam, its works for guitar, bass, keyboard, and vocal mics. Only a little larger than this too

the Beam looks a bit more complex too, loads of effects/digital options that could be confusing.

I would rather have heard just the one Flybass. Not really the fair demo then mate. Stereo is always better. Should play one, than couple the external, and related costs. Very cool little gaffer this.

I use mine with a Stagg electric upright. Works great!

Is the 1/4in input TRS stereo, or is only the MP3 input stereo?
No; the main input is only mono.
Every product should be demoed by or in conjunction with the people who designed it.

i have guitar and bass, but i dont want to spend my money to buy that fly3 guitar and bass versuion,,
if it also can use for guitar, i dont have to buy two of these right ? it will save my money.. :D
Well the thing is if you use a guitar amp with a bass you can damage it if you play to loud. If you use a bass amp with a guitar the sound will be quite rough and you'll lose a bit of treble I think.
TIP: you can use a usb power bank to power the fly 3 with a usb to
5.5mm/2.5mm barrel plug (female).
edit:this is not recommended, and may not be safe. it doesn't play as
well or as loud with volume and gain turned up and overdrive on (ie the
sound clips in a way that is unpleasant and the on off / light dims only
when played hard ). it seems to work fine with headphones. NOT
recommended with a wall charger, battery only
amp is 6.5v, and usb is 5v.
(it is possible to get a 6.5v usb to barrel plug wire with an IC to
raise the voltage, they are not recommended, and i've never tried)

Hi, I really like your video. However you appear to be playing with fingers over 2 to 3 frets and not 4 frets. Why would someone playing punk/rock learn to play 1 finger per fret? Surely it would require a large hand or small bass for the average person?
Not large hands but a flexible, "intelligent" hand will be able to span it. A large clumsy hand is doomed right? Why play in positions? (ie 1 finger per fret). Flexibility to take on fingering challenges! If you learn the basics correctly you can then adapt them to your playing styles.
