To be honest, if you are using this kit everyday then it doesn't matter what other people think although suggestions can be useful. Using a kit is the best way to find out what you really need You understand that it isn't a wilderness survival kit, it's an everyday handy useable kit. ell done, you've obviously done a great job of making this into what you need.

yeah kinda made myself sick from eating Altoids, trying to empty the tin. I should empty it into another tin, but we don't really get Altoids in Australia, had to go to a foreign food shop to get it for $4 USD
Don't listen to fools about nail clippers. I have carried nail clippers and a nail file for decades before I heard the term EDC. Glad you found the Zebra pens, they are the best pens for the money. Upgraded the Zebra F-701 pen with a Space Pen Ink Refill and may need a couple more. One pen for the shirt pocket and one for the BOB/Get Home Bag. And a Fisher Space Pen Refill for the Altoids green and red Tin.(takes up less space). A lot of TH-cam videos on upgrading the F-701 pen ! May go all medal for the pen. This is one of the most well thought out kits I've seen. The biggest problem I have with these tins is finding any of the small items inside. The micro compartment idea is great!!!
You took EDC at a new level- even though in Greece it is impossible to find all that products and Amazon orders cost the double at least to send at Greece, BRAVO!!!
The best Altoids tin video I've seen. I don't carry an Altoids tin myself but I've seen many videos about them. But this is the first video that made me think: A tin like that would be great to carry. Well organized, great ideas.
More suggestions: The flat surface in the very bottom of the tin as well as the flat surface on the outside/inside of the mini tins can be used as a mirror or to put information like metric/currency conversions, additional phone numbers, etc.

Great channel! I watch your vids because I commute to the city for work and the items you review fit into my current lifestyle. Really appreciative of your honest reviews...I have picked up several items because of them and those items are working great in my edc. Definite upgrades to the stuff I used to carry...and I would have never come across them without watching your channel. So thanks.
Haven't read through all the comments so forgive me if someone already suggested this. Maybe you could apply a cel phone screen protector to the base of the tin, save the shine and protect from scratches.

Nice kit. Definitely urban friendly. I'm surprised you received flak about including nail clippers in your EDCs. Of all the things I carry, other than my keys, I find that I use my nail clippers more than anything else. Clippers will always have real estate in my preps.
Shawn Neal I'm not sure. I guess certain people find it "girly". I probably use them once a week. I used a fire steel once every couple of years. I try to integrate high use items into these EDC kits.
TheUrbanPrepper I agree, I use nail clippers for everything from nail clipping (obviously), to cutting fishing line, to clipping away dry dead skin from a cut that has been under a bandaid for a few days.
TheUrbanPrepper Now, I'm not sure when a 'nail-clipper' became "girly"... It's simply not the case. Clippers have a myriad of uses. I have one set, that has a leather sheath... The sheath also contains a knife blade, a can-opener, and an awl... I have no idea where/when I obtained it, but I've had it for at least 30 years...
I have to say, I wanted those extra compartments and I was so surprised that when I clicked on the link that it went right to Amazon!! Good work on that!!
The Kit turned out excellent and the use of those tiny magnets is ingenious. You continually find the coolest devices, tools, etc.! The effort you put into each video is amazing and the PDF's are tremendously helpful (I have a file at home for all your PDF's). By the way, I ALWAYS carry a dedicated nail clipper which I use all the time. I have a nail clipper in every bag I have. Can't tell you how many people borrow the clippers or ask if I have one.

For me, filming TH-cam videos is a long, lonely process that is mostly done between 12-3am once I get the family to sleep. I really need to stay self-motivated to keep cranking out new material and constantly trying to improve the quality of my videos. Comments like yours really help me keep up the motivation and I thank you for taking the time to let me know this. BTW, I agree. I use the nail clippers at least once a week. I only get in a tactical knife fight about once every 2 years.

You might be interested in the ratchet I have used for years, long before I had a real EDC. It's a Tengtools 1400b. I found it by chance in a car parts store and have never seen one on par with it until I saw your Topeak ratchet, yet it's still flatter! I use 50mm bits to reach the tricky screws! Nice kit!

Funny you mention TSA. Just made me remember all the times my dad lost money clips to TSA with tiny two to one inch blades in them. Even when I was younger I thought it was redicoulous.
WOW Those little magnets are a brilliant idea. I will probably experiment and glue a little magnet to the bottom of a bit to see if it makes the bit magnetic. Gonna probably end up buying half of the things in this vid especially love the small tins. Thanks for making this video.
I'm new to the term EDC but it looks like I'm onto something good! Always carry more than I need everyday but when you need something and can find it, it's a great feeling! Thanks!
Oh, and PS - I bought the nail clippers for myself. I too like to have nail clippers handy at all times because I cannot stand my nails to get long enough that they click when I type. Personal quirk and I imagine with the brand, they are terrific clippers. I look forward to receiving all $35 worth of enjoyment amortized over many years. :)
I'm amazed at how organized you are really awesome! It's funny because I'm very organized but when u see someone that does it better u feel not so organized lol
I'd also add a credit card fresnel lens to use as a combo magnifier and back up firestarter, the weight and space are both negligible and the uses are enough to warrant it in my box and if you use them, add in the screwdriver and screw set from an eyeglass repair kit and possibly a couple of strips of duct tape on the top and bottom of the kit. Of course, you can always add in a couple of safety pins to handle the glasses if you need them for the temple pieces
Thank You,I’ve thought of doing a similar Altoid Tin but was too dumb to think of using the small magnets!!I would try using cloth to keep it quiet,But I couldn’t pack 1/2 of your kit.Damn Smart.The only thing I would maybe add is a needle and some thread.But again,GREAT KIT!!!
The gum softpicks are a good upgrade. Better pill organization. Put the striker back on the lid. Interesting inclusion of the binder clip. Just to get your verbiage right, the tin kit is your secondary EDC. The other items you mentioned carrying (knife, flashlight, etc) are your primary EDC.
I peeped the PDF, and noticed how everything in the kit is reasonably priced for a kit. Plus, the items such as the Gum Pick which will be replaced daily, the link to purchase them is a nice touch. If I would recommend something: a dedicated EDC/Emergency bathroom kit build. Emergency t.p. (I recommend One Wipe Charlie's), toilet paper doo hicky for the seat, some soap, and a hand towel for bathroom places lacking these items while on the road. I mean, I hate going to use the bathroom, and have to create a way to dry my hands as the paper towel dispenser is empty.
DarkenIrishWolf Yes, everything is fairly affordable. A lot of it was reused from previous kits, so I only spend a little extra on new items. Thanks for the TP tip! That's definitely an important situation that people should be better prepared for.
In Hong Kong/China, businesses don't stock toilet paper in their bathrooms. (People stealing rolls or making a mess.) The usually every day carry there is a pack of tissues (you know those mini packs that are usually at the counter of every corner store? yeah those.). Even newspapers give away a single pack of the tissues with every purchase. Your idea is great for camping or cottaging. To shrink the size even more, you can get those pop-up towels (drop a few drops of water on 'em to enlarge them). toilet seat cover, soap (liquid?), and maybe hand sanitizer.
Aryaman Harlalka A separate kit might be useful. Pop-up towels, mini bottle of hand sanitizer, mini bottle of liquid soap, folded up toilet seat cover (disposable, of course)...
Your Altoids tin is getting really refined now. It looks like a great setup. You mentioned keeping band aids in your wallet, I do that too and have found it to be the best setup ( for myself) since I carry it most of the time I'm awake, I also keep a mini medi in my jacket, just in case. Nice! You've inspired me to make an Altoids tin for women. I have an edc pouch which I switch when I switch purses. Its not that big but will not fit in smaller purses and wristlet bags. An Altoids EDC will help in this situation. I wonder if you made on already for tactical tempress. Thanks for sharing your prepping tips. -Diane
This is a great video! I love your choice of tools you can tell alot of craftsmanship went into alot of the items like the little rachett and the clippers even have a stamp. I've never seen clippers like that. Thanks for making this video.
Great kit with some great ideas that I'm definitely going to use. Some things that I'll be adding that don't take up much space are a couple of buttons and needle and thread (just lost a button yesterday!); some dental floss for general cordage, etc.; and one of those micro tubes of super glue for cuts and general purpose gluing. If I can fit it in, I'll also try to add a small amount of stain remover, maybe sealed in a piece of soda straw.
Again, "very good" & you have got me hooked. I will follow yours & seek to obtain some possibly plastic items. I do have a splendid plastic corkscrew combined bottle opener that would fit perfect. However in the UK I wouldn't be able to take the tweezers or the mini multi tool on a UK aircraft. My wife had a pair of her favourite mini tweezers in her bag & they spotted them on xray & pulled them. However they did provide her with a padded bag & postage to mail them home, at a cost (£s)
This really looks all inclusive. Only suggestion I would make would be to add a couple of BandAids. Not only can they help with a cut, but use the adhesive part to hold little screws and other pieces together if doing electronics repair.
Hi. I really love your channel. This is a true story but a little bit gory but might make you think laterally. Some years back a man and his wife were on their farm drill fence holes with a tractor and post hole digger. At some point in the process while guiding the digger the lady got her arm caught in the machinery. Her arm was ripped off at the shoulder with massive loss of build. In this case a tourniquet was not applicable. Fortunately in this case the farmer had a bulldog clip in his tool kit. Thinking quickly he put the clip on the main artery which stopped the bleeding and saved her life. This is a horrible example but many ordinary things can be used in extraordinary situations other than what they were designed for. Stay safe and think.
I really do appreciate your reviews. I have the same nail clippers and they really are the best variety of compact clippers. For non-compact, you cannot beat tweezer-man! Anyway, flattery is often demonstrated by copying and I plan to copy yours!
I saw the Zebra pen in another video. The Zebra does take Fisher Space Pen refills. Just an FYI I think is worth mentioning. Great video! Thank you for posting!
Always enjoy watching your videos to the point where I begin to think that we all have too much time on our hands! Haha. A very well put together EDC, I particularly like the magnet idea. I carry a couple of small neodymium magnets in my EDC but hadn't thought of gluing magnets in to hold items in place. Atb.
Carl Houlton Haha.... Well, this particular project took months and months to finalize. It was a slow process that didn't sink up TOO much of my personal time. :)
The tiny mini-boxes are cool. I'd be a bit nervous about having so many magnets around, although current computer media or credit cards aren't so sensitive to magnets. The pen is perhaps a bit fat - pen refills are thinner and usually usable for writing. I too got the Kingston Mobility Kit recently and the tiny USB adapter fits in a small waterproof container just nicely, together with some extra MicroSD cards.
Great Precise video very thorough. The addition of the proverbs is great for remindings of the real purpose of your goals. Just reading them is helpful to me going through a rough time. The TSA safe tool is cool I actually had to look up what TSA meant before I agreed with the tool change out. I like the bits for the tool wrench I noticed it was missing a robertson bit ( square ) but I imagine only Canadians require that. I use it a lot so I'd modify those for my own use. Also like the hair Elastic. I have long hair. totally could be used as a rubber band substitute as well. By the way Canadian Preppers newest vid shout out to you brought me to your Channel.
Thanks for dropping by, Craig! Yeah, I haven't seen much usage needs for the square bit in my region. Canadian Prepper rocks. So does All American Prepper.
One other thing I'd like to mention is that I keep my various Altoids tin kits each in its own waterproof bag. I use aLokSak bags, they are "certified for diving, waterproof to 60m/200ft" and have "100% protection from water, humidity, sand, and snow" (according to the packaging). I've never noticed any moisture inside any sealed LokSak bag. They come in multiple sizes, but the size marked 5x4, which is actually 5" by 4.75", is perfect for Altoids tins. These are sold on Amazon.
I like the tools in this kit. I don't need fire starters or matches as I'm completely urban. If it came down to needing them then life as we know it is over.

Very interesting. I stumbled upon this looking EDC (Electric Daisy Carnival) videos. I was so bored I watched the whole thing. But still very interest that it's made it to model 2.2.
Hey TEP! I think a good idea would be to super glue the match striker to the top of the tin, because such a small strip is really hard to use if you can't get purchase on it because you don't have a good grip
Nice kit. You're an inspiration, can't wait to get my kit like that. 80% of that is useful for me. As a pharmacist, I would not recommend carrying aspirin like that, its hygroscopic and over time it turns a bit nasty. Try to keep them in the blisters if you can. I will see if I can carry a couple of band aids (not in my wallet I don't like that), a CPR membrane, and also a pair of nitrile gloves.

I'd also add a credit card fresnel lens to use as a combo magnifier and back up firestarter, the weight and space are both negligible and the uses are enough to warrant it in my box and if you use them, add in the screwdriver and screw set from an eyeglass repair kit and possibly a couple of strips of duct tape on the top and bottom of the kit. Of course, you can always add in a couple of safety pins to handle the glasses if you need them for the temple pieces
You can glue the match striker to the bottom of the lid of the mini tin or the minitin itself so it can be easier to strike.

Just to get your verbiage right, the tin kit is your secondary EDC. The other items you mentioned carrying (knife, flashlight, etc) are your primary EDC.

I peeped the PDF, and noticed how everything in the kit is reasonably priced for a kit. Plus, the items such as the Gum Pick which will be replaced daily, the link to purchase them is a nice touch.
If I would recommend something: a dedicated EDC/Emergency bathroom kit build. Emergency t.p. (I recommend One Wipe Charlie's), toilet paper doo hicky for the seat, some soap, and a hand towel for bathroom places lacking these items while on the road. I mean, I hate going to use the bathroom, and have to create a way to dry my hands as the paper towel dispenser is empty.
DarkenIrishWolf Yes, everything is fairly affordable. A lot of it was reused from previous kits, so I only spend a little extra on new items. Thanks for the TP tip! That's definitely an important situation that people should be better prepared for.
In Hong Kong/China, businesses don't stock toilet paper in their bathrooms. (People stealing rolls or making a mess.) The usually every day carry there is a pack of tissues (you know those mini packs that are usually at the counter of every corner store? yeah those.). Even newspapers give away a single pack of the tissues with every purchase.
Your idea is great for camping or cottaging.
To shrink the size even more, you can get those pop-up towels (drop a few drops of water on 'em to enlarge them). toilet seat cover, soap (liquid?), and maybe hand sanitizer.

A separate kit might be useful. Pop-up towels, mini bottle of hand sanitizer, mini bottle of liquid soap, folded up toilet seat cover (disposable, of course)...

Your Altoids tin is getting really refined now. It looks like a great setup. You mentioned keeping band aids in your wallet, I do that too and have found it to be the best setup ( for myself) since I carry it most of the time I'm awake, I also keep a mini medi in my jacket, just in case. Nice! You've inspired me to make an Altoids tin for women. I have an edc pouch which I switch when I switch purses. Its not that big but will not fit in smaller purses and wristlet bags. An Altoids EDC will help in this situation. I wonder if you made on already for tactical tempress. Thanks for sharing your prepping tips. -Diane

Great kit with some great ideas that I'm definitely going to use. Some things that I'll be adding that don't take up much space are a couple of buttons and needle and thread (just lost a button yesterday!); some dental floss for general cordage, etc.; and one of those micro tubes of super glue for cuts and general purpose gluing. If I can fit it in, I'll also try to add a small amount of stain remover, maybe sealed in a piece of soda straw.

Again, "very good" & you have got me hooked. I will follow yours & seek to obtain some possibly plastic items. I do have a splendid plastic corkscrew combined bottle opener that would fit perfect. However in the UK I wouldn't be able to take the tweezers or the mini multi tool on a UK aircraft. My wife had a pair of her favourite mini tweezers in her bag & they spotted them on xray & pulled them. However they did provide her with a padded bag & postage to mail them home, at a cost (£s)
This really looks all inclusive. Only suggestion I would make would be to add a couple of BandAids. Not only can they help with a cut, but use the adhesive part to hold little screws and other pieces together if doing electronics repair.

This is a true story but a little bit gory but might make you think laterally.
Some years back a man and his wife were on their farm drill fence holes with a tractor and post hole digger.
At some point in the process while guiding the digger the lady got her arm caught in the machinery.
Her arm was ripped off at the shoulder with massive loss of build. In this case a tourniquet was not applicable.
Fortunately in this case the farmer had a bulldog clip in his tool kit.
Thinking quickly he put the clip on the main artery which stopped the bleeding and saved her life.
This is a horrible example but many ordinary things can be used in extraordinary situations other than what they were designed for.

I really do appreciate your reviews. I have the same nail clippers and they really are the best variety of compact clippers. For non-compact, you cannot beat tweezer-man! Anyway, flattery is often demonstrated by copying and I plan to copy yours!

I carry a couple of small neodymium magnets in my EDC but hadn't thought of gluing magnets in to hold items in place. Atb.

I like the organization you have with the little tins
The tiny mini-boxes are cool. I'd be a bit nervous about having so many magnets around, although current computer media or credit cards aren't so sensitive to magnets. The pen is perhaps a bit fat - pen refills are thinner and usually usable for writing. I too got the Kingston Mobility Kit recently and the tiny USB adapter fits in a small waterproof container just nicely, together with some extra MicroSD cards.

Great Precise video very thorough. The addition of the proverbs is great for remindings of the real purpose of your goals. Just reading them is helpful to me going through a rough time. The TSA safe tool is cool I actually had to look up what TSA meant before I agreed with the tool change out. I like the bits for the tool wrench I noticed it was missing a robertson bit ( square ) but I imagine only Canadians require that. I use it a lot so I'd modify those for my own use. Also like the hair Elastic. I have long hair. totally could be used as a rubber band substitute as well. By the way Canadian Preppers newest vid shout out to you brought me to your Channel.

Love the video. Everything in this kit appears like it would be useful often! I may have to change my current setup as you've given me some ideas!
One other thing I'd like to mention is that I keep my various Altoids tin kits each in its own waterproof bag. I use aLokSak bags, they are "certified for diving, waterproof to 60m/200ft" and have "100% protection from water, humidity, sand, and snow" (according to the packaging). I've never noticed any moisture inside any sealed LokSak bag. They come in multiple sizes, but the size marked 5x4, which is actually 5" by 4.75", is perfect for Altoids tins. These are sold on Amazon.

Hey TEP! I think a good idea would be to super glue the match striker to the top of the tin, because such a small strip is really hard to use if you can't get purchase on it because you don't have a good grip
Nice kit. You're an inspiration, can't wait to get my kit like that. 80% of that is useful for me. As a pharmacist, I would not recommend carrying aspirin like that, its hygroscopic and over time it turns a bit nasty. Try to keep them in the blisters if you can. I will see if I can carry a couple of band aids (not in my wallet I don't like that), a CPR membrane, and also a pair of nitrile gloves.
I always enjoy how you are not afraid to do what works for you and not what everyone thinks you should do.
