- hey guys!! hope this helps those of you out who are looking at applying to go to camp this summer or any summer in the future! please let me know which agency you are using and if there's a few that I haven't spoke about in this video I'll make a part 2!

your videos are literally so helpful im struggling so hard to get my head around how to get to the right camp and not get low key ripped off by an agency lol. i just want to ask,, if you already knew what camp you wanted to go with, what was the need for bunac? and how were they able to help you?

I’ve organized everything without an agency! My camp had their own sponsor called CampGroup and they cover everything except flights without an additional fee! So you’ll keep your entire salary and don’t have to pay anything extra. I know they also have different camps registered with them so I’d definitely suggest them!!

Love your videos, so helpful and getting me so excited for camp. I'm hoping to go in summer 2023 but it's unlikely I will ever get the chance to go back for another summer again after that just because of my future plans, but I already know I'm going to love it and want to go back! Just wondering what it is you do or if you were in uni or not and basically how you've been able to go multiple times? x
Yay I’m so glad they’ve helped you out! It is hard to work out how you’d be able to go back for multiple summers around work and other commitments. I’m quite lucky that I’m able to take time off in the summer from my job, I’m a gymnastics coach full time and can work round the school holidays. My work is obviously much quieter throughout the summer with kids on holiday etc so that’s how I can take time off each year x
Hey, if applying through Bunac, how do you specify which camp you’d like? I’m looking at going for Summer 2023 but I’m scared I’d get put on a camp that wouldn’t suit me
Personally I’d reach out to camps direct, say if you liked the look of my camp you could send an application straight to them and it gives you more of a chance of going to a camp you really want to go to x

I just want to make sure that I get all the things included with the price such as the J-1 Visa and Medical cover etc as I would if I was to apply through Bunac, sorry for all the questions
Do Bunac cover flights or do you pay for that separately?
I sort my flights separately!
Even though Bunac seems to have the lowest costs, once flights are added it can be an additional £400 and for someone looking to do it cheaply as a student is it worth using one of the different agencies you suggested that includes flights as the ones in this video all lie around a similar price
Honestly no, not in my option, bear in mind that if you opt for a flight package with agencies you have additional money taken off your salary and your initial package with them costs more. For example a friend of mine used an agency with a flight package, paid much more initially for her fees and then only got paid $800 for the summer! I personally don’t think it works out cheaper doing it that way!

That’s absolutely fine! All I’d say is reach out to some camps direct if you want to speed up the process abit!

I just got a camp 4 days ago and honestly reaching out to camps and applying through their website was the best I could have done, good luck!
Have you ever heard of anyone using CCUSA? I’m going with them this summer but it seems like everyone is using Camp America !

Yes I’ve heard of CCUSA!! A few people I know have used them actually!
I think it’s because camp america is the most well known one

What about Ciee
So CIEE isn’t actually an agency they partner with agencies to help with your application. I go with bunac but still use CIEE aswell

@@brokentostrongessentials591 omg never mind it is an agency!!! I just assumed that because most agencies work with them to do your application that you couldn’t go through them direct but you can!! I’ll be sure to include them if I do another video!
If you wanted to go to camp more than once, do you have to use the same agency every time? Or can you use different agencies?

Yay I’m so glad!! And I’ve used the same agency three times now, some people do change but it normally works out cheaper if you use the same one x
