Hey guys!
So this is my Camp America true or false video, again some of these might be completely different at other camps but it might be quite helpful to hear about some of the myths around working at a summer camp and whether they are true or not for my camp!

Camp is 100% like love island. From both my summers there are probably 5 couples (a lot since it’s a small camp) still together now including me and my fiancé.

Love these! You should do a video comparing different camp cabin/sleeping arrangements - like how many kids in a bunk, some have more counsellors etc, bathroom setup etc

Not based in Sydney (yet) but I've found so many similarities with my camp and tyler hill! even down to our cabin layouts and 'cookout wednesdays'! Buzzing to head back out!

definitely hard to keep secrets lolll, I did really well I kept a fling on lock for most the summer then in the last week I gave in and told my friends and it spread like wildfire, our kids had a song thing they did as well on the last day, details of what they have heard and all, I didn't go to camp with the intention to hook up it just happened, but once it did, my main concern was I didn't want to be in the song, its something they are not allowed to do but do anyway, and as I was a specialist that didn't have a cabin of kids it was pretty easy to keep it on the low as I wasnt with the kids all night but yeah I regretted mentioning it whilst still at camp bc even tho it was like the last week and "close friends" its still got out of the circle and then it ended up in this song anyways, I never heard it but my friends told me someone told the kids and its in their poem or they write it down or something I was so upset, but atleast I never heard it lol, the only way to have secrets at camp is to never be caught and never tell a soul whilst your there

Heyy Vic.. I’m super interested in doing camp America but I’m sooo nervous as I get homesick😭 I was thinking of doing a day camp instead, would u think that would be better? And do u know anyone who’s done one, as I haven’t heard much people speak about it but I am interested as I’m someone who gets drained really easily🥲

honestly it’s hard to say because I’ve never been to a day camp. I personally love sleepaway camps and think you’d actually cope better with home sickness at a sleepaway because you’re so much busier! A day camp you may finish at 5 every day so you’d have a lot more time to sit around and think about home if that makes sense!! Stay tuned I’ve just done a video all about this though!

I went to a day camp and it’s the best! As you get nights and your weekends the only downside I’d say is you don’t get spend as much time with the American staff as they often end up going home after the kids leave, so night camps are the way to go if you want to get to know counsellors a bit more. However, I still made really good friends and highly recommend! Eagle Rock Day is the camp I went to if you’re interested :)
