You have mentioned about lot of uses for this vegetable but did not mention about its draw backs. GUAR GUM is produced from this and that is used by many as a main I grefient for making sweets like laddu. GUAR is cluster beans, and in the beans when it is ripe,its seeds are packed in a slimy pith like substance and by boiling the crushed green beans that material is separated and dehydrated to make Guar Gum. That sli.y stuff inside the beans is equally harmful. The slight bitterness of the beans is caused by certain elements which can give many problems for consumers and hence the brand are boiled and the water is wasted. Peopke say otherwise it will add to PITHAM though hhe expression is wrong,that water can gi e vo.itting and even giddiness. Hence to brin g down its effect,people add coconut and many protein rich Dalls or parippu. Its medicinal effects are overshadowed by immediate negative effects long term use or excessive consumption of sweets made of Guar Gum os not good. The Gum is exported for pharma nautical purposes and like many I dian medicinal items, the extracts are used very carefull measurements on allopathic medications. Example NUX VOMICA OR Kaara seeds.
