Thank you so much for this video. I am going to buy my first hair topper, and it is lighter than my hair color, so I will have to dye it. Thank God you mention the oil because I was worried about the lace.
Hello, I was wondering if I could buy a topper longer than my (short) hair, dye it pink and wear it over my naturally black hair and have the topper fully or partially obscure my black hair color? I don't wanna get a full wig because they're kinda expensive, and I don't wanna bleach and color my hair either. Would it look good? I suppose I could keep the roots dark perhaps. Or maybe not. What do you think?
hi there, how long is your hair? These type of Toppers usually look better when they're shorter than your original hair length because they don't have as much hair on the ends so they end up blending in with your hair. If you want to have a hair topper that covers most of your head and it gives you length then you'd have to go with a hair topper that has a base 8x9 which ends up being like a wig. To answer you questions about getting a hair topper and coloring it pink that is very possible. You'd have to buy a platinum blonde topper and you could use lime crime paints to color it pink, then you could color the roots darker to match your roots. But again if you have short hair and want the length too, you'd have to buy hair extensions to give you the length you need.
@@TressmerizeHair My hair reaches like a centimeter below my ears, so pretty short. I don't need the length, I just want the pink to mostly obscure my black hair. Ah, thanks! Platinum Blonde, noted.
Hi Brenda!! I am flattered, Thank you but unfortunately I do not offer custom coloring of hair toppers anymore. It would be the best for you to find a hair dresser that you trust and see if they would do it for you if you're not feeling comfortable of doing it yourself.
I am sorry to hear that. You could try bleaching the lace. I have a video here on the channel about bleaching knots of the hair topper which shows how to do bleaching of the lace. but you have to be very careful not to leave the bleach on for too long. I am not sure if it will work as I've never tried this before but it is the only way that I could think that it would maybe lift the color of the lace.
Hello, I just learned on another video that you can use Scar Away silicone scar sheet to stick on the hair line of your topper and it will look like human scalp. Look for "The Wiggy Woman" realistic partline hack!!! on youtube.
these are our Tressmerize hair toppers. It is not recommended to color light shades lighter because they might not take the color and also they're already porous as they're lightened, lightening them up further could damage the hair

When you color the hair at the roots, will it stain the lace at the scalp??
If you add any kind of oil on the lace prior to the coloring it doesn't stain the lace.

Do you think I could use baby oil? Very helpful video =)
I am not so sure, but you can try I think as long if it's oil it should work
I have a question -- how did you attach the topper onto the mannequin head without tearing through the silk cap? Thank you.
i go under the clips and then put it on a mannequin,
I think I want to have you do mine

Can i use vaseline and not oil?
not sure, never tried vaseline, oil is easier to wash out with a shampoo and vaseline is very sticky. I'd stick with oil.
How do you get the oil out of the lace when finished?
It washes it off as you use the shampoo to wash the hair.
I colored my blonde topper without putting the oil on before coloring and the lace turned brown. Is there any way to get the color out or lighten it?

Try rubbing alcohol with cotton ball definitely it will help

How do you get the topper to stay on the mannequin head?
I drilled holes in it and I use wig pins to secure the topper on.
What about using a semi permanent color so as to not damage the hair?
you can use semi permanent color on real human hair
@@TressmerizeHair Thank you!
I want to discuss a custom topper with you.
How do you get the oil out of the hair?
you use a shampoo to wash the hair and that will also wash out the oil.
@@TressmerizeHair will this method work with the silk based toppers?
@@ssilk3082 I am not sure! I am using a mono base
What make are the toppers? Can you lighten a blonde topper to an even lighter shade of blonde.
