To add my story here. I am btech in civil, started job as a system engineer with 22k inhand. Now after 5 years I'm a devops engineer with 22LPA in hand and I tell you I don't have much knowledge of all tools and people are sitting on 30Lpa+ with not much knowledge as well just some tools.

I have been DevOps engineer for more than 1 year now. I'll tell you some Realities about devops... 1. No code reauired is kinda gimic, i had to do coding in yaml(helm-kubernetes), yml(docker), python, groovy(jenkins), shellscript(linux), terraform, ansible and what not, so if someone is telling you, you need to learn docker-jenkins-cloud to be devops engineer but don't need programming language, either they are not really doing devops or they are not pushing themselves. 2nd - everyone's issue is devops issue... So qa, performance, developer anyone can come and tell u pipeline is failing, and worst part is even if you don't know their domain, you have to investigate , understand and tell them the issue which i think is the hardest, it's like sailing in dark and reaching right destination.... I'll give you exact scenario, assume one of your friend calls you, says he has written 1000 lines of code in the language you might not have even heard before but it's failing, so now it's your job to debug why it's failing but u can't rewrite it, you must debug it and tell him what's the issue........ If you are comfortable with it, then you are good to join devops :)

I am working as a DevOps engineer for 5+ years. It's for the freshers who want to learn DevOps . You have to be good in Linux adminstration, shell/python scripting for automation and learn some computer networking as well. I started as a developer at 4 lpa, now I'm at 6-7x of that. I moved into this by showing interest to my manager.

Yes, I do agree that DevOps has a rapid development... But, this hype of DevOps is only for a few years like 5 to 10 years... Later, the role might disappear... DevOps is a Methodology, which means It is a practice that allows code to be automatically built, tested and deployed to cloud. Now, AWS, Azure, GCP are different cloud platforms that help DevOps Engineers to accomplish this. To answer you, AWS powers majority of the startups and is quite popular, so you might get more opportunities there. GCP and Azure is used by MNCs so that is good too.. but lesser used.. so work accordingly. You can join sunday Live sessions at 5 P.M to clear your doubts

Yes, I think its fine to get things started but there are tools like K8 kubernetes, AirFlow, AWS Services, GitOps, etc which are gaining a lot of interest nowadays.. So i'd suggest, start giving interviews and talk about these tech as your interests, hope you'll gain a lot of experience during the process

Coding knowledge is more important to learn devops. Devops is not a collection of tools. For automation you have to increase coding knowledge and as well as troubleshooting skills and end to end business requirements. When i was freshers, got funny videos about devops on TH-cam like not require any coding skills. When i got opportunity to be a devops engineer, the situation was different. We have to write lots of automation scripts and set up infra via terraform and Kubernates. After working 3 yrs in devops field, now am entering in MLOPS.

You should first try to get into some bootcamp or training institutes which can get you into IR, if you don't want to look for jobs by yourself.. else you can even try all by your own.. take good courses and make projects, do internships under startups and keep interviewing with the knowledge you gain.. all the best.. you can even check the link in description for guranteed jobs

yes, you need handson experience as well as some projects to work on.. I would suggest. learn basic linux(playlist on channel) then learn docker then start AWS EC2, S3, etc and look for an internship. you'll do great, just believe in yourself and keep going.

DevOps is a Methodology, which means It is a practice that allows code to be automatically built, tested and deployed to cloud.
Now, AWS, Azure, GCP are different cloud platforms that help DevOps Engineers to accomplish this.
To answer you, AWS powers majority of the startups and is quite popular, so you might get more opportunities there. GCP and Azure is used by MNCs so that is good too.. but lesser used.. so work accordingly.

Yes, I think its fine to get things started but there are tools like K8 kubernetes, AirFlow, AWS Services, GitOps, etc which are gaining a lot of interest nowadays.. So i'd suggest, start giving interviews and talk about these tech as your interests, hope you'll gain a lot of experience during the process

Devops karne ka time ayega, focus on ur programming skills, start competitive programming if u already know how to code, learn core subjects properly (very very important), ds, algo, os, network, software engineering. Aur sab ho gaya to, u can learn aptitute! And mind u will also have to face m1,m2 and m3! Tmko lgta hai kya ki docter ke liye hire karne ke liye company ayegi tere yahan?

Coding knowledge is more important to learn devops. Devops is not a collection of tools. For automation you have to increase coding knowledge and as well as troubleshooting skills and end to end business requirements. When i was freshers, got funny videos about devops on TH-cam like not require any coding skills. When i got opportunity to be a devops engineer, the situation was different. We have to write lots of automation scripts and set up infra via terraform and Kubernates. After working 3 yrs in devops field, now am entering in MLOPS.

Meko 1. Python aati hai 2. Git aata 3. Linux commands thoda saa jenkins and docker kar rha hu abh.. Koy esa way btao jisay devops mein switch kar pau jald. Mena job chod di hai Robotics mein 7 lpa package tha mera abb mein iss package say nicha too nh jaana chahta bilkul.. Kuch btao ki mein isma ghus pau job secure kar pau... Apka abhari rahunga hamesha

Sir mai mechanical engineer hu and python ka certification bhi kr chuka hu but mai abhi devops ke side aage Jane ka soch raha hu kya mai isme apna career grow kr skta hu and isne starting package kitna hota h
