This is definitely one of the very few Gracie Combatives tests i have seen that was not bad :) you did pretty well apart from many very small mistakes that are expected from white belts and that 99% of white and blue belts just do because they have not trained enough years. ( Mainly going for something and losing control for 1second mid move or not being tight enough). Overall you did a lot better than almost everyone else i have seen doing this test. Its the first time i give a thumbs up to someone doing this test in 21 years ;)
bravo. and well coached. the BB is providing the exact amount of realistic feedback to ensure the student is doing the moves correctly. Well done all around and very impressive for a white belt.
Thanks for posting. Good breakdown of the forms from a Gracie perspective. Rolled with a guy from a Gracie school in Canada this past weekend and had a great time. My background is quite different, so we had a different approach on things and we were similar size (I'm heavier and stronger, but not lots) and both a little over a year of training, but it was a fantastic time. 25 minute flow roll with moderate intensity. Lots of these methods showing up and he had excellent guard retention. His physical conditioning was also very good, unlike mine. Haha. He was more technique driven and I was more position driven (although being smaller and much fresher, he often took top position). Always fun to learn from others on the mats!
You'll be fine, just break it down into each position and take it one at a time. Use the videos on the website to make sure you're grasping the finer details of each move. You got this!
This is to get your "combatives" belt, which is not the same as a blue belt. It is passing the beginner curriculum. I think blue belt typically takes another 6months to a year from here.
This was the test that got you Gracie Blue belt but Rickson stepped in and said : " Guys this brings shame to gracie name you cant give blue belt for demonstrating technique on video" So Renner had to adapt and invented the combatives belt that only exists in Gracie schools
Are you still training? BJJ Blue Belt now? Still testing for combatives? Was this Army Combatives belt testing? My professor does not test for belts. All of these techniques are required and some are trained more than others, but hearing called out and displayed is a different perspective.
@@khao4577 They wanted Sambo (boevoe version), because of the strikes and armed techniques, but there were not enough instructors in the US so Matt Larsen convinced the commission that Gracie Jiu Jítsu was equivalent and (this part is just my opinion) Brazil is a long time allied, so they created a program based on it. After Afghanistan though they had to include more stand up and other combatives methods because of human bombs and knives, but yeah basically the army does jiu jítsu.
Ahh your joking right ? “jiu jitsu saved my life” isnt in regards to self defence, it’s about training and practicing the art giving you outlet . Guns are a powerful tools but last I check 100s of millions maybe billions have died with guns in their hands in combat.
You lack common sense grass hopper. You won't have a gun on you all the time. And knowing how to excape and counter headlocks and bully holds and common attacks by untrained attackersis a great extra skill along side your fire arm. Just ask any cop.
Great Job young man. Very Good Technique. 2nd Degree Black Belt in Bjj

Awesome great job OSS. Great display and execution of techniques.

Well done! Hopefully you were pleased with how well you demonstrated your knowledge. I was certainly cheering for you.👍
Thanks Kip!
That was impressive, great job! I just got my first stripe. I have a ways to go before I can do this.

What was your final score. I think you did really well.
Awesome job congrats....
Thanks bro
Gracie Combatives: Don't leave home without it!
Wow! Awesome job man!
Cool to watch.
Is this to get your blue belt?

@@lordad The old blue belt was never a full blue belt, but yes, it was a big marketing mistake by Rener and Ryron.
did you pass?
This was passing but not enough to become an instructor
I'm pretty sure you have to go to new york to be an instructor
@@zjw5
How can he not lol
@UCHbfIRv1iE-gAok6xgmVEZgTo become an instructor requires a passing mark of 95/100.
Awesome. Did you find that you could apply all this immediately when you started live sparring?
Absolutely. It gives you great reference points to manage every type of position you find yourself in.
@@zjw5 great to know. I’m gonna sign up when I move! Thanks
testing today finna ace ts
Good luck 🙏

No has nothing to do with Army.... Renner Gracie made a Programm like 14 years ago and named it Gracie Combatives
@@lordad After I made the post I read the description. Army now allows civilians to test for their Combatives program and belt for it.
@@hubriswonkthe army does jiu jitsu?? That’s badass lmao

In many schools even in purple belt they don’t know all that.
Shame. What’s going on there?
Yes i was almost killed a few time
Jiu jitsu did not save my life
A gun did
You can't use a gun against a conservative opponent.
I have had weapons B4 but God spared my life. Cemeteries and prisons are filled with people that carried guns knew martial arts and knew how to fight.
