This is wonderful. May I ask what hardware you use to record your videos? I want to get set up to do simple overhead demo videos but have no idea what I need to get. Thanks! I always love your videos.
It’s for precisely the reasons mentioned early in the video that I left a new, fledgling commercial art career 40+ years ago and instead went into healthcare. Nursing school required much time, disallowing time for creativity, so it withered. I left my beloved nursing career when things went south during “pandemic” which has forever changed that field. I’m now into year two of a sabbatical (some might call it retirement after 2 years, but that’s entirely too sedate a word for my preferences) and am now playing with watercolors and your videos are some of my favorites. The fear of a blank canvas/sheet of paper can be greater than a disaster in the operating room, watching your videos helps lessen that. Thank you for sharing such beauty, vulnerability and sensitivity to a world greatly in need of such things.
For me, creative bliss comes from the act of creating, not the finished art piece. More often than not, the finished art piece leaves me feeling incomplete and very humbled. I feel the bliss from taping down that piece of watercolor paper and setting out my paints. From swirling my brush in my favorite pink, red or, yellow then watching it wash from dark to light on the page. If I hope for certain outcome, I'm most likely disappointed in the end. So, I recognize the joy I get from the creation process. ❤
I’ve learned so many things from you but my favorite thing about you is that you let us see the difficulties along the way. We all have them but so many don’t share them.
I have been saving your videos to a watch-later playlist. I have been feeling that I want to get back into watercolor. I used to be pretty good when I was in high school, but now I am 66 years old. It has been a while since I picked up a brush. I have a picture of my beloved friend's house. They passed away in 2021. The kids are selling the property and I have been so sad looking at the realtor's photos. I have wanted to paint the old stone house for years. I think I am running out of time, so I need to get to it! Your videos have inspired me to get going again! Thank you!
Dear creative Cee Cee, THIS is precisely the sort of video I wouldn't have known to ask for but am deeply drawn to these days. Life has thrown me some rather destabilizing challenges, in the form of radical changes to my chocolate business and a concussion that is messing with my concentration abilities (even more than the normal ADHD stuff). It is impacting my ability to be creative and yesterday was a "deep valley" sort of day. Waking up to this and knowing that, in a few hours, I can set aside time to simply "Be" with your calming, creative process, and remember the joy of just exploring... this might be healing. Please revisit this type of video, whenever the muse hits... otherwise I might just be stuck replaying this one. 😉🥰
thank you for sharing your story, Kristi. your comment has helped me and reaffirmed that i'm on the right track. thank YOU! sending you strength and courage and lots of joyful creative vibes. it doesn't have to be complicated to be enjoyable, right?! 😊
your story resonates in me. i too am ADHD and have been concussed several times. i know your struggle as it is mine also. wishing you all the best and hope this passes quickly for you
I have to stop myself from that "perfectionist" bug. Not only is the process more relaxed and enjoyable--lots more enjoyable--but the 'less perfect' art is actually prettier! I end up with a more artistic piece when I stop being a perfectionist.
I just miss you so much. I get really excited when I see my little bell notification that you have put up a video. Thank you thank you thank you dear friend for being here with all of us❤
I connected so much with what you were saying at the beginning... I have all of these passions and get devastated when one day my hands won't work like they did the day before, that burn and fire isn't there. I used to have such a passion for drawing and watercolor but never allowed myself the time to actually sit down and study, life always feeling rushed. Is there any specific classes you followed, watched, or even paid for that you felt helped you understand your mediums and how to use art as a therapy? I struggle to let go of the perfection of it, feeling like I have a lot to get out but don't know how to express it. Thank you for this video (: Makes me realize I'm not so alone in feeling this. I always wonder how others push past it too.
thank you for your comment. i have recently purchased a Domestika class by Adolfo Serra called " Illustration Techniques to Unlock your Creativity" and that really helped me. his approach to art is so organic and stress free. it's in spanish but there are subtitles. you'll find it on Domestika.com (this is not sponsored by the way). and you are not alone indeed! wishing you a lovely day!
I am so thrilled that I had a big clear out of my sub channels, and found yours again. I wanted to keep yours, as I find your art most stunning. It is almost sensual. You are so calming to watch, and just the right music to really feel like you can melt into the experience of watching. I adore that quote that you read out. Absolutely beautiful. 💜
Hello Ceecee, I only recently discovered your channel, and I've been bingewatching it since. Your art is so beautiful, and your creative process so inspiring ❤
Great colour swatching example ! Thank you. Interesting to hear your negative end of Winter description. It's an unpleasant truth that I admit to share. Thank you. Love it ! THANK YOU !!!
Ah CeeCee!!!! ❤ Just when I need it, one of your videos along with your wisdom shows up on my TH-cam feed and thank goodness!! I am kind of feeling a lull in my creativity right now (well, not overall, but for my channel I guess). It's always so reassuring to know that other creatives, especially ones I admire, also have these types of challenges. I appreciate you sharing your tips and tricks for working through these challenges. In one of my favorite videos of yours, you shared advice you had gotten to "create for yourself first" and this is advice I always return to when I hit a wall, so to speak. It is so helpful and reignites my creative spark. Thank you for being you and thank you for sharing 🥰 Now I'm off to grab some paper so I can join you to paint 🎨✨❤
I've watched this video 3 times already, in the 2 hours since it dropped. I didn't paint along, but I watched and listened to the beautiful, peaceful music, and assembled a small lap-sized painting kit while I watched, so that I can paint along from my couch, even with all the clutter and chaos I'm trying to get on top of in my home. I felt my anxiety and real-world burdens lifted for a blessed space of time, and while I have all the supplies you listed, (even the Art Nouveau set!) I'll just for now use 4 little dabs of color on a small 5" plate, and a same sized sketchbook, until I can make a true space for painting. But this I can do, and I've been so overwhelmed by crises and clutter that I stopped all creative activity, so you've opened that door for me again. Words are inadequate for my gratitude to you for this gift this morning. Thank you, thank you. 🙏🏻💙🙏🏻
Carla thank you so much for watching so many times. wow! i'm glad it has brought you a few moments to get your art supplies organized and brought back the inspiration to create again. Have a wonderful week! 😊
Oh my word, CeeCee, I found you again. You have such an amazing connection with your viewers. I identify with your struggles and I also understand that the comments of friends and family are made with love, BUT they an cause even more guilt and anxiety. My desire to create has been dormant for many months. You have once again encouraged me to practice and enjoy the beauty of the process. Hugs, Carol S
Thank you CeeCee! It made my morning to see you back❤ I understand taking time away from your art when you just are not feeling it and sometimes the Pressures to create can really kill the Mojo. Your swatch today was lovely and peaceful to watch. I hope you are feeling rejuvenated again and the joy of your art comes flooding back…. If not.. i will patiently wait. You are amazing❤
What a fabulous sharing of your thought process! Whenever I feel you couldn't get any better at teaching us, you step it up a few notches and give us more to contemplate and to work with. I love you and when you are going through hard times, whatever they may be, I just want to give you a big hug!
Just saw this recent video; oh what a gift you have given me this afternoon. All sound has been silenced in my home. My breath slows down and I let myself totally relax. Thank you so much for sharing your artist soul with all of us. Be well and welcome back. ❤

I just love your videos CeeCee, they are so inspirational, relaxing and interesting. I also love your colour palettes. You are my favourite You Tube Artist and look forward to joining you on many more. Thank you x
Dearest CeeCee! Thank you so much for your inspiring video!! 😍 It was soo worth waiting for! ❤️ Everything you touch really turns to gold! 🤩 Thanks again! 🤗❣️
How wonderful to be with you making art in my little studio🥰 calm with beautiful music. I found myself looking across at your work every now and again. 😊very beautiful as always.
I LOVE the colors of the art nouveau set, but that is also my favorite period of art! Also chartreuse is my ultimate favorite!!! Beautiful greens when mixed......now an English landscape is in order.
New to your channel and thankful I found you. Your calm voice, and being able to actually see 'in action' the two water jars I have heard about, and thank you for that quote at the start. I needed to hear that and to write it down for my own art journal/ideas/notes as a reminder.
Thank you CeeCee! Was sitting here feeling blah from oral surgery Thursday, lamenting how I couldn’t do much of anything right now. You inspired me to pick up a pen and pad and do some neurographic art. Feeling much better now! You are good for the spirit! Much love from Florida 💖🌞
So nice to see your return…lovely intuitive composition…intuitive art seems much more relaxed & enjoyable as there is no set way or pressure to produce something realistic be it figures or landscape
Join the club. I am going through the same dead period. I don't have your deadlines. I am just a TH-camr with my art. I have learned a lot from your videos. I have learned a lot from you. Thanks for being there.
Absolutely the same from me. 🙏🏻💙 Just a scared, late in life beginner with a load of adversity that causes anxiety and stress, and a lifelong desire to learn to paint watercolor with no art education and a handful of wonderful TH-cam videos. So grateful for this video, at a particularly troubled low point in my life. 🙏🏻💙
I was just thinking the other day that I hadn’t seen a video from you for a while. I was concerned that you weren’t well and I am so glad to see you back here with us. I missed you. I understand the “spring” creative block. I find that I am eager for better weather and more sunshine, but at the same time my mind jangles with all extra things that need to be done once the weather turns nicer. I have a hard time carving out mental space to do creating when the energy of life ticks up. I know that once I have a chance to adjust, I will settle down.
CeeCee, thank you for this beautiful work. I've been in a slump for a few months regarding my own artistic creativity and appreciate your honesty and inspiration. I am trying to get myself motivated again and finding your video this morning is so helpful. I always love the color combinations you use. You've shown me a new and lovely way to swatch colors and create a work of art.
My want monster was almost gone for this product...then you demonstrated the beauty of this limited palette within a limited palette and when available they will be back on the wish list. Hope to see more of you talent. You are missed.
I ❤ watching your videos and listening to you….. you have a very calming affect on me? Thank you for sharing your time and energy. You are so appreciated?😊
So good to see another video from you, and what a treat. Such a gorgeous combination of colour, music and your calming voice. Only problem is, I now want to buy those paints 😂 but I will resist. I need to actually be making art with what I've got, not buying more. My partner always laughs when he sees me painting 'little squares' as he calls them, but this shows that they can be works of art in their own right. I'm glad to see the gold made an appearance too ❤
How wonderful to come here to youtube and see a new video is up from you!! As usual a most wonderful video!! Your soft smooth voice and the music makes me feel so relaxed! Am so sorry my friend, I were not able to do any art with you! I just had to sit and watch at what YOU were doing! So mesmerizing to watch!! Everything you do - even swatches! Turns into something beautiful and magical!! Thanks for brighten my day!! Wish you a lovely week! Stay safe and healthy!! Arthugs! 🥰
Me too, girlfriend. All the things I want to paint happen in the spring, and yet spring is when I'm at my lowest ebb for creating. It's sad because spring offers me what I most like to paint with a color palette I love but I am most artistically energized in autumn who's color palette is my least favorite out of all the seasons.
I came across your video while off work because of decision making exhaustion. Art is a hobby I do to help me after a week of doing a difficult job. But I am at a stage where I can’t paint because I can’t make a decision on what to do. Your video helped me a lot, firstly because I don’t feel alone and I will pick any colours, any paper and some water. Thank you and I wish you the best. Take care. H

I've missed sharing my calming, inspirational Sunday mornings with you. I'm grateful.
Wow, thank you Peggy! i wish i could be more active... i'm working on that. have a lovely Sunday 😊
You even make swatching into a work or art. Love this!
I agree! I really get into swatching also, and do it for every single piece I do, no matter how simple or complicated.
I love your “mistake.” Imperfection makes art better! Perfection is the enemy of joy.

I agree. You have a very peaceful tone to your voice that's soothing. I know it sounds weird, but even your hands are "soothing".
Thank you CeeCee for speaking creative angst so plainly! And then for giving us a quiet, encouraging space in which to be and possibly create.
What a beautiful and gentle soul you are.. Thank you for all you say and do.
Ceecee, so simple, so beautiful. Wish we could see your work more frequently. Thanks for todays video.

My partner always laughs when he sees me painting 'little squares' as he calls them, but this shows that they can be works of art in their own right. I'm glad to see the gold made an appearance too ❤
Update: I didn't manage to resist those paints 😅
Loved your video❤ Bravo🎉 and thank you! Being an artist is a lonely trajectory ❤

Am so sorry my friend, I were not able to do any art with you! I just had to sit and watch at what YOU were doing! So mesmerizing to watch!! Everything you do - even swatches! Mesmerized watching this video. Amazing what you can do with watercolors! ❤ loved this video
Thank you. Wonderful, calming, inspiring.
Take care. H
So soothing CeeCee thank you for sharing your beautiful art with us.
Beautiful piece CeeCee. Glad to see you got your gold in.
