BTW, I still have my 1987 CR500, it’s a true monster, I doubt these guys would run away from me. The 87 had the longer connecting rod which made a incredible difference.

RING DING DING DING DING!!! I rode two-stroke dirt bikes from 1971 to 1974. Mostly under powered and poorly sprung Yamaha 250 and 350. I MUST have a giant modern BIG bore two_stroke on my bucket list!!
That 700 🤩wow nice machine , I still am riding my 93 cr500r ,I’ve owned it since new , and is nut bar completely modded out , all these years and it still gives me goose bumps 😂🎉
I would love to ride that 700, 😮 at 55years old I started racing late at the age of 25. And my first race I rode a 1995 cr 500. Talk about jumping in at the deep end.😂 still racing to date and won't stop until I can't get on board a bike, . Great sport full of brilliant people. ❤
Actually, no. The 700 should have romped home way ahead if gearing was even close to what it should be. It should have had 70 or so BHP and started in at least second or maybe third gear and only made one gear-change or maybe no gearchanges at all? I used to ride and race a slightly modified Maico 490 that was dyno'd at 63bhp and geared for 125mph on high 'enduro' gearing and around 100mph on MX gearing.
so when is ken senior from the us bike museum having a go on the meg??? when it was built he said you had arranged it that was ages ago now. just wondering
Oh you gotta build a Honda CR500 for sure! I don't know if Kong is the fastest bike ....I do know your the best rider in this video Max...using the gear box better and body positioning is better...they didn't have a chance! I gotta say,Kong sounds fantastic! However, I luv YZILLA and dont know if its ok to be all about the Kong too......your just lucky that I wasn't riding YZilla....cause you would've got spanked!!! Lol! Great video man!
haha, its early days with Kong, Yzilla is my favourite bike of all time so Kong has some work to do. We are just waiting for some MX suspension for Kong then we'll see what its like on an mx track fully sorted. thanks for watching as always.
I am a BIG guy. 6'4" with a 36" inseam, 245lbs. The 700cc MEGLADON is made for ME!! I need the suspension customized (spring and damping rates) for my weight. I am a custom PENSKE rear shock fan. Ones that have separate adjustable HIGH and LOW speed compression settings, 10mm or more length adjustment, preload and rebound too, of course. But manual preload, not hydraulic.
This is a brilliant vlogg as usual Max , I didn’t want it to end , I sold my yz 250 Saturday and then got a RMZ 250 , it’s all done by fat head Racing in Devon, I can’t believe I turned to the dark side. Long live 2 strokes
What all three of you need to now is repeat the challenges, but this time each of you do all three challenges on all three bikes, and compare your personal times on all three of the challenges: "Meg" vs "Yzilla" vs "Kong." Cook video though.
Brilliant video once again! I’ve said from the start it’s all about the YZ500 but that KTM is starting to grow on me sounded crisp. If your thinking of building another beast make it a RM ? Keep the videos coming 👍🏻
My dad had a kx500 when I was growing up, my friends and I tried like hell to get it started he died when I was young and my mom sold it, I wish more than anything I still had that bike
Here’s the way I see it. Raise the needle and it’s way more snappy but tends to run hot. Bring that needle down a bit and run 15/42 the bike will still wheelie at 95mph in sugar sand
with BRC TBI conversion and the fuelling sorted its a real weapon , unbelievably quick. We're just waiting for some mx suspension then we'll do a proper test on track
Did I miss something? After the second challenge the Kong should’ve got 2 points, the YZ 1, and 700 0. Nvm, went back and rewatched it. The names and points weren’t displayed over their respective bikes.

Stupid question, but does Husky make a fuel injected 500 2T factory?
Thought YZ stopped doing big bore at the 1985 YZ490
Why didnt you use a Maico 700cc instead of building a custom one ?

all the over 300 2 stroke is just a 250 with a big bore kit then you got Maico that has there 700 that is 685cc
For next year, put two transfer port reed valves, preventing blow back.
The KONG 500 is the best out of them
Even on a flat field, when you are pushing that hard it is so easy to wipe out if you loose concentration for even a fraction of a second.
My dad had a kx500 when I was growing up, my friends and I tried like hell to get it started he died when I was young and my mom sold it, I wish more than anything I still had that bike
Hey Max you reckon you'd gimme a go on the 700?
do a rm500, no restyle kits, has to be water cooled and steel chassis
The first time he rode a dirtbike in 10 years and he RIPPED that yz500 insane
Can tell you are 4 stroke riders at heart and scared of those bikes 😂 too scared to even power into the corners
Why would you not choose the fuel injected over carbureted.
Pantera is building a new motor based off the CR 500. Just saying for next year.

Here’s the way I see it. Raise the needle and it’s way more snappy but tends to run hot. Bring that needle down a bit and run 15/42 the bike will still wheelie at 95mph in sugar sand
