I was born and raised in El Paso. I joined the military after graduating from Ysleta in 1995. I retired last year after serving 24 years and not a day goes by that I don’t miss El Paso. North Carolina is now my home but I will alway be proud and represent my city in the best way I can. I even have the star and the mountain tattooed on my forearm. 😊
Our famous architect, Henry Trost, briefly worked for an architectual firm shortly after graduation. Another young architect working there was Frank Lloyd Wright.
Very impressive video there Javi and Jo! you made me hungry and want to go back to the L & J Cafe! only being their once on our way to see the El Paso Chihuahuas at Southwest University Park.
Hi Javi and Jo, Great video on the city of El Paso. I will certainly be visiting L&J Cafe, the food there sure looks delish. I have plans on making several visits . My friends who travel into El Paso for business are always wanting to know what are some other authentic Mexican American restaurants to dine in. Do you have a some recommendations? How about a tour or list of some of the areas best restaurants to eat at? Thanks and Bon Appetit!👍
I have so many stories from living there from 1963 to 1992. Worked, played and had many many friends there. I miss the Mexican food a lot. Now about the alligators Drs. Lol
Love that you did this - I am definitely going to visit down town next time I’m in El Paso. I am glad you liked L&J’s love that place! Someone mentioned San Elizario to get some yummy asaderos from Licon Dairy.
Orale i really enjoyed your video guys ! I am born and raised in Chicago but have all mi familia ahi en El paso ( my moms side ) and have lived there a few times and visited every single year , never really done a walk tour like this but will def be doing one next time me and my family are there , i will be also be trying out the coffee shop and restaurant you recommended . i will be checking out more of your videos , take care and keep them videos coming !! p.s Maybe next El Paso video you can do one on the weekend ( so we can actually see some locals walking around ..lol ) and visit the local downtown stores . saludos y cuidense mucho !
Thank you so much Joshua, we hope to share as much as possible about our city, we reaaaaaaallllly wish we weren't in times of COVID and could do so much more!
It is very Nice Calm and quiet in downtown I just wish they had more stuff for kids from el paso to do .....childrens library is small Museums are small too... the zoo has very little animals food is expensive compared to having tacos and something to eat in juarez ....I think thats way its quiet in downtown el paso ,,cause everyone goes to eat to juarez restaurants most people in el paso buy there grocerys and meds and stuff too in juarez .....there cheaper. And summers are very hot hot hot.... to go out with kids outside they Reach up too 120 degrees thats why its called the sun city ......lots of sunny days ...so everyone is at home in there refrigerated air homes ...and having one is a must here ......GOD BLESS YOU ALL ...keep safe
I am thinking about relocating to El Paso with my job. I don’t know if it’s due to Corona times, but El Paso looks a bit boring lol. I’m curious to see what the locals do for fun. So far, it reminded me of Cleveland OH, but with far less crime and no greenery lol. I have a ton of questions, but I’m going to watch more of your videos before I ask :) loving the coffee ☕️ spots!
A lot of things are still closed and not many people out and about so it definitely feels different right now, so it's a weird time. But we still manage to find things to do!
This gay guy /pretty woman duo is awesome. Im still getting used to the guy speaking way more feminine than the woman. But I’ll get used it eventually. Great work!
The people of El Paso are very nice people the only problem they face is they are mostly Democrat voting because that is what they were told was the right way to vote because it will serve them better but that is not true because they fear what they don't know. I think if they open their mind to voting Republican they would be much better off.
