Your review is so thorough and informative! I just got the ochre classic kanken for work and everyday use, and I am loving it. 🥰 I can’t believe how much more room it appears to have over my other larger backpacks.
@@aed-9787 Thank you for the kind words! And thank you for watching! Oh, I love the ochre color too! I just got the laptop 15 in that color. Right?! They looks small, but they can carry so many things! 💕
I've had mine since 2019! It's the same model as this, honestly almost looks brand new after heavy wear on and off. And I have a dark graphite colour too, I love the backpack, it's style and durability but I agree it doesn't carry heavy items well, it doesn't distribute the weight well and pushes everything on my shoulders and the straps (i do have the foam back in there). But for daily use & work it's perfect. Just not for multiple heavy school books
My kånken is close to 10 years old and is almost as good as new. My tip: use a protective spray every other year or so. It helps to keep the bag from discolouring and also keep the waterepelent effect from fading. :)
I watched this video a year ago & you convinced me to get a Kanken, I want to thank you! It has been a great bag. I use it for everyday travel & for trips too. I got it in the Super Grey color.
You just convinced me to get my first Kanken at 30 years old. I’ll be traveling to England next month (my first trip abroad ever) and I bought the Kanken No 2 Laptop 15 in all black to take it on the plane as my personal item. I can’t wait for it to arrive, super excited for it. So grateful for your reviews! ❤
YAY!! 🎉 I hope you enjoy traveling with it! Have fun in England!! So happy for your first trip abroad! Take it all enjoy and enjoy every second of it! You will have a blast! 💕
Very helpful review! I’m 47 and recently purchased the art version in Green Fable. It has raccoons (my favorite), badgers, weasels and otters along with little twigs and leaves all over it. It’s so adorable. My college daughter convinced me to get it. That said, I purchased the strap pads and the internal organizer. It’s not super comfortable and am curious how I’ll like it as a travel bag. I’m used to packs with more organization . But no matter what, I’m keeping this thing bc it’s the most low-key cute thing ever.
Hi Amy! I just googled it, it’s so cute! I love that one! I do hope you enjoy it. I think the shoulder pads def make it easier for travel. But organization is a big bonus for travel too. Hope you enjoy! Safe travels! 💕
I researched like hell before investing in mine. The side pockets are actually for umbrellas . I use mine everyday but I'm using another backpack for my travel cause I want compartments. It's very good quality. You can feel how well it's made.
Yes!! Thank you Amy! Another person commented that the side pockets are for umbrellas which makes sense since they were originally created for school children. I had no idea, so it’s good to know. I love this bag! 💕
I love the Kanken too! I have a classic one, a classic mini and the sling bag. I love all of them, I find the straps comfortable but they have more sizes with a laptop compartment (13, 15 and 17 inches), reinforced seams and padded straps! It's made to hold more weight so you could get that for travelling as well. :)
Thank you for watching!! YAY! Another Fjallraven fan! Yes, they are such great backpacks! Yes, I've heard so many great things about the laptop backpacks! 💕
How do you get the ones with padded straps? Mines I had for over 2 years but I don’t have the one with the padded straps I have the ones with the normal straps
@@rosabelleraymundo1785 Hey there!! The classic backpack has the normal straps. Some of the other Kanken backpacks have the padded straps like the laptop backpack. Check out this video: th-cam.com/video/pS50LzYzPUI/w-d-xo.html And you can see the difference. 💕
Did you know that Fjallraven will actually repair your old Kanken? You have to bring it into a store that has a repair shop, but if you’re already travelling or live in the area of one, it would be a great idea :)
Washing machine on a cold wash is absolutely fine. I hate dirt more than anything else and ended up putting it in the machine against instructions. No problems. Much improved look.
I own the Leaf Green Kanken Classic, Ochre and Navy minis, Clay and Black Slings and LOVE each one! The one thing I would change would be to the side pockets. I wish they were more water bottle friendly. Did you get a new Kanken? I'm going to check your other videos to see!
Hi Cindy!! Thanks for watching. Yes! I love their backpacks so much! I think that would be the one thing I would change too. I did get a new Kanken, check out this video: th-cam.com/video/pS50LzYzPUI/w-d-xo.html to see which one. haha 💕
I don’t think any backpack is cheap these days and if it is, it will probably fall apart. Yes, I have two of them. I got the 15 inch laptop back. It is amazing. I also picked up a classic for 50% off which was a steal. It had to come home with me, no questions asked.
Did you know Fjallraven will fix this for free at any of their US stores? Looks like it split, perhaps from a heavy load with a sharp edge, e.g., a hardcover fextbook with a sharp corner?
Yes!! Thank you! Someone also left a comment and told me. I wish I had known then otherwise, I would have gotten it fixed. 😂At least I know now. Thanks for sharing! 💕
I don't know why, but I feel attracted to my Kanken and I got the urge/flow to buy another one :D I also looked at the wallet, it could be some kind of infection :D very dangerous :D thank you for your video :)
I use a small (16 oz.) Nalgene reusable water bottle. I also have a 32 oz Hydro Flask but don’t being it traveling that often as it’s a little too big. 💕
This is such a good question. I like that the laptop one has a separate space for my laptop, I really enjoyed traveling with the classic one because I can use the bag for traveling around my destination. The laptop one is great for the airport and other transportation though. 💕
Also we got the same name tag so I think I got the old one. I just got it from a thrift shop so I'm trying to find if it's authentic. Checked the buttons and it is!
Oh so nice!! Yes, you can find so many that are gently used at thrift stores and they are really good finds! The padded shoulder pads are the best! Enjoy it! 💕
Idk lotta people say these are expensive bags. At 80 bucks for this bag I thing that pretty midline. I mean it definitely not a cheap China backpack you can find for 20 bucks but in todays world pretty much any bag built with higher standard than the average China bag costs more than 100$ bucks. And anything American made is well over 200$, for example filson makes a journeyman bag about same size as this and it’s over 400$ and made in Bangladesh xD
Yes, I agree with you, Ryan! I think it all depends on what your cost scale looks like and what you personally think is "expensive" vs. "cheap." But I agree. There are some really nice American made backpacks that I've looked at that are close to, if not over, $200. So $80 in comparison to that is relatively cheap. 💕
What drew me to a Fjallraven Kånken is the rectangularity. If I’m traveling personal item only (hello, there Fontier, Spirit and European low cost carriers), I want the bag to use every inch they give us. An egg top, or other tapering bag wastes space.
What are you thoughts on the Fjallraven Classic Kanken? Have you seen them around? Ever used one?

the shoulder straps also already has pads in it and not removable
not sure tho will check it later
the one i got only got 1 side pocket
