I once heard someone play this at a practice for my teacher's piano recital. The beauty of the left hand and the right hand make this an unknown beautiful composition that is on par with Chopin's nocturnes! Thank you for uploading the score!
Perhaps a wiser goal would be to be more like yourself, which I'm betting is pretty darn excellent. Of course, it's hard to know who we really are. I'm 70 years old, and I still have no certainty about my own identity beyond certain qualities and tendencies, likes and dislikes etc. But are those things really me? Maybe my feelings make up who I am. But don't I have something more central than my feelings, and a stack of adjectives besides? These are difficult questions. And I can't answer then. Perhaps you will some day. Your taste in music already say much about you! :-)

Her brother isnt on the same level as Mozart, Haydn, and Beethofen but his music is performed all the time. Fanny is a wonderful composer and one can argue better than many composers whose works form the classical canon.
@@mohammedpasha1715 I dunno about that appraisal. Mendelssohn wrote some fantastic pieces that I find myself going back to just as much as Mozart or Chopin.
@@mohammedpasha1715I will not argue Mendelssohn's not at their same level, but he's also severely underrated. Although still successful, he often suffered unfair attacks from Wagnerites not exempt from antisemitism, and Nazi Germany suppressed his legacy even more. His only real sin was not being innovative enough, but within this conservative romanticism he wrote extraordinarily gorgeous music. He was also a prodigy (Goethe famously met both him and Mozart, and said Mozart was nowhere near his talent at a comparable age). Fanny was a superior pianist (by Felix's own admission), an integral part of her brother's development and a formidable composer in her own right who unfortunately could not fully develop due to societal pressure. Even though he's not even close to obscurity, both deserve way more attention than they receive
Such a beautiful composition! Gently, deep emotional melody, sophsticated harmony...beautiful! Beautiful! Fanny Mendelssohn, my favorite ❤️

Al inicio pensé que era el waltz op. 64 no.2, uso las mismas notas creo
Ich liebe dieses schöne Lied.
Beautiful, I love the bass-notes; her music and Joseoph Bologne's always has such the sweetest and prettiest bass-notes :)
Beautiful music. She always composed beautiful music. Thanks.
The chord right at 0:38 hurts in the right way ❤️
Okay she inspires me so deeply. I share birthdays with her too… and I want to be like her

I am not saying she was a better composer than Felix, but from my sense of harmony, she is definitely much more adventurous than him.
Lindissimo0
Beaut8ful feel for melody same as his brother felix. Would.been a great composer
Like Felix Mendelssohn op.62 no.1 (Barenboim), but very weak op.62 is very very strong.
