My elderly mum just had some bloke replace some door handles today. On closer inspection a lot of the screws he put in have the screw head absolutely stripped/destroyed. It looks like he actually drilled out the screw heads! That's not good is it? Seems like a right bodge job to me. Any replies would be appreciated cos I hate seeing my mum ripped off.
There’s a ton of ways to remove stripped screws. Sometimes you can get them out with a rubber band, other times you need a bit more brute force like in this video. You can also buy reverse thread spiral bits to get them out, but the good ones cost a fair bit. I’d try the rubber band method first, failing that, I’d try this method. Then replace with new screws, and either drive them by hand, or make sure your clutch on your drill is set to a low setting to prevent stripping 👍
@@tipcentricyes it is, we tried every method on an itty bitty stripped Torx screw yours is the one that worked. Was recessed in polished metal couldn't slot the top, which was too shallow to begin with, and we didn't want to damage the surrounding area.
This actually worked when a stripped screw removal tool didn’t even work, thank you!!!!
You’re welcome! I have tried them removal tools a few times. They do work, but not as well as this method can 👍👍
What size drill bit do you use for that t15?
@@kyleharrison4878 yeah that’s right.
Is it the jn reverse strip it? @@tipcentric
@@TotalWarriorLegendsno, just a Torx bit 👍
Don't think my Aldi bits could withstand that hammering 😅
Can aldi bits even survive a drill?? 😂😂
@@tipcentric I never strip my screws - my screws strip my bits

LEGEND. I spent 2 hours trying all different methods. This one worked like a charm
Love comments like this! Glad it helped out! :)
Tried it and it worked for me. Thanks for sharing it!
This is the best method. Even for hard to reach places
Tried it and it definitely worked. Saved me so much time. Thank you!🙏🏽
Thank you this worked!!
3mm drill bit and a t15 worked well for me. Thanks
Very welcome 🥳👍
Now do one for a stripped drill bit haha
😂
Brilliant, thanks.
This worked amazingly thank you!!!
You're welcome!
Worked for me! New skill unlocked. Thanks man.
I have a lawn mower shaft with a stripped grub screw. I'll try this when I get the chance! Gotta get the broken ez-out out first
You're my hero!
It worked!!!! Thank you sir!
Most welcome! :)
My experience, worked just fine after I bought set of GOOD hex bits.
Cheers that actually worked on my cylinder lock screw.
Most welcome, glad it helped :)
Thanks! Did this and it worked!
That’s smart !!!
Speed out tool didn’t work. Was getting ready to cut the screw.. tried this and it worked.. wow!
Excellent DIY hack ....it worked . Thanks !
You're welcome!
Nice, good idea
What size drill bit for the T-15. Also is he going forward or backwards.
That's what I want to know too of the size drill bit.
As a person who tried to install ssd card on my ps5 and got screw stripped i call tell if i do that my ps5 will die.
We must make sacrifices to make his screws life living gell
I've actually saved myself a lot of frustration at work with a sharp 3/16 and 3/32 bit and a throwaway star bit
Worked for me and 6 stripped out Phillips ! Thanks
Very welcome :)
This just saved me 😮💨
Happy to help! 👍😀
tnxxx it worked for me!!!
My dad used this trick to get a stripped screw out from my e scooter, worked perfectly
Awesome! 👍👍
I got a Allen bolt that’s stripped in my ar🤦🏽♂️
Thank you perro
HI, What size drill bit do you use for that t15?
What size drill bit?
It worked!!!
Did you try it? Awesome! 😀👍👍
What size drill bit for torx 15?
You dont need to use the drill bit just use a different size screw bit
What’s the drill b it size?
What is the size of the drill bet
Worked, you saved my scooter
Just the proper tool
Like what?
Muy buena
Before doing that, put a small piece of duct tape on the screw and use a manual screwdriver. It turns it right out.
That does not always work.
@@ELScorcho0110yup I already tried that didn’t work screw was too rounded and is still stuck 😂
If this works ur saving me money my friend
Wish I seen this about half an hour ago. Just been fucked on a screw for past 20 minutes
can't wait to do this on my $2000 laptop
Good luck 😬
Podrías usar un extractor de tornillos
What sizes to use though, surely every situation different
Im thinking about using this method on an expensive set of balisongs with T-10 screws.
Been doing this for years

Для такой операции нужна бита очень хорошего качества. Как резец по металлу.
What size drill bit is that drilling
In screw
2.5mm I think.
How about at glass door?
Don't think I can do this on my controller.
I am not doing this to my Steam Deck lol
Or put a rubber band in it then reverse your drill whilst the end is in the band does the same thing
Did that one in another video. It’s a bit hit and miss, depends how much grab it can get in the screw head and how tight the screw is. 👍👍
Yeah no not always😢
Unfortunately, this didn’t work for me. Still can’t get the screw out.

Are you reverse drilling or in forward mode?
forward drill, reverse screw
What's the rotation of the drill? clockwise or counter clockwise?
You would want to go the opposite of the screws threads so in most cases, you would go counter clockwise.
@@user-wi3qz6fx6yclockwise while drilling. Counter clockwise when removing. Remember the old saying. "Lefty loosy

Would this work for a Bolt?
Don’t see why not!
Даже ногти пострич некогда, весь в делах бедненький
try what? what are any of these things????
Electronics: rip
why no manufacturer comes with T16 T 21 T26 etc , now the tolerance is useless because the screws use maximum tolerance too
But what is the name of the removal tool
It’s a torx bit. T25 I think
What kind of goofy ish is this?? The thumbnail clearly shows T15. You don't know what's on your own video bro?
@@resandor you’re correct it was a 15. My bad.

Does not work at all on a screw stuck in brick. No chance
In the start you used the wrong bit
Yeah you didn’t reverse that footage at all. 😂😂😂😂🎉😢🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Use a rubberband on top of the screw to help get it out.
That can work too 👍
