As a Chinese living in the US, and Guangzhou is my hometown, this Hilton is very old and mainly used for conventions only. I would recommend you stay at the Rosewood Hotel for a night for the city experience. Its totally worth the money.
Try find a hotel with a robot delivery service, it's the most mind blowing thing I experienced in China's hotel. Just order a food delivery and there will be a robot instead of a human who takes lift itself and deliver the food to your door
For USD140, you guys can stay at any luxurious air bnb with 1 bedroom, attached bathroom, living, dining, kitchen around 3 days, also with skytop swimming pool, gym facility, pocket and rooftop garden, library, community room, grocery store etc. Next time in KL, check in at one those fancy place to stay.
For the record, your stay in MOKL, KLCC was also epic. But, there are plenty more 5 star hotels in KL that are far more affordable and cheaper than MOKL, Traders Hotel, Four Seasons Place in KLCC, or other luxurious hotel brands like Ritz Carlton, St Regis. Most of 5 star hotels will include breakfast buffet in the daily rate. There are many other 5 star hotels near the KLCC prime area, one of them is the older ShangriLa Hotel. The room is quite modest. I think the breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet could be one of the best in KL especially around Ramadan buffet or the seafood buffet section with some freshly cooked meal stations. Next time in KL, get the value for your money 5 star hotel staycation guys.
China is probably one of the safest place on earth. Over here you will see friendly people, who want to take pictures with you, superb infrastructure, very conveniences to go around from city to city.Our media in the West always tells us China is collapsing.

Asia is the best place for hotel as it provides the lagrest room, the best design and grearest view, and of course, very modern.

many indoor swimming pools in China (and Italy, and Spain, and France, and some indoor pools in Japan ...) have a mandatory swimming cap requirement. it minimize pool filter clogging up.
You may try ATOUR HOTEL, it's not a luxury hotel, but a new brand then designed for the young generation, but the service is super great, you can ask anything you can think of from them, and they even offer earplugs. And if you order online food by Meituan or others, then most deliveries are done by Robots. Last summer, we tried lots of different hotels in China, it is best for all of our families.
It is not China looks futuristic or as what some other foreigners especially Americans say, China is extraordinary or something like this. They say this because their own country's infrastructure were not being upgraded or new one built for a long period of time . Eg US subway system stinks, have rats running all over and its 1980s public infrastructure were still existent all over thr place. This is due to negligence. That is why when these foreigners come to China where public policy to improve the std of living of their citizens in terms of housing, public facilities , education etc are one of their priorities. Naturally, they feel shocked.

You should try the Trident Hotel in Hyderabad, India! The curtains are remote controlled. The view is modern India. They even give bath bombs for the bath tub! The breakfast is healthy because half of the options are vegan.

I strongly recommend that you visit Shenzhen, the technology hub of China. It only takes half an hour by high-speed train from Guangzhou.

Given the distance of Guangzhou South Station from the city centre, taking the intercity train from Guangzhou East Station might be a better idea.
