hello.. I moved the speed sensor to the pedals to go faster and the syncdrive warning appeared on the display and the engine runs intermittently even though I put the sensor in its place. it still runs intermittently.. what can be done? Thanks!
Put it back to standard as the sensor is designed for the rear wheel, not the pedals. If the magnet is not turning then the computer thinks that something is wrong and shuts down. This happens when you stop pedalling.
The range will drop dramatically since that much speed requires much more energy and it's not linear. I did this on my other bike and the range at full power and full speed would drop down to about 30% (70% reduction!) of what originally claimed. I later on decided to go back to the original. It's still a pedal bike, not a motor bike and it should stay that way.
there is a simple hack ,do not need a chip etc unless of course you finicky about your display showing correct speed and distance ( I use the phones gps for this so no biggie).
My guess is yes it does. I spoke with my giant LBS and he told me they legally cannot work on any other brand ebike, or any regular bike modified with after market motor. He won't even change a tire on any ebike not Giant, and not stock.
Can we expect the same performance as the slightly higher-end motor, the SyncDrive ''Sport'' obviously without your Giant Speed Unlock Chip ? I have to choose between a Roam (''Core'' 50nm) or an Explore (''Sport'' 70nm) . In short, does your modification increase the torque at the ''Sport'' motor level?
Hey mate, I’m Aussie too, and am just about to buy myself an E-bike. I’ve been looking at the Giant Roam E+ or even the Cube Reaction Hybrid. Which of those two is the easiest to unlock, and with the least issues like error codes? Or is there a better option at the $4000 AUD price range? Appreciate any info mate. I’ve put so much research into trying to get the best value mid-mount from a decent brand, but something that’s not slow as F.
Giant roam has the Syncdrive core motor which is very slow when unlocked you will typically only be able to get up to 35km/h, Cube uses the Bosch motor which can be unlocked but can have issues with error codes. Alternatively we have some bikes in stock using the Bafang m510 motor which can be unlocked to 45km/h and still maintain its warranty.
Hi. Which chip is this please and does it do or not do any of the following? 1) Display correct speed in the RideControl App? 2) Display correct distance in the RideControl App? 3) Throw up any error codes (red light) on the RideControl controller? Thanks
Hi guys. Hope Epic time are well. I just got a Giant Talon E+ 1 2022 and I would like to get one of this chips but I wonder if the chip works with this model and year? Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Cheers.
32kph is only 20mph. I've got this exact same bike and the motor only assists up to 20mph. Doesn't mean you can't pedal it faster but the motor won't push you faster than that
Do you have a video on how to do that please. I may have got the wrong crank puller that got sent with the speedbox chip but I couldn't get the crank off
Remember this. Higher voltage = increased speed. Most of those bike will be sold with the legal limit of a 36v battery. This is what will restrict your speed. Replace it with a 48v or 52v pack and your speed will increase by 10-15 mph. That is it.
I rarely give reviews, but I have had this bike for 1 week and it has been Awesome! BUY IT!

If you remove the chip prior to warranty claims you should be ok. If you leave it installed you would not get warranty
