Aw man that's just terrible. I mean your in the entertainment industry, even if it was the 90's there's no reason for that crap. I had no idea. Makes me sad now that I remember how they slowly pushed Billy aside, I always thought it was weird, like they where trying to get rid of the old cast, but no the old cast appears again so they where just pushing him out. I would have sued for discrimination. He said the creators, producers, directors, that is grounds for a discrimination lawsuit. Then again he said he was still coming to terms with his sexuality, so I doubt he'd want the media attention, I could see it now "Blue Power Ranger quits of homophobic discrimination" I'm sure he didn't want that,
Captain Harlock It's happened recently enough. I remeber one of the guys leaving Greys Anatomy because the actor who played Burke was harasing him for being gay.
Captain Harlock - I never had any idea my self. I feel a little upset now, because the original blue ranger was the first character I identified with in the show. I'm not really even sure how to respond.
Michael Langley We're talking 1995 to 1996! Not a lot of people would of been supportive and as he said it the media attention would of interfered with his personal life even more than what was already going on.
fahim asjad no pretty much everybody but them. him and Amy (Kimberly) are best friends and apparently The guys playing Jason and Zack regularly stood up for him
I can say with fair certainty, having seen them at a convention a couple of years ago, that they seem to have been fairly close to each other. No way would he have even turned up with them had they done that.
All of the original cast are best friends with each other (with the exception being Austin St. John and Jason David Frank). I don't agree that JDF holds a grudge with ASJ, but I can understand how he got mad way back when. Times have changed and at the end of the day people want to remember you for what you did for them when we watched the show in the 90s, but I digress. It is really unfortunate that the creators, writers and support crew were constant bullies to David Yost and even for the 20th anniversary when Walter Jones was asked if he would become the black ranger again, he said he would only do it if David would become the blue ranger. These guys got along really well with each other and as The Drunken Owl already mentioned, both David and Amy are best friends present day.
When people talk about bullying, many do not know it is not just physical hitting. It is stuff like this in the work place and I am sure it happens to many people in various other work places. Too many toxic people can create a huge toxic environment for someone.
Think he could have stuck around until trubo at least. Back then you didn't openly admit you were gay. If the arrowverse for example was made during the 90's the gay and lesbian scenes would never have worked. Roy actor would the had similar problems as David Yost
Billy was the heart of the rangers. None of them were as kind or compassionate as he. Billy was the glue even in Zeo when he wasn't a ranger anymore. He held the fort of the command center. It even translates into the new 2017 film. Billy was the first one to morph when the rest of them couldn't. Heart and soul of the team. Bottom line.
how ironic that now one of the rangers is fully out and gay and everyone is happy about that. whoever bullied Mr. Yost needs to come around and make a big apology.
Nickey Fynn lol, Trini never confirmed she was gay. So you need to shut the fuck up son, and stop spreading rumors!!! I will say something very rude if you don't take back that comment.
B Irons -- lol, there was a huge coverage about the fact her character is gay and even David Yost wrote for hollywoodreporter about how much it means to kids like the one he once was. I know that technically she doesn't use the word in the film but at this point it's practically impossible to imagine that they would degay her in future movies.
That's what I was wondering... We think automatically of the cast, but it coulda been anyone really. Production staff, directors, camera crew, paparazzi, wardrobe, caterers, etc. There are whole lotta people that don't work on one show permanently or exclusively. For some reason, I doubt it was anyone actually on the show, though I could be wrong. I hope I'm right... =(
I'm glad things have changed quite a bit over the years and this wouldn't have happened today? You can't be a superhero because you're gay? TF is that???
Mr. Yost if you ever by chance read this I want you to know that you were my favorite power ranger as a kid. I loved you because you were blue which was my favorite color and you had the triceratops which was one of my favorite dinosaurs. I'm not gay myself but I am a christian and I'm sorry to hear that you faced that kind of disrespect. You'll always have a special place in my heart sir. Thank you for all your contributions to the show and thank you for teaching me moral lessons through the show. I'm serious dude you were my hero. Just got done rewatching the episode where you and Kimberly/Amy Jo Johnson switched bodies XD
+Just Chillin Thank you kind sir for pointing that out: you remind us that there are still people like you out there who lack basic human decency and respect for others who did absolutely nothing to warrant your hate and disgust. Keep going with that, I'm sure that'll earn you favours in the future.
Just Chillin It said in my comment I'm not gay myself. I'm not a gay christian nor have I ever been gay but I love people. Not sure why you hate them. Must be fun harassing people on the the internet because your computer screen can't fight back. You're a coward and a fool. What insecurities are you hiding? That's a rhetorical question I don't actually care. I just want you to sit and think of how many different levels of pathetic you are. I may be a christian but I'm not perfect and I'm not a pacifist. If you were face to face with me I'd break your jaw.
Can't blame him for leaving the show. The producers were such dicks! I would've done the same thing myself. David Yost didn't deserve such bad treatment!
@jackadams3878 Even if we don't say we're gay, people will go off of our vibes. Our voice, our gait, and our mannerisms are all under incredible scrutiny. It doesn't help that if we're working in an environment that's macho or hypermasculine, then those little things become even more stark. I think that's what happened with David Yost speaking from personal experience.
There were some hardcore bullies back then when it came to homosexuality. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I bullied someone just for being gay. Even back in the 90s
I remember Austin said He decided to give Hasbro a Try. Since they were calling it now. Only reason he came back too. Show was in new hands, He had good things to say about Hasbro & i remember too. I believe why David was willing to come back & Zack for the first time in years. The 30th anniversary & Cosmic fury was done by Hasbro studios.
I’m straight as a arrow but billy is my favorite power ranger. I could care less if he’s gay he is and will always be the best power ranger. Nothing but respect for him.
It really makes me mad the producers told him "you can't be a super hero because you're gay" that's the most ignorant thing I've ever heard anyone say.
I met David Yost in London last year. He must have been the friendliest person I went to see at the convention, it was a real pleasure to talk to him. It sucks that he was treated this way and I think the least he deserves off the people who perpetrated this is an apology.
He'll always be my favorite blue ranger no matter what happens or what people say about him, but that just plain rude calling him "faggot" just... ugh thing people used to do and still do
I really hate hearing things like this. David Yost seems like a nice guy. He was still young and dealing with something big in his life. To be made fun of or disrespected at a place where you work and people are supposed to be professional is completely immature and cruel. I could only imagine how bad he felt. I hope everyone who was doing that feels horrible looking back on the pain they caused him. Much respect to David Yost for sharing his story
This was in the 90's. Back then if you openly admit you were gay you were getting picked on. My brother beat up a boy in 2001 for being gay. He did that today he'd probably get an ass kicking.
After reading Wiki, I feel bad for the guy. People are less tolerant for LGBT back then compare to now, and it damaged Yost career. It's unfortunately that he left Power Ranger on such a term like that. I hope he would cameo in new Power Ranger movie.
He was made fun of by producers and writers who SHOULD KNOW BETTER! This isn't the 1960s and David was just as worthy of his role as anyone else. He made a very brave decision and it's just sad that he had to make it for those reasons.
Yeah, I'd give David Yost a hug if I ever saw him in real life. He was my least favorite Power Ranger, but I was sad he left. Now that I know why, it really breaks my heart.
Aww :( that’s sad why would he ever be called faggot David doesn’t deserve to treated that way I would’ve let David take my hand as a friendship this message is very sad
That's sounds like complete and utter hell. You helped create one of the fondest memories from my childhood. You should have been celebrated for who you are, not ridiculed. Fuck those idiots, it's you that holds a place in my heart, not them.
Oh, David. I am so sorry. Sorry that you found yourself in a situation that made you feel unwelcome -- to put it in the simplest terms. You are amazing, and you have had an impact on many a person's heart. And that, David, is more powerful than any of Rita's monsters. To you, and to Jason, to Amy and to Walter, to Austin and of course, dear Thuy, and many more: we love you. We admire you and aspire to be like you. You rocked our imaginations and gave many of us hope in our lower childhood moments. I know you did for me. You'll always be our rangers and our heroes.
It wasn't right at all and he deserves an apology from the show for how they treated him cause being gay wouldn't have affected his acting ability so there was no need for the witch hunt
Wow....the cast and crew of a show which was mainly about friendship and working together against evil, treated one of its own heroes like a monster.....Billy was my blue ranger growing up and no matter what happened or what happens in the future, he is and will forever be the Original Blue Ranger!
@@SonicWilliamX He must be talking to someone else. That person must have deleted the reply to Pak Wong because it might be terrible. And this guy is calling him out for that. You can tell by the different name he/she included. TakeanL.
Billy was my favorite ranger as a kid. I didn't knew about this controversy until I saw the Power Rangers marathon stream on Twitch a few weeks ago. This broke my heart. Just made me even more proud to have picked Billy (David Yost) as my all time favorite ranger as a kid and still now. Once a ranger, always a ranger, David.
Thank you for sharing your story David, I couldn't even begin to imagine how bad you felt about yourself, whoever treated you that way, owes you a big apology.
that's fucked up dude. mad respect Billy! I'm proud that you stood up for yourself. I'm a really nerdy kid, and you helped me through a ton of shit. I want you to know tons of people support who you are and love you for your contribution to power rangers. stay awesome dude!
You will always be our Blue Ranger and our hero I’m 28 years old and we thank you for your work and your talent you have to us growing up in the 90s thank you for everything Blue Ranger Billy will always be our original ranger
Hearing that those staff members, not co stars, called him f***ot and made him feel unwelcome. I feel terrible he went through that, no one should feel like they don't belong because of their sexual orientation. David, I hope you deserve the best and never go through something like this again.
I wish David Yost could see this comment. I'm a pastor, and feel a certain way about these things, but there is NO excuse why anyone is treated like he was. Those people are morons. You can be gay and be whoever you wanna be! God loves everyone, and doesn't just pick and choose. Those producer and writer idiots are loved as well, but seriously?????? David, you're the reason I love the color blue. That sounds corny but I looked up tot he blue ranger growing up, and I would've been heartbroken to know this, not because you weren't on the show anymore, but because such a nice person was treated this way. I'm glad life's going well now. :) You are MORPH-A-NOMINAL!!! (I had to say it)
It's nice to see someone who is a pastor that is ok with David being gay most pastors would say that being gay is a sin bit it's not God will not punish anyone for being who they are regardless if there straight or gay love is love no matter what ❤
This makes me so sad! Why does sexuality have to be such a big deal! okay, so he's gay? who cares! Why use that as a reason to bully and attack someone! there is NOTHING wrong with being gay, and to hear that a production team for a show such as The Power Rangers, highly influential to kids and is supposed to teach them good morals, would be so prejudice and disrespectful! It makes me mad! He did the right thing leaving when he did. Love you Billy/David :D
"Live and let live" as I say....unfortunately there do seem to be a lot of people who can't tolerate anything that doesn't align with their tastes/sensibilities/worldview.
It's different, it's new... and how do people meet such things? Now, I know it ain't the 90's, but given how it was slowly being pushed into the media, not the best of times. Well, here we are, got a gay ranger, haven't heard much beef from it, but it's good to see Mr. Yost happy as of late.
"But remember, if we allow him to be gay, then other people will think it's ok to be gay and BECOME gay, then our kids will be gay, and soon everyone on the entire planet will be gay, then men and women will stop having sex and the entire human race will come to an end! All because we allowed this one man to be gay! That's why homophobia is vitally important! We have to bully and discriminate them until they give up being gay and go back to being straight! The future of our world depends on it!" Or some crap like that, I don't know! For the record, that was all based on things I've actually heard people say!
At least David seemed to be respected by the other Rangers; I definitely know that Amy and Thuy were fine with his orientation, and he also seems cool with Austin and Walter. Jason did seem to mock him for it for some time, but there are several videos on TH-cam where you can see him and David give each other spontaneous hugs, and they get along great with each other during interviews, and David also called Jason a "great friend" when Jason had died, so I believe they ended up fine with each other.
Started watching MMPR when it first released in 1993 and the Blue Ranger was pretty much instantly my favorite one. Still is to this day. Thank you David Yost 💙
This is must have been horrible to experience for him; whoever was responsible for the verbal abuse needs to make an apology despite the fact that it was 20+ years ago now. I have had the pleasure of meeting David Yost in real life and he is one of the nicest, most humble people I have ever met and I simply cannot fathom why someone would be so cruel to someone David.
@@ExtremeWreck One of the producers, Scott Page (who didn't come aboard until Zeo), lied in an interview by claiming Yost was difficult to work with and he didn't get along with the rest of the cast.
I met David Yost 3 years ago at a Comicon! He was super friendly and down to earth. I suprised him with a Personal Letter for him to read explaining how much his show meant to me as a kid. Even told him straight up of how I was bullied and was about to take my own life until a Maitence Man showed up and talked me out of it. He told he was glad to hear that guy saved my life and was honored to be standing talking to me!
I could tell there was something different about him even when I was younger, like he was reserved for some unknown reason. But this really sucks, dude. Very sad that one of my fondest childhood memories is now stained with yet another kind of bigotry. =(
Sorry David! We love you lots and you were always my second favourite Power Ranger. Which still meant the world to me back when I was 5. This is a heart breaker, really sorry you had to put up with the hate.
I'm disabled and I used to work with a guy who jokingly called me cripple. Now he was my friend so I knew he wasn't being serious when he said it. In Yost's case, it sounds like there wasn't anything jokey about his situation and I'm truly sorry this happened to him. Also, what in the holy hell was with the producers asking his cast mates about his sexuality? That just seems a little wrong.
A lot of people see it as a sin, that's probably why they made fun of him, but here is what I want to know.....How did David know about the show and who cast him as Billy Cranston if they knew he was Gay?
I give him props for having the courage to step away from something as big as power rangers. I left football because most of my teammates were uneducated jerks and that was hard enough for me. I can’t possibly imagine how difficult this must’ve been for David.
Man, that’s hard. What’s hard too, is being the bystander right there and you didn’t do anything. I grew up with a girl who was a tomboy at a young age. Her name is Tiffany, but some kids called her Tuffany, never understood that until later. In grade school, kids in my class poked at her tomboy dress style and short hair. I had always thought she was cute when she smiles with her right side dimple. One day, behind the girls bathroom, a bunch of girls beat her up, a whole crowd drew around and teachers came to stop the fight, the only thing I saw was her bloody nose dripping everywhere. Next few days, the whole school had an assembly in the cafeteria. Principal announced about the bullying issue and that one of our classmates is not coming back. That was the last time I saw her. I wished I could’ve done something or be her close friend that time. She looks like Eliza dushku but without make up and short brown hair. A lot of my friends didn’t like her playing with us because we might get cooties, boys. Lol. But that’s one regret I am living with forever, if your out there Tiffany, just want to say I’m sorry I didn’t help you and I hope you’re doing well. I do hope we will bump into each other and catch up on life. That goes for you too David! Stay strong and let your inner blue ranger guardian guide you where ever you go!
Bro, it ain’t your fault man, you couldn’t do anything, you were just a kid. Don’t beat yourself up, I’m happy that you’re better than those bullies, keep living long and happy. Have a great a day
This is why we NEED to teach young kids about how being gay or bi or whatever is NORMAL! Nobody is out there trying to turn your kids gay by teaching them that such people exist and are normal people. If David had better support growing up and if those execs didn't have brains the sizes of walnuts and learned to accept David for who he was this never would've happened.
Billy was my favorite Power Ranger as a kid. I am so disgusted to know how horribly he was treated. But he made the right decision to do what was best for him. Bullying and hatred doesn’t belong in any workplace. I’m glad he respected himself to find a better environment than that horrible set.
Dear Mr Yost, You were always one of my heroes. The fact that you continued to be a part of an amazing show and put up with so much crap from people who didn’t recognize your awesomeness and kindness. Just makes me appreciate you even more. I’ll never forget you and I was very sad when you left the show. I hope you return to future seasons
Billy was one of my favorites as a kid so sad to hear this news .... Goes to show how rotten people can be bruh 😢, let's go back to showing respect and pushing eachother to the next level 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Still handsome as ever...I had a major crush with him, he made me realize I was gay, when I found out he's also gay I was so happy we also had that in common :)
he said that they told him he couldn't be a super hero for being gay is that way the character Billy really wasn't the gold ranger in zeo well if it is they are wrong very wrong being gay doesn't make you any less human now when I see the scene where Billy isn't zeo gold I get seriously mad mmpr blue will always be one of my favorite rangers now
I Wish I Could Go Back In Time & Hug Him... Telling David That Things WILL Eventually Get Better, Because The Idiots Who Cuntrol Us Will Move-On To Persecute Another Minority!
The fact that David can still feel this after this much time has passed should tell you everything you need to know about the effects of bullying, especially towards gay people. FUCK bullies. You rule, David. Billy forever.
Growing up he was my favorite ranger and even after finding out he was gay he still is. It really sucks the way so many treated him. I'm glad he got out of that disguting environment.
Apparently none of the show's creators never heard of Apollo and Midnight followed by various superheroes in comics who belong to the lbgt community it sucks because you would have been a great Gold Ranger (nothing against ASJ) but that's lack of professionalism on their behalf
The way the higher ups at Saban treated the actors on the show was absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. From paying them minimum wage and not giving them a raise despite the success of the show (losing Austin St. John, Thuy Trang and Walter Jones, and I think Steve Cardenas too was not happy with the low pay), to the unsafety set pieces and stalkers (losing Amy Jo Johnson) to little pay but an extremely demanding schedule (losing Karan Ashley) to writing characters out without the actor(s)'s consent (losing Johnny Yong Bosch. I hear conflicting thing about whether Nakia Burrise knew Tanya was being written out or not). But IMO David Yost got it the worst, being called names just for his sexuality and being harassed about it and calling in the cast to ask about him behind his back. Considering how this was affecting your way of thinking about whether life is worth it, I think you did right to leave when you did David. I REALLY hope Hasbro greenlit you Quantum Continuum MMPR Reunion because I have fate you'd do a great job not just in the acting but in the writing . I look forward to it. May the power protect you David.😀😄
Just to hear it from you David yost just breaks my heart to know why the people you worked with called you that, that’s just sick to every power rangers fan of the world to hear you say this is the reason why you left the show
Since blue was my favorite color as a kid, Billy was one of my favorite rangers. After hearing the circumstances that lead to his departure, yeah that sucked. I still like Mighty Morphin Power Rangers but have also lost tremendous respect for Saban.
I'm gonna say it right now, David (which by the way I met, it was a blast meeting him!) coming out inspired me to come out in high school that I'm just Autistic because a lot of people had no idea I was autistic!
Most underrated of the original 6. If he's ever in Seattle he heard about how my dog inspires me even in death and how I lost a close friend to suicide at 53 and I was 27 and I still contribute where I volunteer and I'm trying to prove to people I'm with disabilities aren't idiots.
And today we still have people that want to go back to the way things were before PC became more serious. It just astounds me the way people treat each other with their different views and beliefs.
I heard about David leaving because the producers didn't like that he was gay, i didn't know he was struggling with thoughts of suicide :( Glad he made it out when he did ❤
I’ve always said that David shouldn’t have stayed around for as long as he did, whilst Losing Billy was heartbreaking, Yost did not deserve what he went through day in day out for what couldve been 4 years of his life, I wish he hadn’t stayed as long because of that
albeit I don't stand for that lifestyle, I will defend ANYONE against discrimination regardless of race, religion or preference. In my opinion, he's the only blue ranger.
It's not a lifestyle... What exactly do you need to stand against in the first place? If you're not gay then so what, but stop invalidating some people's very existence simply because you don't understand or can't relate to it.
i understand! WE ALL get it. I feel bad for you. Everyone does. Just NEVER GIVE UP. You're the BLUE RANGER. FAKE OR REAL, always stay strong! You guys teach us lessons each power ranger seasons, you should learn it too... STAY STRONG!
Thats sad I never thought that he went through that I swear when I saw this that brought tears to my eyes. I'm gay and I know how he felt when they did him like that its a horrible feeling especially at a place where you are trying to work at to make money but that is some of worst places to get harrassed but Billy was one of my favorite power rangers because he was blue and blue was my favorite color and I love his personality. I love Zach, Kimberly, and Tommy. I remember I used to have a crush on Kimberly she was so cute to me. Billy was cute but Zach he was very handsome its funny how Zach still look the same after all those years it make sense that black don't crack.
This is very sad. I don't know how anyone could be like this to their fellow man. They lack a moral compass, its broken. I hope he is in a good place now.
WHAT? I just started getting curious about Billy like 20-30 years later.. lol and find this.. so sad.. You were my fave ranger btw! and cause Blue my favorite color too lol
This actually makes me really sad because the blue ranger was my favorite and he did an amazing job as Billy. I know that during that time, people were very closed minded about gays, but it shouldn't have mattered because he was so great at playing the character the way he was written.
I think it’s rather sad for David to leave the show at the time he did. I mean when you noticed some of the Zeo episodes, they were KIND of pushing David away. Like for example the Graduation Blues episode where he leaves for Aquitar seemed to should of been the proper episode for David departure but he wanted to still be a part of the show. Then when they did the Gold Ranger saga, I think it was originally planned for David to be the Gold Ranger, but I think as he mentioned here those producers didn’t want him to be Ranger again because they thought gay people don’t deserve to be heroes. So if you watch the Zeo episode where Austin St. John was brought back, Yost didn’t seem too happy. Basically I think that was when David was being harassed by those producers. I believe the King For A Day episodes were David’s last official episodes he did because as he mentioned here, he walked off set during a lunch so when you see those episodes Rangers Of Two Worlds, the aging Billy was just a way to write the character off. David had no part of that idea. Then they gave him a proper tribute to him in those credits making it assuming that he was properly sent off kind of like Amy Jo was, but that just seemed so cruel David was horribly abused the way he was. Nobody should ever discriminate anyone that way just because they are gay. Gay people can be superheroes too. That’s why it took 30 years for him to finally return to the franchise. Along with Walter Jones because he decided to stand behind David Yost when he did.
You are amazing!!! And you have always been my favorite actor on the series as well as my favorite power ranger!!! I am so sorry that you were bullied and belittled like that. You are strong David!!! Please always stay that way and know that there are people out there that love you and think you are amazing!!!
Something about David’s personal vivacity rang true and resonated with me as a child. He was my favourite ranger by far and his work helped me cope with my own situation. I think David Yost’s own sexuality shone through in his work and helped me realise that although I was different in my own hometown in Ireland, I was still worthy of something more spectacular. I did my best to ignore the criticism, and worked hard to be the best version of myself that I could be. I studied diligently despite my sexuality- a trait I suppressed just as David had done. When I graduated from my PhD in Science (a subject I gravitated toward specifically due to Billy’s affiliations), I met the love of my life and we were married within 4 years. We now have a beautiful daughter through surrogacy and couldn’t be happier. I attribute David’s courage to my courage about my sexuality and I will never forget it. I can only hope that other men in my situation will follow suit. Thank you David. Your bravery has done more for others than you will ever realise.
who would say that. i understand there's still discrimination but dont make a actor feel bad because that can just ruin all the work they did. i would discriminate like that. a person is a person no matter what. ps. you were a great im a big fan
David as a fellow gay man I really feel for your pain and misery on the set. I struggled with my own sexuality throughout childhood and into high school. I never really developed meaningful attachments to other people platonic or otherwise until I was a young adult. Life was so hard I had several close calls. I am so happy that I lived to see the world's view change so drastically since the early 90s mid 2000s.
Aw man that's just terrible. I mean your in the entertainment industry, even if it was the 90's there's no reason for that crap. I had no idea.

David Yost was the longest serving original Power Ranger. He could have been on the show longer if he wasn't bullied and harassed.
When Billy's aging was reversed he appeared on a screen and was voiced by somebody else.
Tommy came in later on.
When people talk about bullying, many do not know it is not just physical hitting. It is stuff like this in the work place and I am sure it happens to many people in various other work places. Too many toxic people can create a huge toxic environment for someone.

how ironic that now one of the rangers is fully out and gay and everyone is happy about that. whoever bullied Mr. Yost needs to come around and make a big apology.
Nickey Fynn lol, Trini never confirmed she was gay. So you need to shut the fuck up son, and stop spreading rumors!!! I will say something very rude if you don't take back that comment.
nobody ever mentioned Trini, I was talking about the blue ranger. idiot.
B Irons who the fuck are you numb nuts?? a nobody #stfu
yeah, kids a noob.
That's terrible that they treated him that way. Billy was one of my favorite characters on the show alongside Zach.
the truth GAY ISN'T BAD GAY MARRIAGE IS LEGAL GET OVER IT
😊
I'm happy for you now because of the 30th anniversary being centered in your favorite characters
I hope you enjoy it 🎉
I'm glad things have changed quite a bit over the years and this wouldn't have happened today?
MrFrenchgangsta Lol. hate? dude said he was a homosexual Christian lol. U hate the truth. keep living ur lie.
4EverGamer X lol u mad little fat dude?
Bagel Lovesfood lol truth hurts don't it sissy?
David Yost didn't deserve such bad treatment!
im curious how it came up. i mean, ive never given 2 shits if any of my coworkers were gay. meaning i didn't have any interest in hearing about it.
Honestly they should have fired the producers after that incident
So what if he's gay the man is still human and has feelings fair play for him coming out ppl hide it but fair play ur the true blue ranger
My cousin’s at risk because he’s a trans
I’m straight as a arrow but billy is my favorite power ranger. I could care less if he’s gay he is and will always be the best power ranger. Nothing but respect for him.
Wow didn't know he was gay.
Yeah, Billy's a great character. Bit of an awkward nerd that slowly forges himself into his finest but also keeps that charm that made Billy lovable.
😉
He is a nice guy.
This was in the 90's. Back then if you openly admit you were gay you were getting picked on. My brother beat up a boy in 2001 for being gay. He did that today he'd probably get an ass kicking.
@@KentPetersonmoney The times back then were different. Now there has been big changes for the good. (And you know who had to f**k it up.)
I met him in Seattle at comic con. He’s a really nice guy
After reading Wiki, I feel bad for the guy. People are less tolerant for LGBT back then compare to now, and it damaged Yost career. It's unfortunately that he left Power Ranger on such a term like that. I hope he would cameo in new Power Ranger movie.
The 90s was when LGBT acceptance was coming around.

He was made fun of by producers and writers who SHOULD KNOW BETTER! This isn't the 1960s and David was just as worthy of his role as anyone else. He made a very brave decision and it's just sad that he had to make it for those reasons.
Unfortunately bigotry and cruelty have no expiration date.

I feel bad for him. He went through a lot. I wish him well.

Sad to hear that was the case behind the scenes, but your fans will stick by you David! You were awesome back then and nothing has changed.
You are MORPH-A-NOMINAL!!! (I had to say it)
Pecto's Pages its time for molecular transmutation!!
It's nice to see someone who is a pastor that is ok with David being gay most pastors would say that being gay is a sin bit it's not God will not punish anyone for being who they are regardless if there straight or gay love is love no matter what ❤
So who cares if he was gay...Billy was my favourite character on might morphin power rangers
Yup
The future of our world depends on it!"
Or some crap like that, I don't know! For the record, that was all based on things I've actually heard people say!
@@rararasputin8608 Love isnt new... rofl... humans are just retarded and shallow.
At least David seemed to be respected by the other Rangers;
I definitely know that Amy and Thuy were fine with his orientation, and he also seems cool with Austin and Walter.

I have had the pleasure of meeting David Yost in real life and he is one of the nicest, most humble people I have ever met and I simply cannot fathom why someone would be so cruel to someone David.
hardly whoever was doing that to him still till today never learn but im guessing effect that person career
Heard that the producers & writing staff are apparently REALLY unapologetic, but I'm not sure of that. I hope that isn't true though.
I know it was the 90s when all this happened but doesn’t make any less acceptable.
I could tell there was something different about him even when I was younger, like he was reserved for some unknown reason. But this really sucks, dude. Very sad that one of my fondest childhood memories is now stained with yet another kind of bigotry. =(
I didn't even know he was gay and never got that vibe from the TV show as a kid. It makes me sad that this was even a problem for him making the show.
Chris Anderson ikr he didnt even act gay in the show??
he wasn't supposed to. it wasnt the role. I bet you guys aren't aware that Malcolm Merlin, from arrow is gay in real life.

I’m so sorry for what you had to go through Dave. You’ll always be fan favorite to all of us fans.
Have a great a day
I'm glad he's doing okay now, sucks being treated like that in your daily enviroment, I can't imagine how terrible that was for him
I'm glad his co-stars didn't give him that treatment. not once he mentioned about his co-stars. it shows no love lost between them 👍
U were the greatest blue ranger😢😢😢😭😭
Billy will always be my favorite ranger. No matter what. Thank you for the great memories and now that I know why you left, I respect you even more.
Dear Mr Yost,
You were always one of my heroes. The fact that you continued to be a part of an amazing show and put up with so much crap from people who didn’t recognize your awesomeness and kindness. no one should treat a person like that everyone should be treated the smae
That's so sad, such a terrible thing to experience.
Growing up he was my favorite ranger and even after finding out he was gay he still is. It really sucks the way so many treated him. I'm glad he got out of that disguting environment.
Wish that David Yost reprise his role as Billy Cranston/ MM Blue Ranger in Power Rangers series for 30th anniversary of Mighty Morphing Power Rangers.
This man is an inspiration to me! I came out as Bi 3 months into the pandemic!
Apparently none of the show's creators never heard of Apollo and Midnight followed by various superheroes in comics who belong to the lbgt community it sucks because you would have been a great Gold Ranger (nothing against ASJ) but that's lack of professionalism on their behalf
Midnight only got with Apollo because Apollo was raped on the hood of the car (which almost completely disturbed me). He felt empathy
Couldn't give a fuck if he was gay. He was my favorite Power Ranger and always will be my favorite Power Ranger, gay or not gay.

He hasn't even aged
I'm gonna say it right now, David (which by the way I met, it was a blast meeting him!) coming out inspired me to come out in high school that I'm just Autistic because a lot of people had no idea I was autistic!
Darius Jefferson its people like you why so many innocent people suffer from bullying
Most underrated of the original 6. If he's ever in Seattle he heard about how my dog inspires me even in death and how I lost a close friend to suicide at 53 and I was 27 and I still contribute where I volunteer and I'm trying to prove to people I'm with disabilities aren't idiots.
I loved him and I still do he’s a great person he didn’t deserve that at all I’m proud of him
And today we still have people that want to go back to the way things were before PC became more serious. It just astounds me the way people treat each other with their different views and beliefs.
billy was one of the best rangers on the show but i am rather surprised he didnt sue for discrimination.
Back then? Good luck
@@balshb4064 Well either way he got some vengence back on Saban hard when they sent him that crappy invite for the megaforce "team up"
I heard about David leaving because the producers didn't like that he was gay, i didn't know he was struggling with thoughts of suicide :(
Glad he made it out when he did ❤
david yost should watch that episode.
I know that during that time, people were very closed minded about gays, but it shouldn't have mattered because he was so great at playing the character the way he was written.
that's really awful and sad how they treated him at the studio.
I hate to say this, but there is speculation that some of the bullying Yost experienced came from ASJ himself.
Man that's terrible what they were saying to him but hope he's in a good place now still the best blue ranger ever though !
You are amazing!!! And you have always been my favorite actor on the series as well as my favorite power ranger!!! I am so sorry that you were bullied and belittled like that. You are strong David!!! Please always stay that way and know that there are people out there that love you and think you are amazing!!!
Dude that shit would not fly today, and rightly so.
We love 💙 BILLY
You're my favorite Blue Power Ranger
Linkara explain it in his zeo review
Anthony Barratt: Hey, thank you for the tip you gave us. I just watched both parts. Good suggestion.
Your bravery has done more for others than you will ever realise.
even if he wouldn't became gold ranger they could it make a new ranger like in season 2 when they create the white ranger
I will always respect you, billy. Forever!
still my fav ranger
No matter what mr. yost we accept and love you for who you are. thank you for all the fun memories.
who would say that. i understand there's still discrimination but dont make a actor feel bad because that can just ruin all the work they did.
i would discriminate like that. a person is a person no matter what.
ps. you were a great im a big fan
