The Royal Route begins in Wilanów. There he finds the only undamaged palace in Warsaw. This is the summer residence of King Jan III Sobieski. Halfway up is the most beautiful park in Warsaw. Royal Łazienki Park.

Rail network between those cities, is the best in the whole country. There is a direct train, sort of High Speed Rail ;) with a speed of 160 kph and some small parts are even 200 kph. Polish National Rails, are promising they, will finish in the spring 2020 , theirs neverending story of tracks upgrade for 200 kph. Right now on almost 50% (yey ;) ) of route between Warsaw and Gdańsk. (2H:30M). Warsaw to Cracow on HSR is 2H:15M.
Have fun from another fan of Trains :)

It is also worth mentioning that almost nobody says that Warsaw was rebuilt, but not in the style of before the war, but in the communist style. Once the tenement houses were richly decorated, and the communists rebuilt the tenement houses by destroying the facades of the tenement houses, hence the ugly block tenement houses.

It is because Krakow is basically a historical city. Many things history related to see there. Warsaw is more of a mix of both worlds (modern/historical) and it's usually mainly associated with WW2 and German occupation, while Krakow looks medieval and is very symbolic. I think that's why it seems to be more tourists there. Also, it's a smaller city, so it may be really dense at times.
And where's the Tatra beer, i'm disappointed...
