The Dutch Texan do it I bit the bullet on a 71 nova and it puts a smile on my face every drive even going to work 👍 mines 350lifted camshaft straight pipe and it breaks people's necks all the time true sound of muscle
My first two cars were Nova's and my second one I turned into a SS clone, I never lied about it either. I was always more proud I could fool those in the know by getting nearly everything right. Same when I sold it, it's an SS you don't have to feel guilty about driving. Granted this was back around 1990 even real SS Nova's weren't pulling serious money yet. Hell back then you could still get legit SS's big block under $20k in like new condition. Still remember seeing a real LS5 Chevelle selling for $18,999 at a muscle car lot. The blue one looks to be a 72' so no chance it had a big block originally, it wouldn't come with a 350 as the top engine. Now the other one looks like a 70' that could of had a big block but he clearly hasn't gone the clone route with that one. Although with a V8 70' Nova it's impossible verify without the paper work if someone doesn't miss anything.
Good to hear. I am 63 and daily drive a 54 Ford truck stepside, and a 71 340 Duster. My neighbors think I am too old school. Lol.....guess who don't care.
Dig both cars, but being older now.......I'm really liking just how quiet the blue Nova is. Much more useable car, while still offering alot of fun.......
they Both sound freaking awesome !!! I have a 72 SS with a SBC 350 with 2 1/2" exhaust with cheap turbo muffler's and people think I have a big block in it
The LS5 in the 70 Chevelle has factory exhaust manifolds and 2" exhaust with a set of old cherry bomb mufflers and people ask me all the time what type of exhaust it has because it sounds so good, bigger is not always better. Nice pair of deuces 💪
very cool,i had 2(one w/built 327 and on with that straight 6 you mentioned w/3 on the tree) when i was a kid, bought it for $250 in 1988, sure wish i had now. Going to be searching for a 68-72 again soon. thanks for sharing, love the sound!
Those are great cars. I've owned a 71 w 350/ m22 back in the early 80s and then a sleeper 74 4dr with a transplanted 400 4 bm out of a 72 Caprice. Oh what fun after a fresh rebuild and a good LT1 phase 2 cam. Guys would laugh at the brown 4dr. Spanked Camaro and vettes lol ah the good old days
Very clean set up on the black nova. Fuel lines look great leading to the cell and that battery box is NICE! love it!. Very clean underneath too. Keep up the vids love seeing them. Not many people can afford two nova's that nice haha
Thanks for the demonstration...I am trying to decide what to go with myself so I'm asking lots of questions before I spend the money....I have a 68 camaro..383 stroker 600 horses...
NICE rides,I have a 70 original paint( butternut yellow) 6 cyl.car that has been through the normal changes since I bought it in 88. I bought it in Joshua Tree then moved to Seattle then back home to Michigan so feel very fortunate that I have such a clean solid car from California. I have been through the 383/TH 400/700R4 and am now into a 402/4 speed just because I can I guess. No real point other than to say that I enjoy your vid's and your cars. Take care and keep running.
Really nice cars man, my dad used to have a 1973 nova 383 stroker white with black stripes. I loved that car to bad he sold it. But sweet rides you got there gotta say.
I'm so jealous right now .. I have 69 and trying to get it on the road but I have 2 of those after market muffler I'm using one on a colorado right now it's loud so I'm putting it on my nova but I love both sound your cars but that black one yes all the way
That blue one is sweet! Sounds Good ! Black one is mean and nasty ! Lol Big difference in exhaust note , Might sound close there but you can hear the difference just deeper sounds like a flow master , Now when you un-corked it my dog ran out of the room! LOL
Hello ss396rat ..... I know video is a couple years old but I wanted to as your opinion on what size exhaust would you run on a 383 SBC producing 500HP ..... Would 2.5 inch flow good enough or do you think I should run 3 inch diameter exhaust ? Love both your cars man and always check out your videos as a subscriber .... Lots of good information for us Nova guys ..... Cheers from Canada, Ontario
OK thanks man .... going to have to talk to exhaust manufacturer on that I guess cause installing a kit myself when it comes time .... Just so many different opinions on that subject its hard to pin down which size will actually give the best performance ?
Yes your right ... it seems at the 500HP mark you can go either way .... Kinda thinking 3 inch is better for drag racing and 2.5 inch better for more street use when running mostly lower RPM .... to see difference on a dyno would be cool
if you everyday drive it then use a fan clutch its gonna cool it better than anything I know but if its just a weekend fighter then your good but she sounds wicked. nice ride
What's cracking man, where city are you from? I noticed on your videos your from So Cal, I've been to Fontana speedway a few times and been to west tech dyno a few times too. I live in riverside and have a nova and a 55' chevy truck I'm building
I got to get something old... the spirit of these old cars... the soul... it's speaking to me.
Nice cars! Keep them on the road!
Amen, and God bless America.
приветствие от России. (greetings from piss poor ugly russia. )))))

Two Nova's? That's a dream come true. And everyone has Camaros or Mustangs these days, you are truly an awesome original person. I salute you...
much respect to the owner of these bad ass cars for admiting the one is a clone not everyone would admit that
My first two cars were Nova's and my second one I turned into a SS clone, I never lied about it either. I was always more proud I could fool those in the know by getting nearly everything right. Clone of What?
If your neighbors get tired of you you can always move next to me.hell i'd make them my ringtone
Why don't you shut up.
Yup .... you can definitely hear the difference in size of cam between the Black n Blue .... Both sound sweet !!!
I drive nothing but old school now. I sold my 2005 z51 and my 2010 Roush. Now I drive a 1970 GMC.
A Walker that’s the way to go ! I drive 80 regal ls swapped as my daily
I agree i drive a 1967 impala and a 1969 chevy c-10
Good to hear. I am 63 and daily drive a 54 Ford truck stepside, and a 71 340 Duster. My neighbors think I am too old school. Lol.....guess who don't care.
You're living my dream man. I would love to own multiple novas. I do own a 74 nova tho so I can't complain
Dig both cars, but being older now.......I'm really liking just how quiet the blue Nova is. Much more useable car, while still offering alot of fun.......
music to my ears, I can really hear the roller rockers in the black nova
they Both sound freaking awesome !!! I have a 72 SS with a SBC 350 with 2 1/2" exhaust with cheap turbo muffler's and people think I have a big block in it
2 Novas god bless you . I had a 1969 ss 396 4 speed loved it miss it.
I do get a serious kick out of the 396 being your "cruiser"
The LS5 in the 70 Chevelle has factory exhaust manifolds and 2" exhaust with a set of old cherry bomb mufflers and people ask me all the time what type of exhaust it has because it sounds so good, bigger is not always better. Nice pair of deuces 💪
Bigger diameter will help your flow though. Heck, on turbo miatas 2.5” to 3” gains >10whp as well as letting the turbo spool faster

You have very good taste in your exhaust tips...... referring to the end of your exhaust not sticking out with the big Chrome goddi extensions
Really nice cars man, my dad used to have a 1973 nova 383 stroker white with black stripes. I loved that car to bad he sold it. But sweet rides you got there gotta say.

69 NovaGuy my car is 500hp, i would ask the muffler shop what they think. 2.5 or 3 should work fine

69 NovaGuy right, its a toss up
