This was really nice! I've made a bunch of these orienteering videos myself, but the added commentary with your thinking and detailed orienteering approach makes a big difference.

Brilliant! So fun to see. You are a good orienteerer! I have seen your stuff without sound before (at 1.5x speed) but this was superb. I was around your capacity 20 years ago but now an old M60 so I can still imagine how it feels to run at that speed. Keep it up, and I for certain would appreciate more with english speaking. I you can cope with that!

Thanks! Great to hear that you liked this one and managed to refresh some old memories! I'm confident that I will continue to do these videos and likely every now and then put together also English versions. Enjoy the summer!

That's a long way to 1st control, wow. So many runners. They always distract me. Great video with commentary.

Thanks! It was indeed a long way to 1st control. Luckily the possibility to use paths and roads made it more reasonable at least partially.

Many thanks for the great video and congratulations for great performance in Jukola. It seems you adjusted somerthing, maybe your lamp during the race? I was wondering if the orienteers do some adjustments to the lamp during race or do they just set the full power at the start and turn off the lamp at the end, if there are no worries on the battery?

You’re most welcome and thanks for the comment and questions. It is pretty typical to make some small fine-tuning to the headstrap or the actual position of the lamp during the race. Maybe some branch hit the lamp and I needed to make a small correction or so. In this competition I set my lamp brightness to level 2/4. It was not too dark in the beginning , so I personally don’t like to use higher levels as it impacts a bit to map reading. However I could have changed the lamp later during the race, but was still okay with the original level. Current headlamps have such a powerful batteries that I could have kept the whole race lamp with the maximum level.

Great as always! You might want to add "headcam" to the title? Or to keywords? (I don't know how this works.) I usually search for "headcam orienteering" when I want to find videos like this. Yours are the best there is, due to the commentary!
