Acer repaired it (screen connection cable), it took 6 weeks and guess what, after 2 weeks it got the same problem AGAIN. 5 weeks later I got it back with the repairing report "connection cable not repaired properly" The plastic around my screen is loose but it still works after 2 years. Love your video btw, you're a pro, as specially with your headcam.

I just came across almost identical model 5733 series acer and screen in damaged i will also put up a video demonstrating removal and re installing this screen once it arrives ...great video!!
Great video! never worked on a laptop before and this made it EASY! the six screw holding in my screen were obstructed by plastic so I also had to loosen (but not remove) the screws that hold the metal frame to the plastic case (one in each top corner, two in each bottom corner), this allowed the screen and frame to come up an eighth of and inch and gave me enough clearance to get the screws in.

I accidently closed this laptop with 2 pens in the middle and now it has a black screen I can hear it power on but its a black screen.do I need to replace the screen or repair something else like censors? ? Please help

i noticed when you read the part number, both times "b156xw02" you skipper the zero, as "b156xw2" is it unimportant, irrelevant, or did you just not notice it? *out of curiosity*
I opened mine to check the back of the screen for the info on the back of it, and i reassemble it and the screen doesn't come on anymore? Did i do something wrong??

The right third of my Acer Aspire 7741G screen has turned into vertical stripes. The rest still functions fine. The colours of the stripes vary sometimes when I wiggle the screen, but sometimes the stripes turn into the mirror image of the right hand side of the screen. Could it be the connector or is it more likely the screen?
I have this laptop and I find that the screen randomly kind of flickers, and sometimes it slowly goes dim and then comes back to normal. Its not a flickering on/off, its just a faint flicker in the back ground

There's nothing I can do to keep it cool, so I want to get at the fan to find the source of the problem. Unfortunately I have no idea how to get to the fan, and the one time I tried, I thought I was going to break my laptop so I stopped. Any advice would be much appreciated.

It's black like the light is on not like it's off. It doesn't show up when I plug in a outside monitor. Is there a way to fix this or should I buy a new screen??

Just finished replacing my acer aspire to this video. My local computer store "NCIX" is a joke. They would have charged me 100$ for this simple procedure anybody can do.
So if there are no exterior cracks, is there still a possibility that the screen needs to be replaced or would I be better off starting somewhere else?
Is the tape necessary or not when attaching the cable to a new screen? If it is necessary can you use simple packing tape or do you need something more specific?

BTW I got it on ebay from a UK supplier. There are plenty suppliers on ebay.com also!

@Matrixpenguin69 most likely yes, sometimes it's a "slim" screen. You can email me a photo with the bezel removed and I can tell.

@damicore 80% chance the screen itself, 20% chance the motherboard. Only way to find out is to try a new screen.
typo... sorry. The mirror image (which replaces the stripes) is of the left third of the screen. :)
