Yall don't get mad at the linemen. Let them work. If you're going to get mad, get mad at the decision makers who weren't prepared. Leave the working men alone.

There were linemen being shot at in Northern California a few years back if I remember correctly.

@@GB-dw3fo Don't know if this has anything to do with it but I've been told Northern California can be dangerous if you're wondering around in the woods, where they may have been to service the lines. "Farmers" take trespassing in their fields very seriously. I heard the same thing in Hawaii many years ago in a state park, don't leave the main trails, pot growers shoot unwelcome guests and if they aren't there, chances are pretty good that they've booby trapped the area

There was almost a fight over nearAlief. There were about 3 CENTERPOINT trucks parked in a parking lot. We were so happy that we were going to get power and AC. Some people were talking to the drivers. Suddenly the head guy tells the others that they had to leave the area. They said that some crew didn’t show up to assist cutting the tree limbs off the power lines, and their boss said they had to move to another area. People were so mad. They wouldn’t even wait for whatever other crew to arrive. Things got escalated fast. Some yelling and screaming. There were a few that were throwing water bottles at the trucks as they were leaving. Not saying that that’s right, but Centerpoint is lying and blaming all of us for this whole mess.

These numbers like "80%", "1.1 million", etc. from Centerpoint do not mean anything to those of us still without power. We don't know who's part of the 80% and who isn't. What we need are estimates of when our areas are going to be assessed and repaired.

What lina hildago needs to do is start an ivestgation into center point and ther shotty response why the hell do they take so long. They are a 2:23 crooked corporation that needs to be looked into they get paid very well for their power generation and they provide terrible service.

Sat morn: We live in a neighborhood off vineyard and Westheimer below Bush park where every other neighborhood around us has power or close dates....but we're still listed as pending review, despite no downed lines, poles, or trees. An inspector was here Weds and said everything is good to go for Weds restoration, but we've never received comms after that, even with Power Alerts, and are still listed as needing review. It's like someone lost the paperwork.
This is a neighborhood with a LOT old elderly and disabled people, and we have no way to talk to CP about it.

If the electric company doesn't do prevention maintenance and upgrades, instead of counting money, this is going to happen again and again. Sue them for lack of preparation and loss of food and money for hotels and generators.

From the office of Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, “Many Houstonians have now gone a week without power! Some had to go to the emergency room because of extreme heat, and a woman has died. Enough is enough! I am calling for a federal investigation into CenterPoint! It is time to get to the bottom of this and hold them accountable!”

Let’s face it yall. Priority for power restoration is going to the higher income neighborhoods. I got a friend that lives in Rice Village and had their power restored within a day of the power going out, compared to my other friend that lives in 5th Ward that they are still in the dark. At the end of the day it’s all about money to these power companies.
