You actually brought the videos back. This makes me happy. I wanted all the videos you created in one playlist, so this is great to see again. Kudos Kevin
I would like to suggest that you make a playlist (on this channel) with JUST the "Game Room" videos. It's just a bit cumbersome to skip the game reviews on the current playlist..I have done it though, watched all the room videoes "manually" ,and it was just so much FUN to watch the progress in system size and TH-cam skill grow. Remember, even if 2022-Kevin thinks the above video is "cringe" - 99% av those of us with old consoles do not have even 25 connected, or a single video published. Even the old videos are inspiring. I think such a playlist would also be interesting to have on the main retro channel, somehow.
please never remove this video, i love going back to it as a holy grail for where my game setup journey, hell if you reupload the forgotten part 2 that went with this video ill donate a cool hundy
Thanks for commenting. I don't think there has been any deleted game room tours. I do them every two years. Including one a month ago on my new channel.
There is something I like about these old collection video's from the first few years of TH-cam. The lighting quality is not so good, but there is a charm to them.
Finally found your video again! I love how streamlined everything is in this setup. It's actually what inspired me to set up my game room (with not nearly as many sweet consoles as you) in a similar manner. I like seeing people's game room tour, but too often they have random crap and figurines and such cluttering up their shelves. I like that yours is all about the consoles. It's like a museum display. Can't wait for the update video!
I always love going back to this video and looking at this amazing setup you have. I would love to try out all those consoles you have. Definitely looking forward to your long-awaited update!
if I walked in a friends house when I was like 10 years old and saw this setup I would literally blast a dookie in my trousers in excitement, even as an adult this is pretty awesome to say the least
Man, that's actually pretty badass, I wish I kept all of my gaming consoles, my first one was atari....jungle hunt and pole position were my favorite games
The great thing about youtube is we get to see lots of interesting stuff. I'll definitively check back your channel in the times to come. Best regards.
Looks great man. I just started collecting again and was looking for a nice way to set everything up. Finally won an auction for top loading NES and picked up Mini SNES. This stuff isn't junk. It's my childhood =)
I'm really thankful for the tips you gave me in the forum. It's because of your set-up that mine is working so well :) One thing I really would like to see in a next video would be you telling the name of each console. There are some intelivision like that I really don't know the name.
Yes that was what everyone thought about the 32x, but it's been done. Also the saturn s-video cables are like $20-$40 bucks when i was looking for them they were hard to find.. So what I do is put the jacks right in the back and tap in to the connector from the bottom of the saturn that way people can use big thick wires to get good video out of it. Also do the region switch on them. But yeah let me know if you are interested in getting yours modded.
First of all. Thank you for showing us such a great collection of consoles. I personally just collect consoles 1990 and up. Also, a neat trick my friend and I to solve our ac adapter plug issue was to use a small thin strip of black tape to thicken the circumference of the ac adapter. This way it will perfectly fit in to the system w/o the ac adapter becoming loose. Hope this helps! Cheers.
Just wanted to say hello Gaming. I feel that console and pc gaming has had a major impact in my life as a youth until present date. But I have never seen such a well designed and thought out setup like yours. Just curious do you braid your cables in the back with cable management? It looks very nice and I would not have the capacity to build something of this magnitude and have it look so clean and organized. Great Job! :)
Still love the setup! Very good points you make, but the biggest is the simplicity of turning things on. You don't have to spend time trying to figure out what switch does what, or if this is plugged in, etc. Great ideas!
Hey man. Beautiful collection! Where did you get the trays that you have systems sitting on? I've been looking for something like those and these seem perfect.
i love your setup and im now looking to build one similar to yours as im up to 17consoles now and getting more soon. i also have 8 handhelds and 5 of them need to be charged so ill be able to use the extra spots on the power bars for that. thank-you for this post. im looking for the other ones you did that are more indepth so i can find out what ill need to build my setup . ive seen it before but now i actually need to build one like it where as i didnt have as many consoles the first time i watched the videos.
wow crazy setup, id like to see how you did it. I'm just worried about the expense. I got around 17 older systems i can hook up and a floor tv. I subbed nice setup you got
Eager to see the new setup, do you have a more definitive ETA now? Other than the end of the year? Super excited!!!! I love your design, it's the best one on TH-cam by far!!!!!
Ok so where does my Vectrex go lol... Thanks man for posting this I just saw this years later and imma use this to hookup all my systems hopefully I dont catch my house on fire
The sega megadrive (genesis) is capable of rgb through scart. It would require you to find better cables and adapters but it doesn't require any modification. Also the 32x uses the same output as the model 2 so why not just use your s video cable on that. It won't degrade the signal. S video can only carry the s video signal. The same as composite can only carry the composite signal. That's where scart is far superior. It can carry s video, composite and true rgb signal. It's unfortunate that it wasn't released outside of Europe to any degree.
Nice OCD setup sir,and a crt to enjoy those retro systems on,it must be hard deciding what to play with all these systems though,i struggle what to play on 5 retro systems :)
A wall to cover up your wires. Thanks for your advice on the Pelican switch box and Power outlet... this saves a lot of time when setting up multiple game systems.
Question: I can't find ready shelves on amazon or staples for some reason. I was thinking about using those metal paper holders that they sell at Wal-Mart and turn them upside down. Would that work?
very neat, exactly how I would like mine to be, I have only about 30 consoles but only have my dreamcast ps3 ps4 & 360 set up to play, all the others are displayed similar to this but not hooked up,its just too much work atm to hook up a particular system ,I forget where I put the cords etc,,so they hardly ever get played, such a shame, the power strips with the buttons are very cool, where do you get them & wot are they called? thanks from the UK,
Not sure what you mean. The controller cords are tucked into the trays, so when I go to play them, I just untuck the cords. That goes for every system in the top row.
I believe he means while you are playing on any of the Top-Center shelf Consoles, that while you are playing, the cords will be dangling in front of the TV.
Great setup, I noticed you talked about the svideo out of your genesis. I modded my own, but since then i got the RGB cable and hooked it up to an upscaler to hook up to an hd crt. looks amazing way better than svideo. look in to it and check it out.
this is pretty sweet, i hope you will eventually do a video like this for your modern gaming setup. gonna try this idea myself... my mega drive is feeling a little dusty
@GamingTheSystems yes talking about black shelving. i used to work at home depot in florida. we sold them there. it's cool i understand the misunderstanding. i wasn't very specific in the last post.
Great collection! The Famicom works like the Odyssey 2 you got. You have to pull it out like that because of short cords, but it has great Japanese exclusives like King Kong 2.
0:48 Hmm, think I am hearing some revenge of shinobi music? You are a console setting up god. Im the guy from digitpress. My shelving is very similar to yours, so thinking the rack mount power supply things will fit well on the top of my shelving like yours do. Found that item on amazon, they have a teeny tiny picture, so you cant realize how wide those things are ha. Your video helped me visualize them better. Eventually when I get my consoles setup, I'll post a video on my channel about it.
I wonder, why you never put something like a black canvas behind the game systems, than you will see no cables and with your led lightning it will give a nice effect ? Just an idea.
maybe you could build a wall with the left over "redi made" shelf parts. That might look cool. you might have to screw them together so that they don't fall apart, could make an interesting project.
How do you play the system farthest away from the TV? It seems like you have to play the game awkwardly if the controller doesn't reach the front of the TV.
Collectors often use CRT's for retro consoles and makes the games look fantastic. Personally I go with a Sony Wega Trinitron. I like that better than the bubble myself.
I have around 15 systems I'd like to hook up simultaneously to 3 tvs, output from all 15 to all 3 tvs. What's the best kind of central boxes or av switcher boxes I should use to handle this? They all also have multiple kinds of outputs just like your systems. Thanks
home depot, lowes, office depot, ect carries the "trays". just cheap snap-together tower shelving. i know i am not the publisher of the video. just have the same shelving here in my garage.
How about a video tour of your game collection? The consoles are awesome, but I'm curious to see all of your games for the different systems and how you display them.
I understand this. I have a modded wii with all of the retro games, but I still prefer my SNES and NES. Something about the old school system takes me back. It just feels right.
hi, i dont have any scart input on my TV.. but i do have a RGB input! im starting to get quite a few consoles that run off a RF coaxial, is there any splitters you suggest. or what would you do? PLEASE HELP Thanks
Sweet set up. If I had a game room and more $$ I'd probably do something similar. CRT tv's ftw ! I still have a few old systems and keep a CRT just for this.
whats nice is videogame companeys are talking about going back to the old ways of chips in carts and modified memory cards like in the sega master system
See what this setup looks like in 2022 on my other channel: th-cam.com/video/KjKD_bYGapg/w-d-xo.html
You actually brought the videos back. This makes me happy. I wanted all the videos you created in one playlist, so this is great to see again. Kudos Kevin

This isn't a "OMG, look at all my PS3 gamez" collection, it's more of" I love and respect this hobby" collection. INFINITE props...
please never remove this video, i love going back to it as a holy grail for where my game setup journey, hell if you reupload the forgotten part 2 that went with this video ill donate a cool hundy
Thanks for commenting. I don't think there has been any deleted game room tours. I do them every two years. Including one a month ago on my new channel.
There is something I like about these old collection video's from the first few years of TH-cam. The lighting quality is not so good, but there is a charm to them.
It's always a cool experience going back in the video timeline
Finally found your video again! I love how streamlined everything is in this setup. Thank you. I do have other video game items in the room, but never felt like sharing them. Just a bunch of games and accessories.
yeah, I deleted that because I got to that moment when you talk bout extension cables.
One of the best set ups I have ever seen. Clean and utilitarian. And you have an Atari XE hooked up for gods sakes.
Beautiful.
Man, that's actually pretty badass, I wish I kept all of my gaming consoles, my first one was atari....jungle hunt and pole position were my favorite games
The great thing about youtube is we get to see lots of interesting stuff. I'll definitively check back your channel in the times to come. Best regards.
you been collecting since forever and grew up with lots of games and collected many consoles he obviously means you were very fortunate to do so
Cable management is one of the best parts of the set up. It looks organized bundled together like a nervous system.
How about encasing everything in glass walls, to prevent dust buildup?
Sick setup.Major props.
00:59 INGENIOUS; I would always pay admission for any events you might hold in that station!!!
Looks great man. I just started collecting again and was looking for a nice way to set everything up. Finally won an auction for top loading NES and picked up Mini SNES. This stuff isn't junk. It's my childhood =)

even though it's not the best video/audio quality. it's still the most impressive setup i personally have ever seen.
only issue I see is playing the consoles above the tv looks like the cords would get in way of tv
I didn't know there were so many different consoles out there. I am happy with my PlayStation. Thanks for sharing. Game on.
I got the link from the DP boards and now I'm a happy subscriber. Great stuff!
Very nice set-up. I am collecting systems now to do the same thing.
I wasn't sure how to connect them all, but with this video I now do.
Thanks.
Still love the setup! Very good points you make, but the biggest is the simplicity of turning things on. You don't have to spend time trying to figure out what switch does what, or if this is plugged in, etc. Great ideas!
Simply flawless, as of that of a thoroughly examined Diamond deemed peerless. Ohhhh, how I WANT it!
You ability to hide wires is amazing I am so OCD with set ups but this one is awesome
Hey man. Beautiful collection! Where did you get the trays that you have systems sitting on? I've been looking for something like those and these seem perfect.

allan fulton I have 13 so far
I'm not much of a gamer, but that is truly amazing! Awesome work!
So if you want to play the one on the top right shelf youll have to dangle the controllers and put chairs near their and look at the tv from the side
This is a masterpiece
wow crazy setup, id like to see how you did it. I'm just worried about the expense. I got around 17 older systems i can hook up and a floor tv. I subbed nice setup you got
This is an awesome set up man kudos to your collection!
i truly envy you, great setup, and the way the systems are displayed is great too. good job
Joshua Einsele ikr
uh... how the hell do you keep them all dust free?

i have died and gone to heaven for 8 min and 45 seconds ty ... omg now i can spoil my husband when i set his man cave up
Awesome job man, i'm looking to do something similar and I was needing ideas for shelving and cable hookups. Thanks bro.
That's an amazing setup. Looks like you put a lot of thought and time into it.
Nice OCD setup sir,and a crt to enjoy those retro systems on,it must be hard deciding what to play with all these systems though,i struggle what to play on 5 retro systems :)

adrastos2 After the video was posted I added a couple of hooks that guide the Dreamcast and Jaguar cords around the TV, so they don't get in the way.
Cool beans. Nice not having Cords in your way while playing Crazy Taxi =)
Great setup, I noticed you talked about the svideo out of your genesis. I modded my own, but since then i got the RGB cable and hooked it up to an upscaler to hook up to an hd crt. looks amazing way better than svideo. look in to it and check it out.

@GamingTheSystems yes talking about black shelving. i used to work at home depot in florida. we sold them there. it's cool i understand the misunderstanding. i wasn't very specific in the last post.
Sorry. I just saw your other video. I can't seem to find the redi-shelves online though. Any idea where I might be able to score some?
I'm in search of a right TV for NES/Genesis/SNES. What size is your TV? Is 27" TV would be my best bet? What do you think of the JVC I'Art series?
Great collection! The Famicom works like the Odyssey 2 you got. You have to pull it out like that because of short cords, but it has great Japanese exclusives like King Kong 2.
Retro gaming on regular TVs is amazing. It didn't feel the same playing on a 42 inch flatscreen...
Very nice set up!!! No HD TV?

Blew me away this room you have. Impressive.
Did you post it up? I'll take a look at it :)
Great setup!
Great to hear man!!!! Can't wait!!!!

I'm looking forward to seeing the new set up.
So beautiful. I wish I had that setup.
2:29 why do you have genesis controllers hooked up to that atari? are they compatible somehow?
Do you live in the Uk by any chance. I may be able to help you with your setup if you do :)
Woah.. I wonder how your childhood was like haha. Amazing setup bro :)
Thought of adding Amiga CD32?
I gotta know where you got those black plastic trays? and what are they called?
got to love shinobi 2's music in the background ! awesome man!
How do you play the system farthest away from the TV? It seems like you have to play the game awkwardly if the controller doesn't reach the front of the TV.
Dude this is just pure awesomeness!!

Thanks
nice set up. can tell you put alot of planning and work into it.
what do you do if you wanna play with the super scope (snes) and the power glove (nes) ?
any way to hook up to a 80 inch modern t.v.
Sweet set up. If I had a game room and more $$ I'd probably do something similar. CRT tv's ftw ! I still have a few old systems and keep a CRT just for this.
I'm kinda confused - Is the RGB output the red, yellow, white one?
Retro systems, Retro camera. You gotta be consistent. :D
Ahhh I'm watching it now. Thanks man those trays are a great idea!
Nice for an older setup great work.
I am actually in the middle of making my own set up. I can't find the link to the second vid. lil help?
Beautifully clean setup.
whats nice is videogame companeys are talking about going back to the old ways of chips in carts and modified memory cards like in the sega master system
This looks cool, you could put something behind the systems so that even the cables aren't visible...
Pretty sweet set up man. I hope You have good insurance for all that stuff. Could be quite pricy to replace it if Your home caught fire or what not.
excellent setup man! Good stuff!
where did you get those trays for your consoles?
What tv should I buy to be able to play these consoles on
You my friend are the biggest geek ever!....that's not an insult though, I love it lol. Awsome setup and collection!
nicely organized. I'm sure controller extension cords must be used for some system. Awesome job though!
