Kind of sad he doesn't seem to be planning on finishing the game in the future. Title Defence is really cool, though difficult. Plus there's the Donkey Kong fight which is a lot of fun.
I'm glad they used actual words in each language instead of gibberish that sounds like the language. Hondo, for example says "Ichi Nii San Ora" when winding up his big punch, this translates to "1, 2, 3 hyah" or some other battle cry. He can also be heard saying "Shimata!" when being hit, this translates to, "Shit!"
Hondo also quotes traditional Japanese proverbs in the round breaks, and in Title Defense, he's reading a Sailor Moon manga between rounds! This game is a full labor of love with huge amounts of care given to it.
Actually no, the Mike Tyson equivalent is Title Defense Mr. Sandman. He even has the winking and everything. Still wish he played the game again and got to DK, would of been fun to see.
@@fishpickles7316 I said TITLE DEFENSE. Obviously normal Mr. Sandman is gonna act like his NES counterpart. Title Defense Sandman has different moves to make him harder, which are inspired from the Mike fight on the NES.
This game is a price of artwork. Here is why... Bruh, I genuinely think that Punch-Out!! Wii is one of the greatest games of all time because it is simply the absolute pinnacle of it's genre, that being a strange amalgamation of timing based puzzle game boss rush, with rhythm and fighting elements. This game is truly a spectacle and an amazing guidepost of design and quality that other game designers strive to replicate, with an unparalleled amount of love and attention to detail the gaming scene hasn't seen since, and for that I know that this game will stick in the hearts of many for countless years to come.
Anybody else curious about all the dialogue lines in other languages? I'm certain they add to the overall context of each fight (Bald Bull was talking directly to Doc at one point, which suggests they'd met before), but I sadly only speak English, a bit of German and Japanese, and enough Spanish to figure out Don Flamenco's trash talk (such as it is.)
I question why they didn't include subtitles between rounds like they did for Doc. The staff went through the trouble to have the boxers speak multiple languages and yet made us use outside sources for translations.
@@raikonzero Given that Doc pretty much just acted as the game's Hint system rather than a character in his own right, I suspect the devs didn't even _think_ of the dialogue as needing subtitles.

"Kahretsin" which he shouts a lot is a Turkish equivalent to "dammit." The characterization in this game is so perfect and it just gets better the more you learn about it.
