Siloam Springs is a great little city. Very family oriented and has an educational system that is one of the top and don't forget to go to the kayak park. NWA (NORTH WEST ARKANSAS) is home to Walmart, Tyson Foods and J B Hunt Trucking. The area is known worldwide for it's bike trails and outdoor lifestyle. The #1 museum of American Art "Crystal Bridges" and an international art museum "The Momentum." We have everything here you find in major metropolitan areas across the country. We have concert venues and theater. Great eats, if you want it we have it here. The area population is around 1,000,000 from the 2020 census. Btw the Latino population in Siloam is mainly El Salvadoran. I ❤️ my Pupusas! I am a transplant from Michigan, been here since April 92. It is home.

NWA is also known for Olivia Newton-John and the Auto Shop Teacher in Grease Alice Ghostly who is buried in Siloam.

Can you share more about the school systems? When we look at homes online the school reviews are rated pretty low here compared to Bentonville areas

@@DeannaShelton09Like all the school districts in NWA classroom sizes are smaller and the schools are broken up K-2nd, 3rd-5th, 6th-8th and 9th-12th grades. In the high school the 9th grade is somewhat separate from the rest. My kids graduated in 2014 and 2017. They received a good education and enjoyed their school years. One went to college the other a trades program offered by the school district that some major companies sent their employees to for OSHA certifications for example. I've seen kids come in from other states that are behind kids here educationally and have to catch up. The major difference is that Bentonville schools do not offer a curriculum other than college curriculum is my understanding based on the number of business executives living there. Siloam Springs has also been listed as one of the best small cities in the US according to the Smithsonian Magazine. That was about 10 years ago. A gentleman that was passing through once told me "It's the best little town no ones ever heard of." He also said he was going to come back to visit again and stay a little longer. I don't believe you would go wrong if you moved here. Siloam also has it's own utilities. All on one bill, except gas. In the summer there are movies in the park. The farmers market, bike and walking trails. In April we have the Dogwood festival. There is a 4k run, a father and daughter dance as well as a water park. Just to name a few things.

Did you know the chicken you eat most likely came from North West Arkansaw?

@BartTheTurkeyCat There's more than just the Tyson brand that comes out of NWA.

Did you know that the name was originally "Hico" then "Siloam City"? In March 1880 J.V. Hargrove laid out the original plat of Siloam City. The name was later changed to Siloam Springs. "Siloam" refers to the healing waters of the Pool of Siloam in the New Testament (John 9:16).
Siloam Springs is also the home of The John Brown University.
The Civil War also came through Siloam Springs.
The Allen Canning Company is in Siloam Springs. They created "Popeye Spinach" and still cans it and is available nation wide.
Several Poultry Processing Plants are in Siloam like Simmons and Ventris.
Siloam was also a "sundown town" and advertised itself as all White. Not many years ago. Before the corrupt US government flooded the Country with millions and millions of the world's population so they could stay in office all their lives from those votes.
Alice Margaret Ghostly a well known actress spent several years in Siloam in her early years and her ashes are with her parents grave site in Siloam. Alice played the Shop Teacher in the movie "Grease"
In 1980 CBS television network filmed a mini series in the North West Arkansas area called The Blue and the Gray. It portrayed two families each on other rides and depicted the Civil War accurately. If you've seen the movie the House and barn at the beginning of the movie and throughout still exists between Bentonville and Cave Springs. But don't go to that house. You won't be welcome there.
Not too many years ago NWA was prominently "White". When the poultry industry there got too big supplying the whole Nation and all over the world Don Tyson and Bill Clinton went to Mexico and put up signs saying that if you want a job come to Springdale Arkansas and work for Tyson's. This was about the mid 1980's. Since 911 all of the USA has been transformed from what and how it was into what it is today and that has .ade the USA almost unrecognizable.

Allen Canning Company closed and eventually became Del Monte. Del Monte eventually closed also. But Allen Canning Company hasn't produced anything in years.

Benton County Arkansas also has the largest Civil War Battlefield in the Nation. It's in Pea Ridge Arkansaw. It's a drive through Battlefield. The Elk Horn Tavern was there and has a recreation built. There are several Civil War Historical Sites in Benton & Washington Counties.

Where do you get your information from. Siloam Springs is not 26% Latino. It is 71.31% White. Two or more Races are 13.28%. Native American 5.91%. And other races 5.70%.
You also pronounced Arkansas incorrectly. It is pronounced Arkansaw. The word "Arkansas" came from the Quapaw Indians, by way of early French explorers. Arkansas was named for the French plural of the Native Indians in the area. When the letter "s" is at the end of a French word it is silent. This is way we pronounce it "Arkansas".
Now, go do some research before you incorrectly pronounce my home state and while you research it research why Kansas is not pronounced Kansaw.

@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS where do you get your info fro.? And no, it will not be in 10 years. They are not building any new home or apartments for new people to buy or rent and everything is full. All of NWA is full and there are no plans to build more homes or apartments because it is not wanted. Mote people to move in those towns are unwanted and so the building of new has slowed drastically and will come to an end soon except those who live there now who may decide to build themselves a new home.

There's so much more to Siloam than you could fit in this video. I lived there from 2004 to 2018. When you drove past Cobb sign near the end of the video, there's a great walking path tucked in there and it's also near where the city held the turkey trot 5k, which I've done. I don't get to visit much but we went today and also 6 months ago in April for the Dogwood festival. Very picturesque city with great history and incredible trails but not too big. It has built up extensively since 2004. ❤
