Nice to see the interior being cleaned up before the rebuild. It’s the one thing that’s always bugged me with the rebuilds 😂 the guys slap everything back in and I’ve never understood why you wouldn’t give it all a good clean up beforehand.
You boyz need to do a tour around America.. Similar to what the UK Top Gear lads did, getting up to all sorts of shenanigans and meeting fans.. Would make great content and mix the chanel up a bit in my opinion..

It’s looking good guys. One thing I would have done differently is while I had the drivetrain out and went as far as to clean the whole rear drivetrain, I would have cleaned the front cradle too. Other than that it’s looking great.

maybe if you put some clear PPF on both sides of that clear center part of the hood you can keep it looking new longer, protect from heat, sun, and scratches... if you have time get a proper billet aluminum one or titanium clutch, it will spool faster for a more fun driving experience...
The newer ZR1 has the auto hatch pull down where the 2008 Z06 doesn't have that.... that's why the ZR1 latch is bigger. It was added back later but 2008 did not have it.

@HaulinWithD still doesn't change what I said about them being different. It's not their condition of them. One has stitching on headrest, and the other doesn't. Buyer probably salvaged them over time and got away with selling them as matching set. Or maybe a mistake and grabbed and shipped the wrong one, I am willing to give them that, but it still doesn't change what I said about them being different.

I know how you'll keep that hood perfect. It's gonna need a ECU tune and that'll never happen. So it'll just sit on the stacker with the rest of the cars that need a dyno tune that'll never happen 😉
Would be cool if you kept the zr1 tub, chopped the front frame horns, tube framed it. Have a shop build a roll cage, put the cheap ebay lamborghini body work on it and build it as a vette lamborghini drag car.
You guys are absolutely nuts !!!! Why on gods green earth would you not install the upgraded fuel pump and injectors while the engine and fuel tanks where out of the car !!!! It would have been 1000% easier to do it then !!!! You will see what im talking about !!! I helped my friend do it on his Z06 !!!

As far as DMV is concerned, will this car be a Z06 on the title due to the frame VIN or a ZR1 from the engine VIN? Also, salvage title or no? Just curious how this works with a frame/tub swap. Cool project!
Same for not doing the fuel system as well. Injectors and all are way easier when the entire dang thing is out of the entire car.. Now you gotta lean over the fender and risk dropping crap in the engine bay and loosing it and potentially scratching up the fenders. Even with fender skirts it’ll swirl / micro scratch that paint up. But seeing how the dirty interior was put back together it’s just another goonz rebuild lol good enough should be a motto on the wall in the shop.
Why don’t you guys build a exoskeleton vette like Cleetus’s beloved Leroy. You can do it the Goonzquad way! 😎🤙🏽 All you need is a tube chasis on the front and that’s it!
I would love to see you guys update stereos in vehicles when you have them this far apart. Maybe add some sound deadening. I know you are going for performance but you guys aren't going for top 1% times and stuff make cars enjoyable. I have had several new vehicles and I have never regrated updating stereo.
you should start by writing your autograph on the inside of a part of your projects. so that all the cars you fix have your signature hidden somewhere :)
I really wish they would stop buying new cars to build, fix and take the cars they do have and finish them 100% !!!! The Camaro and Porsche have been sitting forever along with alot of other cars of theirs !!!!! The cars are gonna get ruined and start leaking all over if they dont drive them or let them warm up like once a month !!! I have told Simon and Elizar so many times in the comments to make videos of them driving their cars kinda like DDE or Stradman and people will love it !!! Like once a week just make a video of you ripping a different one of your cars and having fun !!! It would help the cars so they dont just sit forever and it would make us happy because we love watching you guys rebuild the cars and are as excited as you guys are to see it driving !!! You gotta do more videos of you guys driving the cars and doing launches, burnouts, drifts and what not !!!! But i 100% love you guys keep up the amazing work !!!!

I noticed that as well. Maybe it is the original seat to the car, but it got reupholstered at some point for sure.

Could be wrong, maybe it was the C5, but I THINK the base C6 cars had steel frame rails, so they'd be less likely to be damaged as bad.

Yep, the stitching around the ZR1 embroidery is different between the 2 seats....
My zr1 had the bose system. It was the 3lz package

Those seats are from different years. One is a 2009 and the other is a 2011 I believe. The headrest stiching is the tell.
