  • This video will show you how to install and route the microphone for GROM Bluetooth car kits.
There are many locations available where you can route the microphone. Choose place where the microphone can pick up voice the best.
Locations shown in this video: at the top and by the gauges.
Once the microphone and GROM Bluetooth Dongle are installed, you will be able to make the hands free phone calls, and speak with the other people using the provided microphone and car stereo speakers.
Microphone is also useful if you would like to use voice activation to start the phone call, or to search for the music via Dashlinq app.

I never thought about installing the microphone right next to the gauge cluster, but that was so easy and effective, I abandoned any plans for anything more complicated than that. Thanks for the great idea! It's working just wonderfully.

Seriously why do SO many of these install vids avoid the under the dash routing?!?! SURELY that's the trickiest and most important part?!?!? SO frustrating!!

Those are great ideas. I had one I put in a headliner, but I like your suggestions.

Are there any options to make one look more OEM? Like with a grill or cover in the headliner? Seeing the mic doesn’t look aesthetically pleasing to me.

It really depends on the installation and preferences. However you need to remember that it is the microphone, so make sure you don't block it. The ultimate goal is to make sure the microphone is picking up your voice well.

Couldn't you attach the microphone BEHIND the interior light on the headliner so that it couldn't be seen? what would the quality be like then?

You do not want any obstructions to the microphone; although we supply omnidirectional microphones, we still see if it is not facing the driver or if it is installed behind a panel that there have been issues in regards to sound quality. We usually place them by the review mirror to hide it as well as possible and have never had anyone mind the location. In most instances, if we do not point it out after the installation, the customer would not notice that we had added it.

I have a car that doesn't have Bluetooth as an option on the stereo, would your kits add Bluetooth to the stereo for music streaming as well as calling?

It depends on the specific display you installed.
