dude! congrats (although I totally just discovered you for home roasting hahaha). I was gonna ask about the transition from an electric home roaster to a gas production machine but I see thats been asked. Other than the difference from the bullet, how do you like the ambex machines in general?

Congratulations on the job change! Dead River Coffee is the place that introduced me to specialty coffee almost 7 years ago. As a bullet roaster myself I've always wondered how difficult it would be to transition to a larger gas roaster. What are some of the things you've learned roasting on a commercial roaster?

Yeah! The previous owner introduced me to the Aeropress in the first place. Since then I'd had a great connection with Dead River Coffee visiting as often as I could over the years.
I'll try to make a Q/A video soon addressing this in detail, but in short, moving from the bullet to these gas machines was far easier than I anticipated. Roasts are far less volatile and phase changes tend not to get too rushed through. The Bullet was a great machine to learn on before jumping to gas production roasters though. Fundamentals are there. That makes it an easy jump.

Congratulations on the progress in pursuing your dream! Does this mean those of us outside Michigan can get some of the coffee you are roasting?

Thank you! And yes, visit DeadRiverCoffee.com/Beans and you can see our current offerings. At this point everything we have in stock has been roasted by me (roasting daily) so you definitely can!
