Awesome Matt! Lot of Big Uglies.That's an epic fishing adventure for sure! Glad Ruben made it okay man! I used to fish for big uglies in Packery, but I now target them in the surf. I was out this past weekend, and caught a lot of reds and three black drums. Great video man! Keep them coming 😀
Thank you we really appreciate it! We were planning to see if there was any Redfish and got surprised with lots of Black Drum. I know they are tearing the Black Drum up at the piers along the Causeway. We don't care to fish them because they are just too crowded to have people bump in to all your and deal with the tangled lines.

Yeah it was pretty sketchy... definitely a lot easier catching them along the Causeway and at the piers. 😂 just need those Jacks to hurry up and come in.

Lol the tape sure does turn some heads. If we had known they were there we would have brought the heavy tackle to make it a lot easier.

@@MattsSaltwaterFishing Sure is!! I’ve been skunked the last 3 trips!!! Went to the surf last week and the sea weed was just crazy. Got tired of reeling in 20lbs of weeds after 2 hours. I packed up and went to the jetties, but nothing took! I’m ready for those Pelagics! I’m still planning on going and fish with y’all boys this season!

We have not, but would like to give them a try next time we use Fishbites.
What size circle hooks are you using for the fishbites?
We were going after slots that's why we had the 4/0 hooks. If targeting Big Black Drum and using cran then probably around a 7/0 eagle claw.
What flavor fish bites were you using?
Shrimp and Crab flavors.
