Regardless how these guys (ie all the pistons at that time) alot of them still made the wrong decision to walk off and not do the correct thing ie "etiquette" Joe Dumars a gentleman RESPECT 😔🙏 Isiah need to live with it (which I'm sure he does) but Isiah's actions put a roadblock as far as representing team USA (aka the Dream Team in 92) that he'll find hard to do until he dies "IT IS WHAT IT IS"🤔

@Flint Mi He shouldn't have fired Rick Carlisle either for Larry Brown bcuz Rick is a great coach he just needs the talent to win chips like he did in Dallas.Rick is a good offense and defensive coach unlike Brown who is mostly defense and help cost them that chip against the Spurs bcuz his plays were predictable every possession

We can call this a huge accomplishment. His defense is incredible, even mike say it. it means something. + he won a piston ring as a coach too, this dude is everywhere in the history of pistons, one of the biggest franchises in history. Don't put out narratives that aren't true just to give terrible reasoning for putting down anybody. MJ was younger than Larry and Magic so when they retired he will still be playing. At age 35, MJ was the oldest player to win regular season MVP scoring title all star game MVP and Finals MVP. That's why they proclaimed him the greatest by dominating the league at that age which nobody done anything close.

Joe Dumars was ALWAYS my favorite Piston from the Bad Boy Piston days. He was, and still is, class personified. One of the more underrated stars of his time. Joe Dumars really let Isiah shine because of his personality...but he was as talented, but not as flashy as Isiah. He reminds me of what Klay Thompson is today to Steph Curry...one doesn't win without the other. Michael Jordan always had the highest respect for Joe as a player and as a man. Whenever MJ knew he was going to go against Dumars...he knew he had to step his game to another level...Joe D was nothing to play with on both sides of the ball. Granted, these guys had physicality , but they knew a thing or two about tactics (how different types of screens work, or set plays) , and they knew far more about post game than current players (to the point that one of them , Hakeem , develop an arsenal of post moves that no one has managed to replicate to his perfection). Granted too, they did not have a side step/back step nor drenched buckets of 3s (because they were practicying other stuff, mostly) , but these guys are far removed from the plumbers that JJ Reddick and pals want to make us see. I still have to see someone that has more effective handles and crossover than Isiah Thomas or best footwork and post moves than Hakeem Olajuwon.

Some of you clowns act as if the Pistons of that era were all ex-cons grouped together in an NBA team given the okay to terrorize the league. They weren’t on some type of special work release program. They played physical, defensive focused ball in an era where the league was physical. They had a backcourt that was virtually unmatched in the league at the time in terms of depth and potency (Thomas, Dumars and Vinnie Johnson). A front court that had the range to defend in the paint and the perimeter at an elite level along with players (Laimbeer, Aguirre, James Edwards) with a perimeter game to keep their opponents honest.

MJ has never beaten Larry Legend...Boston swept them twice. Shaq , Kobe, and the Spurs ruled the 00's out west and Detroit rule out east until D Wade & Shaq and then Lebron out East. I attended St. Louis High, very near the McNeese campus. It was pleasure to witness his career. People took note of his defensive skills (Joe's brother was a DB for the Jets), but the man could score. He left college as the 11th all-time leading scorer in NCAA history. Dumars always new how to adapt to what was needed, though. The Pistons already had Isiah, Kelley Tripucka, Vinny Johnson and John Long when he arrived. They needed defense and versatility. Does anyone ever remember Joe arguing a call? Yep, that was Gentleman Joe D.
