Cassandra Peterson, Pee-wee Herman, Tequila, and Paul Reubens working as a hotel desk clerk. It turns out this movie heavily inspired Pee-wee's Big Adventure.
The director in that scene was John Paragon, who played Jambi on Pee Wee's Playhouse.
Dark haired woman next to Cassandra is Rita Wilson, wife of Tom Hanks.

I saw this in 1980 when I was 12 years old at the drive-in. The other movie on the Bill was Caddyshack. Good times.👍
Me 2 in Fresno California then I seen it like 5 or more times at the walk in. Snuck in I was about the same age. I was born in 68

I was 6 years old when this came out. In 1985 my local cineplex played Up In Smoke and Next Movie as a double feature, that was a cool showing.
Cheech and Chong were really great about finding new young talent and putting them in things before they got big.
Stoner comedies also had a very hard time casting back then. They were often left with no choice but to try new cheap talent.
Fun fact: Donna's husband in real life was Pat Morita (AKA Mr. Miyagi Karate Kid)- Wax on, wax off, baby!

The scenes with Edie McClurg are some of the best. She's so funny and I love her in anything she's in.
It's weird, though, that this movie said "Introducing Edie McClurg" because didn't Carrie come out in 1976? And shirley Edie was in some other stuff in between that and this picture.

Clint Eastwood made 2 comedies in 1978 and 1980 playing a street boxer.
In these 2 movies, he fights cops, bikers, and his pet orangutan Clyde.
But there are also a lot of laughs, nice Country music, and some romance.

I have a friend who is Mexican. He lost his drivers license, so for a while I would drive him to work in the morning. Every morning when he got in my truck I would sing "Mexican Americans don't like to get up early in the morning but they have to so they do it real slow". He would say "Do you have to sing that every morning"? I would just say "Yep".
This was one of a handful of movies where I had to stop/pause the movie repeatedly because I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe. The double-piss sip, the chopper exhaust killing the shrubs, and the gasoline scene demolished me.
Damn. Go watch literally any stoner comedy from 2000 onward and you just might die. This comedy style got insanely absurdly better than this.
@@derpderpin1568 Well, the rest of the film wasn't that good, I was mostly talking about specific gags like Space Coke, etc.
But HOW HIGH couldn't decide if its purpose was to be funny or weed-focused. So it kept getting in its own way of the jokes to be more about "weeeeeeeed man!" Even HALF-BAKED realized that not every single joke in the film had to be about weed, especially since Method and Red are already so goddamn funny on their own.
The only stoner comedy I've seen since 2000 that was worth a damn was SMILEY FACE, which was *hilarious.*

Michael Winslow (best known as Larvell Jones, the sound effects guy, in the Police Academy films), had his first role major movie role in the welfare office scene.
I saw this at the drive in with The Blues Brothers and Xanadu. A very memorable night at the movies.
I'm 67, the pee jar in the van scene is in my top 10 funniest skits ever... My favorite C & C movie by far....

The "Beautiful Woman" who was Mrs. Tommy Chong was the daughter of Edie McClurg and "Chicken Charlie".
This is a special favorite of mine because a friend of my family, Dennis Parrish, was the prop master (he also worked on Spaceballs) and another friend, the mother of my son's childhood buddy, was one of the ladies in the "massage parlor".
Wow. You cut that whole scene with Cheech coming home. And I was just thinking how nice it was that you got the Towering Inferno joke. Inexcusable.
This is my favorite of their movies. There's no real plot to it, just a series of crazy skits strung together. That wasn't CGI but a spotlight or laser through the smoke. The UFO was probably green screened on or drawn in.
Seen this flick at the drive in theaters back when I was 8 yrs of age today I'm 51.this is definitely a different era in time. 😊

I just watched an episode of Rich Eisen on TH-cam. He had Judge Reinhold as his guest because Eddie Murphy is releasing 4th movie of Beverly Hills Cop coming out next month on Netflix. During the interview, Judge stated Stripes was supposed to be a Cheech & Chong movie, but deal felled thru without a contract. So, Ramis and Murray stepped to create Stripes. Another story: Judge stated that during filming of Stripes, he informed late great John Candy (Ox) that county with Fort Knox located is a dry county. John from Canada didn't understand of "dry" county. Judge tried to explain Candy of no alcohol (beer) cannot be sold in that county. So, Candy gotten hold some Teamsters, and he gotten beers on iced in his hotel room. Plus, Judge stated actors were practicing that famous drill sequence in Candy's room with wooden gun props.
I remember seeing this movie for the first time. So good 😂

Yep. That's what I came here to report. I saw this before Rita Wilson was famous, but when I saw it again years later, I was like, "holy shit, that's Rita Wilson Who Was Also In A Brady Bunch Episode, which is my full name for her.
Also, Volunteers, Tommy and Rita were both funny in that.

Yes, that's future Police Academy legend Micheal Winslow at the welfare office. Fun fact-back in the 90s, I worked at BK. He did the training videos. Yes, with all the appropriate sound effects. The weirdest training video I've ever seen. And by the way, that "Harry Potheads" joke was pretty funny. Very well done!

While his work with Tommy is classic, Cheech's solo work is good too. Born in East LA is worth a watch, and the titular parody of Born in the USA is another of Cheech's humorous songs.

The one I'm hoping you get to is "Cheech & Chong's 'The Corsican Brothers'", which is their take on the classic story by Alexandre Dumas of two brothers so connected to each other that each can feel what the other experiences. It's utterly silly, I think you'll enjoy it.

And Things are tough all over, which isn't too bad either.
Corsican Brothers is not as good as the rest of C & C, but it definitely has some very funny and enjoyable moments.

There was no CGI in 1978.
Fun Fact: Stripes was originally "Cheech and Chong Join The Army". Offered to Murray to try and save the production. Not Fun Fact: the entire principal's office from Ferris Bueller is a shitshow. Edie's recent life isn't something I'd wish on my worst enemy and, well, we don't talk about Jeff Jones...
