Thanks for watching everyone 🙏👍 Check out more of my VoicePlay reactions here 👉 th-cam.com/play/PLF8rPuJ_-62JyE3gP1Fjhnh2e69jyozh_.html And have a Merry Christmas 🎅🎄🎁
Yes, "Sexy Geoff" sings high, low, and in between. For this video, he tied up his brother-in-law to play Santa. Family dynamics! IIRC, we can thank Layne for that super low note. "Just try it!" he said. And internet history was made. Thanks for your reaction, always enjoyable. Happy holidays!
And IIRC that note blew a lot of minds when this came out. It is of course a subharmonic note. And while Geoff’s brother in law physically plans Santa, he was voiced by Eli ( the other guy in red on the stage)
Thanks for the reaction. The guy you didn't know is Earl Elkins Jr an original member with Geoff and Layne. They've been friends since Jr High. A lot of people are amazed with Geoff's final note, but he has since gotten lower. I also believe this song gave him more confidence to start his solo channel when Covid happened. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong)
Yes, that's Geoff. This song is a good showcase for his range, from that super low note at the end, to those higher belts. The guy with the beard you asked about is former member Earl Elkins Jr. When he left, not long after this, they started using guest singers, and the next year when J. None joined the Navy, they brought Cesar in. Santa , I think, was played by Geoff's brother in law, but was voiced by Eli. Merry Christmas. 🎄☃
VoicePlay has been around in one version or another for over 20 years. One of their prior line-ups, when they were known as 4:2:Five is on Spotify. So you'll see different members. And some prior members like Scott Porter and Mykal Kilgore sometimes show up in current songs. And yep, this is a "gateway" video, for a lot of people into VoicePlay. It rocks. But if you think that's the lowest you've heard Geoff go, if you've heard Valhalla Calling, he actually goes much lower in that, they just really played up the subharmonic note in this one. And I hope you don't miss Geoff's latest, "Carol of The Bells," which is creeping up on one million views already. I don't think anyone will complain if you do it, or VoicePlay's "'Zat You, Santa Claus?" after Xmas. Technically, IMO, the holiday lasts until January 3rd. 😃 Happy Christmas!💚❤
Friend, merry Christmas to you. The guy with the beard is Earl, one of the original singers. Santa is played by the brother-in-law of Geoff. Elmar from Germany😁
Merry Christmas from Germany where the 24th, Christmas Eve is the main day of Christmas Celebration! Love your reaction to this! Even though this is more of Halloween song, usually. But hey, your face is great to watch on this!
Perfect sweater 😉😄. This was a fantastic arrangement and execution and certainly made history! Enjoyed it with you 😉. Hope you have a great Christmas day and festive season. ⚘️🕊
there's a reason this has been running about neck and neck with the actual movie clip scene of the song in youtube views... and it's kinda fun to see this one pass it, then the film clips passes this, then..... fun fact - that last note is actually the same pitch as the last note he sings in High and Dry.
Thanks for another reaction to VoicePlay! Must remember that Geoff has a five octave range nowadays (three of them in full chest voice) so he can sing bass, baritone, or tenor whenever he wants to. This video has been around awhile and Geoff's range continues to expand. Geoff has gone lower in "Halo" (B0) and "Valhalla Calling" (B0), and briefly in "Enemy" (A0). His extremes are always when Layne arranges a project for VoicePlay and pushes Geoff right out of his comfort zone. They've sung together and been friends since they were in middle school. Kathy's father was their high school chorus director (now Geoff's father-in-law). Santa in this video is Kathy's brother, but voiced by Eli.
Great reaction! I loved it! And don't worry, you don't have to have seen the movie to follow this music video. Although I definitely recommend watching it even once, if only for the brilliance that is Tim Burton. Geoff can go lower than this, for sure. His newest song: Carol of the Bells is awesome! A Masterpiece. The guy you pointed out that you don't know is Earl. He used to be in Voiceplay before he had a health scare. You didn't hear much of it in this song but he can sing really high. Warriors would be a song I would advice to hear him in too, or Queen in 5 minutes. I look forward to more reactions to VoicePlay and Geoff. the jumper is really cute too ^^
Happy holidays. Your sweater is perfect for the Office party! You really should watch the movie at least once. Even if only to hear the music. It was scored by Danny Elfman, previously of Oingo Boingo, who also is responsible for the Batman themes, Edward Scissorhands and a lot of other movie soundtracks.
Thanx for this fun reaction to Oogie Boogie. But to be honest, it is from The Nightmare BEFORE Christmas, so it is actually a Halloween release 😉😜 But on the other hand, it has Santa in it 😁 Yeah, it shows off Geoffs range at that time pretty good, today he is even better. This video is one of the reasons it is worth to activate the CC, as VoicePlay often make little puns there, in this they put these comments to that awesome drop at the end: (Lower) The Oogie (Even Lower) Boogie (Subterranian) MAN! Speaking of subterranian, l highly recommend Geoffs rendition of Carol Of The Bells, his xmas release this year. I am also no friend of traditional xmas music, but that GOTH version of a carol? THAT I can relate to, eerily haunting & sinister, yet drop dead gorgeous at the same time! Happy Holidays.
His version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen also is a bit dark compared to the traditional sense. But Carol is very… assertive. A lot of drums and carefully placed pauses in both of them.
@melvinthinks l guessed that, my comment was meant tongue in cheek. But the movie is well worth it if you like lighthearted Halloween fun. And VP did at least 3 more songs from that movie (This is Halloween, What's This & Kidnap the Sandy Clause) & Geoff made a fantastic rendition of Jacks Lament, another song from that movie, on his solo channel.
That last note, an E1, was not a reliable note for Geoff at the time they recorded this video. If a song pushes Geoff's range, it's a Layne arrangement because what are buddies for? It quickly became a reliable note, and of course he goes much lower now, including a sustained B0 at the start of Valhalla Calling. There are audience recordings of VP doing this song in concert, with Pasquale (Santa) projected rather than live. At the time of recording, this song has the highest and lowest notes Geoff could hit. You can date VoicePlay videos by the length of Geoff's hair and the member lineup. No Tony, so it's after 2016. Founding member Earl is present, so it's before summer 2020. Watch with the captions on. You're missing fun stuff!
Merry Christmas 🎄🎁🎊🍀 Geoff's new song "Carol of the bells" is amazing, worth a listen ❤ It has over 700.000 views in only 2 weeks and is an amazing masterpiece 🤩
@melvinthinks Thank you ❤️ Geoff's "Carol of the bells" is not cheesy christmassy at all, so not only for Christmas season I think 😅 And you know, all the VP and Geoff fans will enjoy your reaction to this even if you do it in the middle of summer 🤣🤷🏻♀️ It's more like a dragon choir singing something for the Lord of the Rings universe 🐲
Nice reaction, not so sure about the jumper!!! MistakesHaveBeenMade does a nice drum cover of this along with a couple of covers of August Burns Red Christmas songs. Hope you and MG have a lovely Christmas, you deserve it after the great entertainment you’ve given us this year.
Thanks for watching everyone 🙏👍

@@melvinthinks I hope yours was awesome! Mine was good! 💜
I've put on about 3 stone in weight! Glad you have enjoyed yours 🤟🤟🤟
Yes do Geoff’s Carol of the Bells! You will hate yourself if you wait until next year to hear it😢
I second this!!!
Absolutely agree
Yep, it tipped over one million TH-cam views yesterday after being released a little more than two weeks ago. It's a must-see!
Damn you lot! I'm gonna have to try 😁
@melvinthinks you will thank us. Just be prepared!
Friend, merry Christmas to you. The guy with the beard is Earl, one of the original singers. Santa is played by the brother-in-law of Geoff.
Elmar from Germany😁
Happy holidays Elmar 😀
The low note is an E1. In Valhalla Calling he hits a B0.
Blimey!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and your family and friends 😁⛄️🎄🎅😘
Cheers Jeanette and Merry Christmas to you too x
Merry Christmas from Germany where the 24th, Christmas Eve is the main day of Christmas Celebration!

I actually spent Christmas in Berlin one year 😁 Merry Christmas to you 🤟🤟🤟🎄🎅
Perfect sweater 😉😄. This was a fantastic arrangement and execution and certainly made history!
Enjoyed it with you 😉. Hope you have a great Christmas day and festive season.

Thanks again Eve and have a wonderful Christmas x
Thank you for your reaction lovely! ❤Please do Geoff's new X-mas song carol of the bells!!!
But it's not Christmas anymore? 😁

The man with the beard is a past founding member Earl Elkins Jr. He left the group in 2020. That last note Geoff hits and holds is a E1.
Yep. That's what I thought 😀

@@melvinthinks I thought it looked really adorable :D
I hope you had a very merry Christmas! You certainly gave yourself a great gift to react to. 😁

Perhaps for 2026 😁

There are you tbe videos dedicated to people reacting to that last low note.
I can see why! lol
