This clone version is very old. Missing lockbar insert is a dead giveaway, doesn't need further inspection. Chinese recently made a clone of 0562ti and cf which from the photos seems impossible to distinguish. I'd like to see a comparison of those with the real deal.
I'll look at it , maybe one of my friends in the community already owns it. I won't buy another clone bit if I cab get my hands on one without spending the coin...I'dcbe honored to take a look at it. Thank you for the info.
I used to try and explain the difference between a good knife and a cheap knife to the guys I worked with and I just gave up 😂.It was like talking to a wall.
Everyone has their own thing for sure. You get a group of bikers together and they'll give a guy crap for riding a Honda or Suzuki ...but ask to see their knife lol. Most of em are carrying whatever they picked up at truck stop. The bike is important to them. The knife is merely a tool.
Thank you for showing the differences! It's such a shame that there are soo many cloned knives! Think about how many people buy a knife and just never find out its a clone. Or worse they have it for awhile then stumble across some evidence of it.
Yeah, I think outside of knife enthusiast it probably wouldn't be extremely heartbreaking. I'm not a shoe person but my brother is. If I picked up a pair of nikes and wore them for 6 months and my brother told me they were fake...I don't think it'd phase me a bit lol. But that would be disappointing to him , simply because he loves shoes. Regardless...i agree, it's a shame to see so much counterfeit crap out there , no matter the product. It's truly an epidemic.
@@apex_alchemy_knives I like the analogy. But what's the main disadvantage to having this fake? is the blade quality night and day? from what i can tell the craftmanship is the same.
@@cmeadors13 the blade difference is a little worse on this one. It would be lights years worse than say a reate but zt...zt has their own sets of issues when it comes to heat treating so...not a huge difference. I imagine the steel is subpar. The craftsmanship...it was a tough knife. The pivot was cross threaded so it's hard to keep the pivot from loosening. The pocket clip ...very very weak. My buddy said he snagged it getting off a mower and it just twisted it like it was playdoh. It just isn't that great of a knife...but it's better than a $20 gas station knife...if not for ergonomics alone.
You just saved me from buying a fake 0562 right now at a pawn shop. Thank you, for real. They were selling it for $120. The serial was 1183 and had the gap behind the studs. I had the pawnshop watch this video and they were also thankful to ID the person who sold them the fake(s) to law enforcement (they were also sold a fake 0393 by the same seller). They had a real 0560BW that they gave me for the same price 😍😍.
Man, they are pretty close until you take that detailed look. Don't need the insert if you have a steel frame lock, right. I just love my 0562 because it was my first $300ish purchase for the full titanium. I do know people won't go above $100 for a knife. It took me a while to get used to it, but at the moment that's more of a lower limit for me. I'm definitely not going to buy a clone now, but I'm not going to be judging anyone on what they want to do with their money.
Yeah im past the clones for my interests. You wanna see the shame of it though. Take a look at my real vs fake videos. 85% of the channel views, 70% of channel watch time , 45% of the subscribers all came from the para 3 video. We could build this channel on nothing but real vs clones. I don't have an issue pointing out the differences , but it'll have to be a fake that's already in my vicinity. Ain't buying any more of them , that's for sure 🤘😎👊
i just bought a fake for $20. ser.1183...very VERY sharp! interested to see how well the blade holds up. Since that's the only thing that really matters imo.. wish yall would have talked about the steel quality in the comparison
I didn't have that data at the time so I would have been lying. I think we can assume it'll be subpar at the 20 dollar price point. But if it's heet treated at all I think you'll get your money out of it.
I do not know the msbufacturer of that clone particularly. I did know that there were several cloners...but wasn't sure who did what to be honest. Thanks for watching and your input.
Atentamente.
Hey all jokes aside. I've had Chinese knives come raiser sharp. What that tells me is I can make it sharp again. Bottom line is eventually we all need to sharpen a top end knife but the design is were it's at
It's actually SUPER important to do these types of videos. Every single month I have the sad job of asking a person "just checking before I sharpen it for you that you do know this knife is a counterfeit right" and 9 out of 10 times the person has no idea and bought the knife based on it being real and for screwed out their money. Someone needs to do a how to spot a counterfeit video on the Spyderco Smock because they have got the smocks dialed in really good now... and the Green Thorn shiro knock offs are absolutely out dangerous good and it won't be long before someone sends me their 1000 dollar quantum for a sharpening and I have to let them know they got screwed over and that's gonna be heart breaking.

Thanks for putting this together. Just bought the 0562 second hand and this video helped confirm its authenticity. 👍
