It doesn’t have the very wide soundstage like Sony XM4 or Sennheiser Momentum 4, but it has enough soundstage to feel like in a larger room. The App help to adjust the bass and soundstage and makes it an all around headphone for those people who still prefers details of string instruments being played. I had a few Grado 5 years ago (Prestige series, PS500 and GS) I would say the soundstage is between Grado and Momentum 4. I actually at Bestbuy yesterday and demoed the Sony XM4, XM5 , Momentum 4 and lower Accentum. I had to make sure I bought the right headphone for me before my return window expires. I went back home and played my Marshall Monitor 3 is the best! I only bought this more on sound signature. ANC is not a biggie for me. BTW, this is very light and Comfy! Also, it seems like it has a vent, bec. I don’t feel head pressure after listening with volume up for 5 hours +. This is out of stock on their website! (I have owned Sony XM3, XM4, XM5, Momentum 4 (all colors), Grado PS500, GS, Prestige series 225/325, Bose etc)
All I need is: - Comfort/don't easily slide off head - Great battery life - Great audio quality (I aren't too picky, definitely not an audiophile to any degree) - Good ANC/ANC that doesn't go funny after some time of use (this happened with the last ANC ones I used; Anker Q35) - Well built and last If they have all that, I'm happy. The battery life is a great selling point to me, I'm just interested in the ANC, how good it is, and whether or not it's prone to going funny.
ANC is improved to the point that they're actually worth using compared to the Monitor II. Sony, Bose and other big names are still better, but this is like 75-80% of the way there now. For sounds like an Airplane, train, or AC hum, it does well. Where these still can struggle is with wind, especially from behind the earcups, that can make a bit of a whistle in my experience.
Shame there is no in-depth comparison between these and other popular anc headphones or even mic test. On the other hand there are not many reviews of these so cant complain! Thanks!
Like I said in the video, these are surprisingly close to my XM4s in a lot of ways. Sony still has the edge with ANC and mic quality, but Marshall has the edge with portability and durability. Sony goes on frequent deep sales and can be a great deal, but the Marshalls have more character and will probably last longer.
The lack of a 3.5mm cable input on these Marshall Montor III's is such a meaningless complaint -- these DO plug in! Simply use a USB C to 3.5mm audio cable which functions the exact same way. Marshall even included one such cable of this type and longer ones are cheap and plentiful online. I LOVE the new III's... stellar in every way, just sound awesome and SUPER comfortable for hours and hours. Recent firmware update seems to have DRAMATICALLY improved ANC, which is now excellent!
@@tinnitusattacks Monitor III 100%. Better in every way except for the 3.5mm plug. While some like @blottobrain might not care for the adaptor, it is a serious concern if you use that 3.5 port all the time. If you ever lose the adaptor, it's not as easy to find a replacement (IN A PINCH). As someone who usess these as a tool, to monitor audio from a camera, I have also found that they have static interference which you obviously don't want.
rip 3.5, my smaller marshalls finally gave up after 6 years and i wanted over ears for more comfort and decided the better battery life was more important to me than a 3.5 jack cause i have wired headphones from DJing when i rly need it, but it still sucks that they removed that jack
I wish I could find a pair that has great sound, like the Momentum 4, great ANC and calls like the XM5, and the rugged look and manual controls like the MIII. I absolutely hate touch controls and all the frilly stuff that doesn't work well and gets in the way of my work. Can someone please just get all the basics done well before adding extras?
I like the fact that they sell it with a hard case. Biggest issue I have with my 2s is the headphone randomly turning on when the joystick gets pressed against something when its in my backpack. Not a deal breaker but quite annoying.
I bought this version. She is just space. I had a major 4 before that. I also liked the depth of the music, the vocals, the bass is really enough, everything is in its place, the sound is not tiring. Comfortable headphones, I use them all day every days.
Hi. How do these compare to the original v moda crossfade wireless regarding sound? I really like the sound of the crossfade wireless. The marshall monitor III caught my attention, I'm looking for another headphones with a fun sound. I mostly listen to rock, indie/alternate, electronic music.
@ Thanks! I decided on the Monitor II mostly because they were un sale. Also, for all the improvements you described in your comprehensive review, I didn’t get the idea that the Nonitor III sounded significantly better.
I love these headphones, but my main concern is that I primarily buy it to monitor audio on zoom h6, now my question is.. could these headphones be used to monitor audio on zoom h6 ?! I don't mind that they need to be charged because I only need it for 1-2 hours audio recoridng
It's hard to describe audio quality as it's subjectiv. To me, they are neutral out of the box but can easily be tweaked with app EQ. I have mine set to a slightly heavier V-shape with more lows and highs that I love. Good bass without it being overpowered. The soundstage modes are the most interesting change to sound this year as you can get that wider sound if you want.
Oof. That's tough. Marshall is way more rugged and I feel like I can take them anywhere without a case. Sony, definitely not. Sony's are still more comfortable in my opinion, but it's close. I don't like the Sony touch controls, but I think they have some of the best ANC and sound quality. Marshall is getting close, but Sony still has the lead. The Sony's also go on frequent sales and are a great deal.
@ It is not “on ear” but “Over ear”. I have worn booth and there is a huge difference. For example if I lay on the bed and stand up the monitor will fall off my head… because they are way too heavy… and that is logical; I mean you could produce music with them. But I need a daily companion. Something light for the airplane or train. Hope you get the picture by now?
Monitor II was already barely midrange when it launched in 2020, and it sold for a whopping 4 years, during which everyone else moved 1 or 2 generations. But this product is all about style and a certain kind of sound, it's not for experiencing the best ANC or gadgetry.
3:52 - _[nobuy point]_ the biggest selling point why i've always bought marshalls all the time was that amazing feature with sharing audio via 3.5 plug.... very sadlby.. goodby marshall!

Just bought them and personally from my xm4s these i really enjoy a bit more. Especially better than the sony ult

Great video, thanks! Does the Monitor III support any Hi-Res Bluetooth codec like aptx HD or LDAC?
Just AAC. Personally I'm not someone who can tell the difference, but maybe someone else can weigh in.

No aux? Did they forget who their audience is? What a sad miss.
Who gives a fuck aux has been dead for almost a decade.
Read that it comes with a usb-c to 3.5mm jack, but not as nice as having it already

@blottobrain that’s not the point. It’s stupid to have to have headphones that require a battery when plugged in.
No, just AAC.
I have them and I enjoy wearing them 😊

So they are made for Rock & Roll but you can’t plug ‘m into an electric guitar? 🤔
Yup you can. Use a USB C to 3.5mm cable. Done.

If you wanna share audio, but Major V or a Samsung phone, buddy
video sponsor........ Marshall ;-)
If it was sponsored would I have ranted about how dissapointing the loss of a 3.5mm jack is and how that was one of it's biggest selling features? 😕
At least their hinges do not break like SONY
I guess this are not rated for Aptx codec
SBC, MPEG-2 AAC (
No 3.5 aux no money for Marshall.
